Joe Lhota vs. John Catsimatidis

I intend to vote for Joe Lhota in the Republican primary because his campaign seems less prole, but I haven’t been following this that closesly so if any readers know of a reason why I should vote for Catsimatidis instead, please speak up.

I’m not sure that either of them has a chance against Quinn or De Blasio in the general election.

    They don’t.

Manhattan’s luck at driving out blacks is about to run out. Not only will you get the “married” bull dyke lesbian in Quinn (or, maybe, the racial panderer, De Blasio) but Stop-and-Frisk has been torpedoed by a judge. Prepare for your re-Africanization, Lion.

    • To reiterate, any democrap elected to city hall will bring Gotham to its knees again. However, I’m not sure whether Lhota or Catsimatidis could live up to any of their Republican predecessors. Lhota is less of a prole because he has a Harvard Degree, while the supermarket mogul is definitely a fat prole by the way he talks and walks. Neither men have the chuztpah of Guiliani or the bobo qualities of Bloomie, which makes the Big Apple a desirable town to live or for visiting.

A dark cloud looms over Manhattan very soon!

Only the Lion can save Manhattan from certain doom.

And steal status and eliteness while he’s at it.

      • None of these candidates will make NYC a SWPL or high prole friendly town. It’s all about poor racial minorities, Lhota seems to be the exception, but lacks the Chutzpah or the bobo finesse to keep NYC from descending into a complete 3rd world cesspool.

    • This whole episode is just pathetic. From the entitled Oprah’s “poor me!” attitude (while being about to afford a $30k+ handbag), to her obvious race baiting of a person who spoke poor English, this incident speaks volumes about her character. Just more evidence of Oprah’s “new money” classlessness.

  4. Lhota’s campaign junk mail included a paragraph asserting that he’s in favor of providing “support for female, minority and veteran owned businesses,” (I’m quoting from memory, so the phrase might have been a little different, but there definitely wasn’t a hyphen in it), while Catsimatidis’s campaign junk mail doesn’t include anything indicating an intention to discriminate against men of European descent.

    • I dug the Lhota mail out of the recycle-bag: the item, one of seven parts of “Joe’s Economic Reform and Jobs Plan,” reads, “Increased support and incentives for minority, women and veteran owned small businesses.”

    • Catsimatidis favors minorities more so than Lhota. Have you ever been to his supermarkets? They are infested with Black and Hispanic store managers.

  5. Joe lhota is the only candidate who seems like he has any qualifications for a managerial job, as opposed to simply being a lifelong NYC political crony whose time is due. of course, i could be underestimating the political steps it took to get his job, as well as overestimating his importance at the MTA, but as they used to say about mussolini, he made the trains run on time. and the MTA is certainly one of the crown jewels of NYC public works. so i’m favorably predisposed.

i don’t think he has a chance because no one is talking about him, and he doesn’t have a lot of charisma to cut through the clutter. but we’ll see.

  6. I have never heard of Lhota, while Catsimatidis’ ads run ad nauseum on WABC.

Since I am susceptible to advertising, I would vote for Catsimatidis.

    • Cats-whoever emphasizes that CATS in his campaign commercials, which may give him an edge with NYC cat owners.

  7. Why not go with the prole? Proles are more likely to have lived in and among ghetto dwelling minorities and, as such, have a clearer understanding of their tendencies. Bobos just make sure they live at enough of a distance to keep their fantasies intact.

    • Lhota is actually from the best of both worlds. He grew up in a prole family, but went to Harvard and became elite.

      • Lhota is a Republican so ghetto folks aren’t his targeted constituents. He could care less about them, just as much he doesn’t care much about Asians, since the Asian infested 7 line to Flushing, Queens was shut down during Chinese New Year.

    • And how does a guy such as Lloyd Blankfein of Goldman Sachs have a clear understanding of ghetto minorities? He grew up prole and became an elite. He doesn’t, bcause elites don’t have time to care about the poor in this day of age when they are only concerned about status maintenance.

  8. Given his hefty girth, Catsimatidis won’t whine about the soda consumption and elevator use of NYers. Also, as a billionaire, he will be less indebted to lobbyists and the will of the people (sort of how Bloomberg ignores criticism of stop and frisk). He’s probably an Orthodox Christian too which is another good reason to vote for him.

    • Catsimatidis is basically a liberal donning in Republican’s clothing, similar to Bloomberg. He whines about NYC needs to take care of racial minorities. The only difference is that Bloomberg has bobo initiatives, and he’s doesn’t.

  9. I live here, and I’m not nearly as worried about a Democrat mayor as a lot of the commenters here. The dominant money here is Real Estate money (largely Jewish), and they aren’t going to tolerate any kind of return to the Dinkins era. Whatever these mayoral candidates say on the surface, they will bow down before the Real Estate money. I see it in in local news stories every day. The various community boards are constantly approving new condo high rises in all sorts of neighborhoods.

I actually think that whatever happens to stop-and-frisk, the de-blacking of New York will continue. Since the city does need lower class workers to do all the dirty work, it will continue importing Dominicans to replace the blacks.

The dirty work are done by Mexicans, not by Dominicans.
