Prospect Park, November 8th

A commenter says that all of my recent posts are about politics, and if I can’t think of something to write about class or other topics, at least post a photograph. So here’s a photograph.

As you know, I believe that Prospect Park has the superior design compared to Central Park. It’s just too bad that the northeast side of the park is where gay black men go to have gay sex in the woods, and they leave their condoms and other disgusting garbage in the woods.

  1. Prospect Park is for those who can’t afford to walk on Central Park.

This post can be all the topics, of which you can elaborate:

Politics: Upon being elected as mayor, De Blasio immediately moved from Park Slope (his home) to Manhattan (Gracie Mansion).

Class: Residents who live around Central Park are wealthier than those who live around Prospect Park.

Race: Blacks are a problem in both parks.

Status: Prospect Park has a lower status than its Manhattan Icon, despite being the aesthetically superior park (of course, it is not).

Environment: The air quality in the Central Park is better than that of its lesser counterpart in Brooklyn.

    • “Prospect Park is for those who can’t afford to walk on Central Park.”

Central Park is free, anyone can walk in there.

      • It was meant to be a metaphor!

I’m sure tourists would say the food is cheaper around Park Slope than Upper Elite Manhattan.

      • There isn’t any food around Central Park. Both Central Park West and 5th Avenue are non-commercial. The snack bar at the Boat House inside Central Park isn’t especially expensive.

      • Eateries/Restaurants around Prospect Park have a price tag rating of $$ at best, compared to that to the environs of Central Park, in the upward range of $$$$.

  2. Stop complaining. If it bothers you that the park is being littered, just pick up the trash!

    • There are some do-gooder types who volunteer to do that, but unfortunately the trash keeps coming back.

    Ever see Obama there?

If you go just two blocks off Prospect Park on 11th street, there’s a good restaurant called Applewood. They are all farm-to-table and they even have their own farm upstate where they source a lot of the food they serve.

  5. Get a membership to Brooklyn botanic garden. Immaculate grounds, awesome trees. The Caucasian Wingnut (seriously) tree in fall is the coolest thing in New York City.
