  1. You should not be surprised that a blog about social class (the most judgmental of topics) attracts a lot of mean-spirited readers.

I saw an article you might find interesting about how money, class and self-esteem correlate differently in New York city than in Britain:

    • young is lying and he knows it. it was reading his own book, “how to lose friends and alienate people”, that i first learned the us has the most rigid class structure in the developed world.

but it is true that america’s elite is crass and class-less.

  3. American elitism is a perverse form of eliteness. Status garnering in America is about dominating others, not to project it. It’s a raw primal activity. That’s why we’re mean spirited!

    • No, they are not entertaining.

      • They’re often highly entertaining.

The long line of Western satire is filled with the most enjoyable malice. From Voltaire to Vidal, from Swift to Bierce, from Aristophanes to Mencken, the most memorable writing always has the most stinging invective. Everyone else is just a Puritan of some sort or another who takes himself too seriously.

No intelligent and functional adult should mind someone making fun of him, so long as the jokes are funny. What is it that Clint Eastwood says? “You can starve me and you can beat me and you can kill me. Just don’t bore me.”

  5. Can you allow MORE antisemites? I think it’s time they be interrogated about why Kevin MacDonald lied about the entire “Jews plotted to destroy America with immigration” thing. Maybe he was trying to deflect blame from the real culprits, the Irish, to the Jews?

MacDonald has particularly been accused by other academics of academic fraud, saying that he has promoted anti-Semitic propaganda under the guise of what he says is a legitimate and academic search for truth.[26] He has also been accused of misrepresenting the sources he uses in that regard. Fenris State University professor Dr. Barry Mehler cited for example a quote from a 1969 dissertation by Sheldon Morris Neuringer titled American Jewry and United States immigration policy, 1881-1953 where MacDonald surmised that when Neuringer noted Jewish opposition in 1921 and 1924 to the anti-immigration legislation at the time was due more to it having the “taint of discrimination and anti-Semitism” as opposed to how it would limit Jewish immigration, MacDonald wrote, “…Jewish opposition to the 1921 and 1924 legislation was motivated less by a desire for higher levels of Jewish immigration than by opposition to the implicit theory that America should be dominated by individuals with northern and western European ancestry.” “It seems to me Mr. MacDonald is misrepresenting Mr. Neuringer

      • I think the problem is crossover between those interested in HBD and Stormweenies. Which is unfortunate, because they ruin the comment section of Sailer, Jayman, and you for no apparent reason, and are a large reason why the “realist” non-partisan scene is not taken seriously.

    • Oy. Have you seen Chateau Heartiste lately?

I’m done arguing with those people. I’m rather annoyed at the way our distant relatives preach feminism and the rest, but once people start claiming the Holocaust didn’t happen, you know there’s no point in continuing. It’s like saying the sky is green.

      • I’m rather annoyed at the way our distant relatives preach feminism and the rest, but once people start claiming the Holocaust didn’t happen, you know there’s no point in continuing.

Their arguments can be broken down in two categories:

        1) Jews support something gentiles also support and in much greater numbers even at the elite level.

        2) Lies largely created by Kevin MacDonald, with whom the antisemites have wonderfully painted themselves into a corner.

MacDonald’s lies include Jews ordered the Holodomor (Stalin was Georgian and he was pushing Jews out of leadership when the Holodomor occurred), the 1965 and 1924 immigration acts (in 1924 Jews were only concerned with how immigration impacted Jews escaping persecution, MacDonald made up quotes to make it seem otherwise), Jewish liberals are ethnocentric (HOW when non-Orthodox outmarry at 71%???).

As for the former, I think Alexander Solzhenitsyn has a fair position which can be extrapolated to every other leftist movement.=. He said both Russians and Jews should apologize for supporting Communist revolution. I agree Jews should apologize – after ethnic Russians do. Until then (and doubt Putin’s offering an apology any time before he lays siege to Kiev, or after) gentiles have no business asking Jews to apologe for anything if French, Swedes, Germans, Britons and ethnicities of the Russian empire Russians don’t have to apologize for their liberals.

But he claims that the pogroms were in almost every case organized from “below” and not by the Russian state authorities. He criticizes the “vexing,” “scandalous”, and “distressing” restrictions on the civil liberties of Jewish subjects during the final decades of the Russian old regime. On that score, in chapter ten of the work he expresses his admiration for the efforts of Pyotr Stolypin (Prime Minister of Russia from 1906 until 1911) to eliminate all legal disabilities against Jews in Russia.

In the spirit of his classic 1974 essay “Repentance and Self-Limitation in the Life of Nations”,[10] Solzhenitsyn calls for the Russians and Russian Jews alike to take responsibility for the “renegades” in both communities who supported a totalitarian and terrorist regime after 1917. At the end of chapter 15, he writes that Jews must answer for the “revolutionary cutthroats” in their ranks just as Russians must repent “for the pogroms, for…merciless arsonist peasants, for…crazed revolutionary soldiers.” It is not, he adds, a matter of answering “before other peoples, but to oneself, to one’s consciousness, and before God.”[11]

Solzhenitsyn purports to document the over-representation of Jews in the early Bolshevik leadership and the security apparatus, claiming, for instance, that of the 22 ministers in the first Soviet government three were Russian, one Georgian, one Armenian and 17 Jews. However, the first Bolshevik government, the Sovnarkom was composed of 15 People’s Commissars (ministers), of whom only one (Trotsky) was Jewish, and of the 25 individuals who held that position between 1923 and 1930 only 5 were Jewish.[16] Vadim Abramov’s monograph “Jews in the KGB” demonstrated that although Jews were trusted by the early communist authorities because as formerly disenfranchised they were not expected to harbor any loyalties to the Tsarist regime, their number in the security services at no point in history exceeded 9%, and from 1927 never exceeded 4%.[17]

The book has been described by historian Richard Pipes of Harvard University as “a conscious effort to show empathy for both sides.” and exonerating Jews for responsibility for the revolution: “No, in no way can it be said that Jews ‘made’ the revolution of 1905 or 1917 as it was not made by another nation taken as a whole”. At the same time Pipes notes that Solzhenitsyn is “too eager to exonerate czarist Russia of mistreating its Jewish subjects, and as a consequence is insensitive to the Jews’ predicament”.[23] In Richard Pipes’ opinion, the book absolves Solzhenitsyn from the taint of antisemitism, although he thinks the author’s nationalism prevents him from being fully impartial, and that Solzhenitsyn is using outdated and inadequate sources.

      • So even Solzhenitsyn isn’t as antisemitic as the CH people would like him to be? Can’t say I’m entirely surprised.

He’s kinda right about Communism, though getting blamed for the Holodomor is kind of lame…Stalin was pretty much behind that one…

      • though getting blamed for the Holodomor is kind of lame…Stalin was pretty much behind that one…

The early Soviet leadership was 20% Jewish and fell by the time the Holodomor occurred.

Whatever remaining Jews or gentiles were still in the leadership were inconsequential since Stalin was 110% of the decision making.

  6. Rachel Canning, that Proless from NJ, who was suing her parents for kicking her out the house before turning 18, receives a scholarship from a bumblef*ck – prole school, known as Western New England University, that charges an arm and a leg for a full price tuition at ~ 45K/year.

What’s in it for non-Ivy strivers? Nothing!

  7. Lion – Did you read today’s AM New York?

What do you think about this? Free college courses in NYC offered during the night at bars. Sounds like a great place to self actualize. It’s a new trend started by a group of Columbia and NYU professors.
