White parents screwed in Brooklyn

A large number of white parents, who thought they moved into a neighborhood where their children could attend a white public school, have been screwed by NYC Department of Education which rezoned them into a ghetto housing-project school (NY Times).

I bet they wish that the Supreme Court never decided that ironically named Brown case.

  1. Very sad for the little white kids.

They will get harassed and abused by the black and brown kids, frequently on an explicitly racial basis. The teachers won’t protect them, instead they will blame them for being dirty racist white kids- all the teachers, black, brown, white. They will complain to their parents, and their parents won’t help or protect them. They will be angry and feel helpless.

They will hate and fear black and brown people, and for good reason. They will realize their perfectly rational, justified hate and fear makes them social pariahs, that not even their parents care about them. They will realize we live in an insane world where evil is good and good is evil.

Some parents will sell at a loss and move, some will put their kids in private school, but plenty are going to let their kids find out what a medium-security prison is like.

    • I was bused to school in a housing project and used to think, “This must be what prison is like.” I sympathize with the parents and the kids. But I also wonder how many of them would have called me “white trash” and badmouthed those “racist rednecks down South” for not wanting to send their kids to schools with blacks who hate and attack them.

      January 7, 2016 at 2:02 pm

    • I doubt that even 1 white child will end up attending this school. The parents will either sell to homosexuals at a loss or send their children to private school.

Because their parents know the score. But yeah, there is something vaguely satisfying about Blues paying the Black Tax they want to impose on Reds.

By the way, I went to schools which were 95% white but there were a small number of inner city blacks who were bussed in. It is shocking how unruly disruptive and destructive these kids were.

  2. They all deserve this for voting for Obama.

Any parents who complain about “low test scores” at the reassigned school should be sent to reeducation camps until they are cured of their racism. There they will pay homage to Dante DiBlasio’s afro on an hourly basis…

  3. Outside P.S. 307 in the Dumbo section of Brooklyn on Tuesday. Nine in ten students at the school are black or Hispanic.

LMAO, “Dumbo” is the right name for that area.

  4. The average, cognitive dissonant, White person does not think along the lines of the readers of this blog.

Some of your East Village readers might have noticed a luxury condo has been newly built next to a NAM majority public school on Avenue B. And there’s another one next to the housing projects nearby.

  5. As much as I can’t stand Ta Nehsi Coates, I can’t help but think of him being a docile bookish lad that would have posed no threat to other docile bookish kids; apparently he was horribly bullied as a youth. Similarly a young international Barry O’ Soetoro would be miserably bullied in some of the tougher schools in spite of his cocoa colored complexion.

Is it really that hard for teachers to recognize the disruptive, the bullies and the trouble makers from the kids who want to learn? We say that we want to strive for non-discrimination. Unfortunately we’ve lost the willingness to discriminate between the decent, the cooperative and the productive from the destructive asocial troublemakers…. Perhaps because so many of the troublemakers are colored black.

But who suffers really? They say that putting some good kids and strivers among the rotten ones will help inspire and lift up the troublemakers. But no matter what color the promising kids why should they be made to suffer for the rotten ones?

We abandoned tracking, because it was racist. What we really need is to reintroduce segregation between entire schools, but base it on how promising and cooperative the kids are.

    • It occurred to me at some point that teachers actually *like* bullies. Think about it- bullies are only mean to those weaker than them. They are quite obsequious and charming to those more powerful. To the teachers they seem like happy, charismatic kids. The bookish kids on the other hand are boring nerds. They ask questions and make the teacher think and work. They might even be smarter, and ask questions the teacher can’t answer.

I used to work with a guy whose dad was a teacher. He said his dad liked teaching in ‘hood schools better than suburban schools because the students and parents were less demanding.

      January 7, 2016 at 6:30 pm

      • As someone who was frequently verbally abused by his peers, I can confirm your observation that teachers favor bullies, at least the female teachers. Most teachers are not bookish women who like smart children; they’re the kind of women who dated the bullies when they were in high school themselves.

        January 7, 2016 at 8:43 pm

      • ‘ They are quite obsequious and charming to those more powerful. To the teachers they seem like happy, charismatic kids. ‘

I dunno, where is this? Maybe this is subcategory of bullies, yeah that can be. The teachers themselves are bullies, not all the time, but sometimes. In Russia our gym teacher was starting up with girls so the kids beat him up. It was like twenty of them against him. He died in a motorcycle crash shortly after that. Who is the bully here? Maybe it’s bully meets bullies kind of thing. I think the kids were right, but if they messed up his bike, that I’m not sure I agree with – it depends on how far he went. I don’t know the details ’cause I was too young to participate. Life is tough, he was a nice guy and very good looking, but if he went too far he just had to die. It’s better this way, but it’s still sad.

