  1. Yes, Trump is ready to sling some mud, just like a politician should.

This ad should all but prove to you that Trump would never consider a silly softie like Romney, who wasn’t willing to get down in the ditch and shovel crap at his opponent.

  2. I don’t like it overall… Cheap shot, and people accept that Obama is allowed to have a social life.

The part I do like s the line about Syrian passports. The fake Syrian passports really do argue for trumps policies on border control.

    • It’s funny. Of course it’s a cheap shot, but cheap shots win elections.

The only moment when Romney broke into a clear lead over Obama was after the first debate. Obama’s negatives jumped up and he appeared vulnerable. Romney then never followed up those strong attacks, and he lost because of it.

    • “and people accept that Obama is allowed to have a social life.”

The point here is the immediate emotional response. Most people aren’t going to calmly reason that, why yes, Obama should have time to go see Star Wars. They are going to think, Jesus Christ that effete weeny in the White House just doesn’t give a crap about protecting us. At any rate, this is what many working and middle class whites will think, and those are the people Trump has to energize. This election MUST see massive white turnout, or it’s all done for America.

  3. Like everybody keeps saying (correctly) it shows he’s a fighter. PC is, if anything, an obsession with how bad America and Americans are for the purpose of giving leverage to purported victims either historic and within the country (blacks, Indians) or globally (those from poor countries and backward religions). PC advocates need a background story, the victim story, that gets them off the hook for playing hardball. Trump knows he doesn’t have the background story but he’s going to play hardball anyway. Good for him. That’s the only way to win this. He, and we, don’t have time for a reorganization of Hollywood or the rest of the media.

  4. The ad is ok, but Trump’s real brilliance lately was his gesture that he’d smash Billary over their hypocritical charges of sexism ie. their raping. Even the WSJ had to bow before that move.

An effete, uxorious, african-adopter like Romney would never have the stones for that.

    • Romney’s son adopted the African kid. What’s Romney going to do, disown the kid?

      January 2, 2016 at 11:08 am

      • Is adopting an African kid still a thing? It sure was going around a few years ago. Always a boy, too. I don’t think I could handle that.

  5. OT – For a funny example of non sequiter arguing check out this blog post from a fellow named H.A. Goodman who, amazingly, claims to have been published in The Cleveland Plain Dealer, The Baltimore Sun, The Hill, Salon and The Jerusalem Post. The list of irrelevant reasoning, invalid inferences, non-supported arguments, argument by scenario, false premises and questionable premises is breathtaking. It starts with this:

“There are numerous reasons Bernie Sanders will achieve this dominant victory over [Trump] . . . First, Bernie Sanders warns against the influence of money and power in politics, and “welcomes the hatred” of the billionaire class that Trump personifies. [WHICH MEANS WHAT EXACTLY IN TERMS OF ELECTORAL VICTORY?]. Sanders won the Congressional Award from the Veterans of Foreign Wars, while Trump insulted Vietnam Veteran and former POW John McCain. [WHICH MEANS WHAT EXACTLY IN TERMS OF ELECTORAL VICTORY?]. There are a great many other reasons that I’ll highlight in the future, when Sanders becomes the Democratic nominee. Overall, Bernie Sanders genuinely cares about ending wealth inequality and perpetual wars, while Trump is a buffoon who’s spent most of his time making headlines for outrageous statements.”

    • I do believe that Bernie genuinely cares about inequality, but he’s too much of a wuss to beat Hillary. He can’t even handle a #blacklivesmatter protester at his campaign event.

      • How would Hillary have dealt with the ‘Black Lives Matter’ protesters? Other than not letting them get to the stage in the first place?

      • How would Hillary have dealt with the ‘Black Lives Matter’ protesters? Other than not letting them get to the stage in the first place?

August: That was a skilled way of dealing with them without pissing off the Democratic base.

        October: What happened Hillary?!

Hillary’s a crook but she’d be better than Sanders because she knows all that free stuff isn’t free (I think she would’ve been better than Obama).

