PC en France

A famous French weatherman was fired because he wrote a book skeptical of global warming. Thus proving the existence of a global conspiracy to silence skeptics.

  1. It’s not so much a conspiracy as a hive mind.

  2. Here is a very interesting podcast:

It discusses how nature is actually returning to the US and the rest of the first world due to the enormous productivity of agriculture and other technologies. Jesse Ausebel is very well known in this field. Also, the podcast host, Russ Roberts, although strong free-market advocate, is not autistic about it. Very interesting!!

  3. Being skeptical of global warming is a position the ruling class has deemed not respectable. To be skeptical in a highly public way and in a related position is to oppose the respectability dictates of the ruling class and therefore to invite retribution. So, to the extent the existence of a ruling class enforcing standards of respectability, whether they believe in those standards or not, is a conspiracy then perhaps you are correct.

  4. These climatologists are worthless. They don’t predict anything interesting or useful. California now has more water than anybody needs. Did one climatologist out of the thousands on the gravy train actually predict that?

    • California has had drought cycles for millions of years. Your cat could predict a drought there. Without any climatology training.

  5. Even being gay and married didn’t help him. After being celebrated for his lifestyle, he is dumped for his ideas. In Russia nobody would lose a job because of his opinions on GW.

    • That is one reason why leftism is so awful. Total conformity is expected. The Pope, who checks so many leftist boxes, comes under attack as soon as he reminds people that he believes in traditional marriage. These people are not friends.

  6. 97% agreement is evidently not enough for some people.

    • It is incredible that someone with an IQ high enough to be interested in this blog would state that as a fact. Either you have never taken 5 minutes to neutrally research the merits of that claim or you are so religiously leftist that you have consciously and completely blocked truth from your world.

      • Yes, scientists are conspiring all to keep you from your comfort bubble.

        October 19, 2015 at 11:11 pm

      • The “97 percent” number is an article of faith among some. Numbered among the faithful are those who fired the aforementioned French weather-queer.

        October 20, 2015 at 3:35 am

    • Yup, especially when pretty much nobody is willing to spell out in detail what exactly is in agreement.

      • Amen.

  7. In Russia nobody would lose a job because of his opinions on GW.

But in Russia you would lose your job if you disagreed with Putin on the greatness of multiculturalism, the need for more mosques in Moscow, the truth about the shooting down of the Malaysian airline or Putin’s love affair with Iranian mullahs. GW is a minor issue compared to all those issues.

    • Would you? If you are an activist so noisy that you catch the attention of Putin’s administration perhaps, but do ordinary Russians fear that they will lose their jobs for politically incorrect water cooler talk?

America is rotten with petty self-appointed PC commissars. Is that true of Russia?

  8. So? It’s not as though the station owes this guy a job. If he doesn’t like it he can go elsewhere.

    October 19, 2015 at 11:09 pm

    • So you agree with this leftist inquisition?

      October 20, 2015 at 9:42 am

    • Where did this meme come from? This is the fifth time this week I’ve heard a Leftist say “if you object to what we’re doing you can leave this country”.
