Bruno Mars – The Lazy Song

If this video, showing people dressed in monkey masks being lazy, had been produced by a white musician, it would be deemed massively racist: because of stereotypes about blacks being lazy and the racist legacy of blacks being compared to monkeys. But because Bruno Mars is not white, he is able to pull this off without scandal.

  1. Reminds me of this German artist Peter Fox. The below vid would be unthinkable in the US in 2015. I’d have thought unthinkable in Germany too, a few years ago:

  2. Lion , as you’re interested in pop music, What do you think of vigilant citizen web site and his interprétation of symbols used by the singers ?

  3. Lion, thanks again for the recent music video posts. Your blog is reaching new heights already, which is saying a lot. If you want to take it a notch higher, I suggest reviewing R. Kelly’s “Ignition (Remix).”

Please pay attention to 2:12 – 2:16 where R. Kelly gives us a tease at a 360 degree view of his hair. If only the camera went all the way around! The nerdy white kid who can’t dance is also worth mentioning.

    • I don’t understand the Murder She Wrote reference? Is he pointing toward a particular episode perhaps?

      • It’s just another way of saying “done deal”.

    • I was surprised when I learned this song was by R Kelly a few weeks back. I thought R Kelly was supposed to be a hard, rebel type. I remember this song when I used to work retail in a black neighborhood and they’d play the local R & B station. It was one of the best songs they played but it definitely is kind of poppy and even a little bit corny.

    • re: ‘if only the camera went all the way around.’ what would that accomplish or reveal? i don’t understand your reason for curiousity there.

      November 27, 2015 at 12:32 pm

      • Bad joke, nikcrit. R. Kelly is obnoxiously vain in a strange and amusing way and I was commenting on that.

Also, I sort of missed your old debates with PA and I’m glad to see new ones in the comments here:

  4. And speaking of videos with people wearing monkey masks, I recently came across this:

Interpol (hipster NYU kids who were very popular in the indie rock scene a decade ago) were obviously heavily influenced by ‘My Dad is Dead,’ which remains mostly forgotten and extremely obscure. Example:

  5. Today is Monday and two new NAMs showed up for work. We worked in Brighton beach by the water. They were doing duct work outdoors with naked butts. I mean, one guy a realy fat one, had like two thirds of his butt out. My boss got them from and agency, can’t he tell them not to send us any naked butts? They realy looked like monkeys with those fuzzy naked butts. There I’m surrounded by two illegal Tajiks and two naked butts. I mean, how did America get into this mess? They didn’t work badly, but it was their first day on the job. I wonder how much of the butt will come out in a couple of weeks? I realy wanna throttle the bastard.

    • Any minority with skills is getting headhunted for “diversity” in better jobs.

A black man with an IQ of 115 or 120…sky is literally the limit. So why would he work in HVAC with white guys with 115/120 IQs?

      November 24, 2015 at 2:43 pm

      • How much IQ is needed to cover the butt?

        November 24, 2015 at 8:08 pm

      • I saw a reference to 140 plus IQs by race. The reference on Reddit claimed 1 in 83 whites had an IQ of 140 or higher and that 1 in 3.5 million African blacks had that IQ. I couldn’t find a ratio for African American blacks. Anyone know what it is or whether the cited numbers are reliable?

  6. OT: I saw something on MSN that listed “The 25 easiest colleges to get into.” I was sure that the College of Staten Island would not be among them and that I’d be able to gloat over this to Lion, who I knew would want to proclaim “It should be. Who would want to go to ‘Guido U?” I was doing well scrolling thru powerhouses like The University of Bismark, ND and the Appalachian oriented University of Pikeville in Kentucky when my good luck ran out. There it was, perched at #22 – The College of Staten Island with its “Snooky Hall” dormitory and “PaulyD Ahtletic Center” (just kidding!) On the plus side, CSI is the largest campus land-wise of any college in NYC -with 204 acres. It also is “one of 7 colleges that participates in the highly competitive Macauley Honors College of CUNY. This last one must be a haven for the “Maryk’s” of S.I. who don’t want to associate with the “Jersey Shore” element! My own alma mater is Brooklyn College, which I entered into as non-matric since I messed up in high school. So there’s hope for everyone with a decent IQ, even guidettes!

    November 24, 2015 at 3:20 pm

    • Brooklyn College, was historically, second only to the prestigious City College in Harlem.

      • True. But BC underwent a real decline after open admissions began in 1970. When I entered in the fall of 79 its glory days were behind it. Although I got a good education there and realize that because of its urban and NYC location (and the presence of so many Jewish proles whose families valued learning) it was probably far more “intellectual” than most other comparable colleges. And of course, tutions were very modest in those days. All in all I was fortunate, considering that I would never have gotten accepted at even a minimally selective school.

        November 24, 2015 at 8:13 pm

      • Yes, open admissions destroyed City College and Brooklyn College.

      • City College back in the day was known as the “Harvard for the Proletariat”, or in Lion’s layman terminology – The Poor Man’s Harvard.

      • The late 70s seem to be correct, where immigrants were also a different breed in Meriprolestan. Most were non-White and they came from the 3rd world.