        January 2, 2016 at 11:16 am

      • I’m surprised the BLM campaign hasn’t noticed the structural racism at work when blacks are injured in automobile accidents that involve whites? Sure, there isn’t any greater statistical injury rate of one over the other in such instances, but if you are an intellectual and knowledgeable about this nation’s history of slavery and racism you’d put the pieces together and realize that whites just don’t care enough when blacks are injured in cars. Put simply, blacks have bad outcomes in life because whites don’t care enough about them!

        January 2, 2016 at 12:02 pm

      • Blacks will not even bother to come down to the polls for Bernie in any decent numbers, and the Democratic leadership knows it. And if Trump is the Republican nominee he could get up to 20% of the black vote, since he’s got the type of style, sizzle and “big man” persona that blacks just love, being the low information voters that they are.

        January 2, 2016 at 1:19 pm

      • There is no freedom without inequality.

  6. Funny thing, I was talking over the holidays with a woman who teaches some classes at a local community college. The class is full of ambitious but not all that bright Hispanic and black people. It’s more like an adult education thing, not part of the undergraduate curriculum, so they are a bit older, mid 20s to 30s sort of folks trying to get ahead.

Anyway, this woman, a pretty standard SWPL type, voted for Obama, blah blah. She brought up Trump for whatever reason, expecting her class to hate him. Yet they all loved him. All those blacks and Hispanics said he’s the bomb. Now I don’t know if that’s enough for them to actually go out and pull the lever, but it’s interesting.

    January 2, 2016 at 12:25 am

    • As long as they don’t vote. Imagine a world where NAMs didn’t vote in the last election.

      • Hispanics have very low voting turnout, but blacks have very high voting turnout.

        January 2, 2016 at 9:09 am

      • “blacks have very high voting turnout.”

Historically, American blacks have always had a very low turnout. Individual elections can bring out a much higher turnout among them, and of course, turnout varies a bit by region and SES. Possibly there’s been a higher turnout among them since Obama came on the scene. But it’s possible that after he leaves office they may go back to their old turnout rates. It isn’t likely that blacks would turn out in high numbers just because a non-black candidate is endorsed by Obama.

        January 2, 2016 at 10:42 am

    • Trump will do better than other Republicans among Blacks. I’d bet on him getting 20-25%. 30% wouldn’t shock me. I’m serious.
Hispanics? He’d have to make the case to limit immigration based on jobs rather than culture (a big appeal to lower class Whites). I could see him breaking 30% among Hispanics.

  7. I wonder if he gets to the general if he’ll run an ad to try pry of some blacks from the democrats. He could do one about how Compton is now majority hispanic.

Also are there any campaigns ads that are more effective than Willie Horton

With the thoughts you'd be thinkin

    January 2, 2016 at 2:44 am

    • Compton is majority Hispanic, because the “El Barrio” eliminates blacks very differently from SWPLs and their gentrification program.

  8. OT – Philly ‘Gayborhood’ developer and gay disco devotee going in big for Hillary. Funny use of the word ‘love’ in relation to Obama.

    “3. Mel Heifetz

Mel Heifetz, a multimillionaire Philadelphia real estate investor, is unusual among donors, in that he genuinely does not crave access to the politicians he supports. Instead, Heifetz has a reputation as a passionate, idealistic man who will write huge checks if he feels inspired by the candidate and that enough is at stake.

When The Hill interviewed him in late September, Heifetz said he “fell in love” with President Obama back in 2008. He followed with a $1 million check to President Obama’s super-PAC last election.

Heifetz had not felt similarly inspired by Clinton, but on Wednesday told The Hill in an email that “it looks like I’ll be supporting Hillary in the coming weeks.”

Heifetz, who cares about no issue more than gay rights, added, “I have seen no others that might have a chance to win and don’t plan learning to refer to Trump as Mr.President.”

  9. O/T, but Scar Wars related:

This is how East Asians portray the main black character in the new SW movie, almost as he is non-existent. Very hilarious.
