Giuliani: “People were celebrating, he’s right about that”

I found the entire interview with Rudy Giuliani which aired on CNN this morning. Alisyn Camerota looks like she’s momentarily surprised that Giuliani actually confirmed that there were Muslims in New York City celebrating 9/11. He also says that the number was “10, 12, 30, 40.”

I found Giuliani very political, for lack of a better word. He refused to say anything bad about Trump. Camerota tries to get Giuliani to say that Trump is lying because Trump said thousands were celebrating, but Giuliani refuses to agree that Trump is a liar. He says he doesn’t know how many people were celebrating in New Jersey, but that if Trump saw it then there must be a “tape of it somewhere and if it shows up it will corroborate him and if it doesn’t show up it’s going to make him look really bad.”

Unlike a lot of other Republicans who are saying that Trump can’t win, Giuliani says that Trump has a chance to win, and he also says that Trump benefited the Republican Party by bringing a lot more attention to the race and bringing in a lot of viewers to the debates, giving all of the candidates a better opportunity to make their case to the people.

I wonder if he’s trying to hedge the possibility of being selected by Trump to be his Vice President, but at the same time avoid endorsing him and getting the entire Republican establishment mad at him?

  1. Almost 8 years after Rudy went down to the most embarrassing defeat in the history of presidential primaries (spending 56 million and ending up with a single delegate) Lion is still hoping for Rudy on a presidential ticket. As Ted Kennedy used to say (on another topic) “The dream shall never die.”

Yeah, two decadent New Yorkers who are associated with the culture of Manhattan, and left their wives for another woman (on the plus side, Trump’s children are not alienated from him the way Rudy’s children were). Just beautiful. Truthfully, Trump would be better of with “Maryk” on the ticket! If we have to have two New Yorkers, at least ONE of them should be a real conservative. A Trump/Giuliani ticket would be about as successful as a Lion/Maryk ticket.

    • Giuliani is still well liked and an established figure. The rule for picking VP is do no harm. I don’t think Rudy will harm the ticket.

      • It’s very unlikely that there would be two candidates on the ticket from the same state, and a blue one at that. It’s not like it would make New York competitive.

  2. The more the media denounces Trump’s claim the more they make terrorism (and immigration) central campaign issues and position him as a central figure against both. Once again, Trump is making the media his bitch and they’re too stupid to realize it.

  3. Giuliani failed when it counted the most. He could’ve beaten Hilary for Senator of New York and nipped her misbegoten political career in the bud, but he PUNKED OUT.

  4. This is kind of a bs discussion. Does anyone doubt there were some people in the US celebrating 9/11?

I’m sure there were. They probably didn’t then and don’t want now to be public about it at this point, for obvious reasons.

Doesn’t make the Iraq war a good decision, but can’t fault Trump for being honest.

    • It is a BS discussion because the only argument is on the numbers, not whether it happened or not. The problem is that the media didn’t want to acknowledge that it ever happened, so they’re beyond enraged at Trump for even bringing it up.

    • “Does anyone doubt there were some people in the US celebrating 9/11?”

In fact, that’s what the liberal MSM claimed, instead of saying that there was some celebrating but Trump made a vast exaggeration in the scope of it. They refused to even admit a kernel of truth.