  8. Lion: your fans want more psychoanalysis of the liberal mind. This article is from Jezebel:

    Questions for the community:
    1. Have you ever seen so much mass effort by the left to insist that a Republican candidate could never win the nomination? I don’t remember the liberals jabbering endlessly about how there was no way Bachman, Santorum and Cain could ever win the GOP nom.

    2. Why exactly is the left unraveling so badly over Trump? Is it they are worried he could win or have they just become so soft that having what they see as offensive viewpoints made public causes them to meltdown?

      • You really need to rip Nate Silver a new one. He’s obviously letting his personal feelings about Trump interfere with his rational analysis of who the GOP will nominate–he says the 20%+ that prediction markets are giving Trump is “substantially too high.”

O rly? Too high in comparison to another 538 “analyst” who, on a previous GOP-related post, gave “Other” an 8% chance?!! Romney is the only conceivable “Other” who would have any chance, but I wouldn’t back Romney at 1,000:1 to jump in the race now. These 538 guys are either idiots or liars.

Nearly every “educated” shitlib I talk to about the race cites Silver’s “6 stages of doom” article as evidence that Trump has zero chance to get the nom. I can’t recall the last time I saw such blind hero worship.

All I know is that Trump’s chances sure aren’t zero. It’s a 3-man race now: Trump (in front), Rubio (hanging on), & Cruz (dark horse). In his shitlib soul, Silver knows this, yet he still double/triple-downs against it. I wonder, will he still be saying the same thing in January?

      • If the election were held today, Trump would win. So what’s going to happen between now and two to three months from now which hasn’t already happened?

    • Equality has been the ruling class’s legitimizing doctrine and it performs many functions for them; 1) it helps keep them in control and the unruly hordes (read white bourgeoisie) in a subservient and perpetually defensive posture; 2) it helps them advance policies, multiculturalism, that will further dilute the power of their one real enemy, the white bourgeoisie, by Hapsburg-like divide and conquer tactics; 3) it gives them an associated spoils doctrine, racial rent-seeking with which to pay off political allies; 4) it provides them cheap labor; and 5) it provides them new consumer customers.

A policy so useful cannot be question, and definitely not mocked, but Trump is doing both. Therefore Trump must be destroyed by any means possible.

  10. Lion, please put a new post up – preferably one with a lovely graphic, such as one of your paintings. These monkeys are just too obnoxious to look at! A few weeks ago you showed a rat eating pizza. And now this. Maybe you could do a painting at the Staten Island Mall – “Guidos in still life?”

  14. Nate Silver is such a douche. Here are mistakes he’s made visa vi Trump:

    1. He implied that Trump would have shown signs of major decline by Thanksgiving. It is in the “6 stages of Doom” article. Trump is instead higher than when Silver wrote the article.

    2. He said that Jeb was most likely to win the nomination and Jeb is now completely done.

    3. He said that Trump’s support was from name recognition and personality cult despite the obvious fact that it has been about anti immigration all along.

    4. Just last week he cited that Trump’s polls were declining as evidence that Trump wasn’t a big deal. Now that Trump is on the rise again he is back to saying the polls don’t matter.

    5. He keeps saying that blue state delegates will keep Trump from being the nominee, despite the fact that Trump does better in blue states.

    6. Since Trump’s dominance in the polls is so overwhelming, he has been reduced to saying that Trump’s supporters aren’t actual likely voters, despite the fact that polls show that Trump’s supporters are the most engaged and most committed.

    7. He keeps talking about the field consolidating around and establishment candidate, but if numbers boy could actually do math he would see that the establishment candidates together only get about 30%, only a little more than Trump. Also in head to head polls Trump routinely beats the establishment candidate.

    8. He ignores that most Democratic and Republican insiders think Trump is the likely nominee.

  15. speaking of monkeys:

    November 26, 2015 at 4:30 pm

  16. If this video, showing people dressed in monkey masks being lazy, had been produced by a white musician, it would be deemed massively racist: because of stereotypes about blacks being lazy and the racist legacy of blacks being compared to monkeys. But because Bruno Mars is not white, he is able to pull this off without scandal.

disclaimer: I do not like the intensity of p.c code in america; i’ve stated as much numerously on alt-right blogs; i also believe that it’s outrageous the way whites are ostracized for saying mildly to not-so-mildly ‘rayciss’ observations, that may or may not be backed by evident truth.
I concede or have declared all of that…

But: I don’t see the irony in quote above, because i believe we all sometimes forget a basic truth: social taboos are often to nearly always race and/or gender specific; hence, for instance say, a female politician making a sexually oriented joke or insult or insinuation about a male political opponent is going to endure much, much less scrutiny and criticism than would a male politician who did as much toward his female political opponent. Taboo situations and cirucmstances are not socially interchangeable in terms of race and gender; in fact, specifics in terms or race and gender are required to make such incidents taboos in the first place.

So, i don’t believe there’s any irony in Mars’ lack of scrutiny by p.c. police —— which is still not to say that i agree with either Mars’ p.c. impunity OR with the figurative white band who did as much p.c. vilification.
