Syed Farook was very religious

A man who identified himself as Farook’s father told the Daily News his son worked as a health technician inspecting restaurants and hotels.

“I haven’t heard anything. He worked in a county office,” Farook’s dad told The News. “He’s married and has a kid. We’re estranged because my wife got the divorce, and they are together. She doesn’t want to see me.”

Farook said he hasn’t seen his son in some time.

“He was very religious. He would go to work, come back, go to pray, come back. He’s Muslim.”

A very religious Muslim? Islamic terrorism beyond a shadow of a doubt.

  1. They might spin it as “workplace violence” like they did with the Ft Hood massacre.

Or blame his White American coworkers like the Omar Thornton massacre.

  2. Will this be one of the times where it’s decided we can’t have extensive coverage of the shooters because it will glorify them and encourage others, and the most responsible thing to do is not talk about it?

  4. My Tajik asked :
    – ‘When Jews become very religious, do they also become Jewish wahabbists and kill people?’

When I explained to him that quite the opposite happens, he wasn’t too convinced, but by now I think he believes it. Incidently, he hates wahabbists and salafists and wants to kill all of them. He is a pretty good guy, but every day I feel like doing something to him. I think I’m bad in my own way.

    • There are definitely violent Jewish extremists. I’m in contact with several. Hell, one guy I used to talk to online killed 4 Arabs in a shooting attack in Israel in 2005.

Another guy I know is currently in jail on suspicion of being involved in an arson attack where a Palestinian family was burned to death, but I’m pretty sure he had nothing to do with it.

      • The question was: ‘Do Jews become violent when they become very religious?’

Ate you saying yes or no or no opinion?

      • Some do. In Israel whenever a religious Jew stabs up a gay pride parade, it is usually a newly religious.

You are saying that Judaism makes Jews more peaceful and that’s bullshit. I am much more in favor of political violence now as a religious Jews than I was as a secular Jew.

      • The question was: ‘Do Jews become violent when they become very religious?’

Maybe toward “their” women. The treatment of women by the Jewish extremist types can be pretty bad. It wouldn’t surprise me if there is greater amounts of unreported violence and sexual abuse against women and girls in those communities than among more secular Jews.

        But against outsiders? Probably not.

The big exception being Israel itself. It took violence to create it and to expand it. Obviously in relation to Nazi violence and then Arabs wanting to prevent Israel existing.

But was Israel created as a religious state or as an “ethnostate”?

And if Zionist wasn’t religious was it in this sense “racist”??

That’s a loaded term but as with Arab nationalism it probably applies.

      • @Otis.

What you are saying is very interesting. What specific Jewish teaching, a commandment or an injunction made you more likely to shoot up a group of mental disabled people?

        @Rifelmen

This is also very interesting. So a Jew becoming religious is likely start to oppress, abuse and rape women? What makes you think so? Ron Unz missed this, you have to get in touch with him ASAP.

      • Mentally disabled people? None.

But I can think of a long list of things that I would support killing other Jews as well as non Jews over. Examples of note:

        Jews:
        1. Having gay pride parades in the Land of Israel
        2. Supporting expelling Jews in Judea and Samaria from their homes
        3. Supporting the forced conscription of Haredi Yeshiva boys into the IDF

        non-Jews:
        1. Being part of a population group that is making war on the Jewish people (i.e. the entire Arab/Islamic world)
        2. Being a Nazi

Now granted, I’m an extremist but there is certainly a lot of religious Jews who feel as I do. There is massive support amongst religious Israeli Jews for pardoning Yigal Amir for example. Probably the majority of religious Jews support pardoning those who have committed anti Arab terrorist attacks.

Now shooting up mentally disabled people, yeah I’d probably draw the line there. But I’d go for pretty much anything else.

As for what teaching of Judaism condones such things, pretty much the entire Torah. There is no “turn the other cheek” in Judaism. Jews are commanded to hate and destroy their enemies.

      • Jews ignore that stuff in the Torah (which Christians also believe to be literal truth) in favor of Aristotelian ethics which was introduced to Judaism by Maimonides, who was inspired by Christian scholarship.

No, but males from the orthodox world are far more sexist and treat women with obvious contempt more so than secular Jews. How can that be denied? It is a kind of violence.

I suspect there is more violence and sexual abuse among the Orthodox that doesn’t get reported than among secular Jews. Those women put up with a lot that secular Jewish females will not tolerate.

What makes you think so? Ron Unz missed this, you have to get in touch with him ASAP.

I post over at Unz all the time.

I think the contemptuous and abusive behavior among the orthodox is simply accepted in the community. It’s a sick joke but you should know of their arrogance. There have been cases of women being photo shopped out of pictures on Orthodox demands, all sorts of demands by them to be sure not to be “contaminated” by women.

        What is the source??

        Their religion.

This is not true. Orthodox Jews have a different viewpoint about the roles of men and women in society than modern liberal society, but they don’t have contempt for women.

There is Jewish saying : ‘If Ivan steals, they say Ivan is a thief. If Mosher steals, they say Jews are thieves’.

Now, what is respect for a woman? Dexualising children and turning them into sex objects is respect? Don’t make laugh. I think that Jewish law on the whole, treats people that is both men and women with proper respect. Sexual abuse happens in any society. A lot of it is genetic and nothing can be ready done about people with those proclivities. They should be simply shot, or at least this is what I think.

      • Indeed it requires a high IQ to simultaneously believe in the literal truth of the Torah yet at the same time be able to ignore what it literally says in favor of some vastly confusing Talumdic scholarship.

      • Lion, you have to be specific. Also, Maimonides was not ‘inspired’ by Christian scholarship, he knew nothing about it. He was familiar with Moslem philosophy of his day. It’s possible that he’d found it admirable.

        Specifics, Lion, specifics….
