The wife posted support of jihad on social media…

terrorists

The wife posted support of jihad on social media before coming to the United States.

But as reported in the NY Times, despite “three extensive national security and criminal background screenings” and “two in-person interviews” no one noticed this.

And Obama says don’t worry about Syrian refugees. Meanwhile, in Switzerland, two people with Syrian passports were “arrested for suspicion of manufacture, concealment and transport of explosives and toxic gases, as well as on suspicion of supporting groups such as al Qaida, ISIS and similar organizations.”

  1. “Despite “three extensive national security and criminal background screenings” and “two in-person interviews” no one noticed this.”

Look at the bright side. Maybe this means a world in which people are denied jobs or friends because they’re not sufficiently SJW will never come to pass.

  2. Google Philip Haney.

I almost have to laugh at that picture of the bomb duo. It’s almost like they’re looking into the camera and saying “arrest me.”

    • A few of the commentators at Kos actually seem quite rational. But they are being shouted down and called names.

On the subject they are arguing about (what portion of Muslims sympathize with terrorists) I just saw this interesting new video:

  4. I would imagine that no sort of vetting, however extensive, can reliably identify Muslims who might well intend murder and mayhem here. And I suspect the actual vetting is perfunctory and careless—and the record keeping of it no better.

    • We can’t do as much with data as people think we can. We are drowning in data, but its application is hit or miss and reliant on human endeavor.

Yes we can, because the answer to that is ALL Muslims might well intend murder and mayhem here.

  5. According to a poll on MSNBC 96% of African-Americans support Trump’s Muslim ban compared to only 69% of whites. The actual question was whether the ban “went too far”. They posted the numbers at the bottom of the screen in this video.

  7. Why do Muslim men wear that hideous style of beard? Is it in the Koran somewhere?

    • Because the Prophet had a beard, and Muslims are instructed to emulate the Prophet because he was the most perfect follower of Allah.

  8. In an earlier comment to this post I wrote as follow:

…I suspect the actual vetting is perfunctory and careless…

In the news today it’s reported that in vetting the visa applications of foreigners, the DHS prohibited immigration officials from reviewing the posts that those foreigners made on social media.

The vetting is indeed perfunctory and careless—by design, and on principle.

    • What I like best is how all the leftists and news outlets keep saying, “But it’s a vetting process that takes eight months! Eight months!”

Like Americans have no experience with slow-moving, aimless bureaucracy…..

      • I read a news story recently—where or when I forget—reporting that the Federal government had undertaken to digitize and put online some category of documents; and that after eighteen months, exactly one document had been done.