        January 7, 2016 at 10:04 pm

    • You’re assuming teachers are good people. Teachers are mostly indoctrinated SJW fools and mediocrities. In other words, they are petty bullies. Even if not outright hateful, they’re just people trying to get through the day and really don’t give a shit about someone else’s kid.

      January 7, 2016 at 9:47 pm

  6. We might call it “who/whom schooling”.

    January 7, 2016 at 2:11 pm

  7. What is your explanation for the fact that we don’t have public schools that just select their students like private schools do and each parent just picks the school they like best from the ones that want their kid to attend?

    • Stuyvesant does that at the high school level.

      January 7, 2016 at 2:47 pm

      • Stuyvesant and Bronx Science are not the option for SWPL parents that it could have been in an earlier time because white kids are left in the dust by hyper-competitive Chinese kids. Admittance to these schools is strictly determined by a competitive test and Chinese kids dedicate years of study in “cram” schools just to ace this test. Stuyvesant is over 70% Asian, Bronx Science and Brooklyn Tech over 60% Asian.

SWPLs don’t have any proprietary “claim” to the select schools anyway. These schools were never theirs. Decades ago there were very few SWPLs in New York. These schools were filled by the smart children of white proles, and white proles are pretty much gone from NYC, except for Staten Island.

        January 7, 2016 at 3:13 pm

      • SWPL families avoid schools with a large contingent of Asian immigrants as far as possible. Americanized East Asians are confused and lost in a sea of Whiteness, but would rather stay put than to mingle with their less assimilated co-racialists.

        January 7, 2016 at 3:50 pm

      • In theory all NYC high schools have open and unzoned admission. The specialized schools need to be tested into but within most public highs schools are various programs open to anyone who applies and qualifies (some programs select randomly and don’t consider grades). My daughter is applying to an International Baccalaureate program at a public high school that is otherwise dreadful. She also took the SHSAT back in October.

The sad thing is no matter where she goes she’ll likely come out of it a liberal brainwashed zombie. Even the catholic schools are heavy on multiculturalism and progressive idealism these days. My son (catholic high school) had to take a course this year called Social Justice (which replaced the previous senior religion course).

      • “The sad thing is no matter where she goes she’ll likely come out of it a liberal brainwashed zombie. Even the catholic schools are heavy on multiculturalism and progressive idealism these days.”

A lot of that depends on parents. I have children and they get indoctrinated at school. But it doesn’t work because I already vaccinated them against it at home. Not only have they not bought into it. They’re very much against it. The problem is that other parents never bring it up or take the time to teach their children. So the only message they ever get is from the schools.

      • Does it really benefit your kid for the kid to have a different philosophy than every other kid? At best he won’t fit in, at worst he’ll do something politically incorrect and ruin his chance of ever getting a good career.

        Lion of the Blogosphere

        January 8, 2016 at 12:31 am

      • You’ve said that before and I strongly disagree. First, most people are NOT leftists. Maybe in New York but not where I’m from. Second, even if they were, it absolutely benefits my children not to believe foolish and self-destructive things. Take a look at the freak show liberals are creating then tell me that’s in my children’s interests. Third, it’s rarely a good idea to discuss controversial issues in public regardless of which side one is on. And, finally, “fitting in” is highly overrated. It’s important to be able to get along and work well with others. But fitting in? I wouldn’t want my children to be just another member of the herd regardless of their opinions.

I’m very independent, competitive and contrarian. Which aren’t exactly hallmarks of “fitting in”. But that’s my nature and would have been the case no matter what my views were, I also think those qualities have helped me accomplish some wonderful things in my life. Do you think I’d have my company if I was worried about “fitting in”? Do you think I’d have a family as large as mine if I was worried about “fitting in”? The last thing I want is for my children to “fit in” with this society. I want them to have the values and independence to set themselves apart and rise above it. And they won’t do that by trying to “fit in”.

‘Does it really benefit your kid for the kid to have a different philosophy than every other kid? At best he won’t fit in, at worst he’ll do something politically incorrect and ruin his chance of ever getting a good career.’

The truth isn’t about benefiting your career. It has the highest value in and by itself regardless of any benefits or damage. Morality begins with the willingness to sacrifice and die for the truth. Stop trolling. Your ‘good carrier’ is slavery. ‘Give me liberty or give me death!’. Still remember who said it?

If you spit out you cannot swallow. Spit the truth at them and they cannot brainwash you. Destructure makes sense.

        January 8, 2016 at 4:54 am

      • @destructute

Prager is soft and misses the main point. You teach your children HBD. Races are different, white is superior, European is superior, this is our civilization, there is no such thing as ‘multiculturalism’. America is great Africa and Asia not. There is nothing to be ashamed off. Yes, white people came here and colonized this land, so? Let them know about the real ‘culture’ of the Indians that lived here with human sacrifices, idolatry, savagery, slavery and all their stupidity. Same goes for Australia and New Zealand. Teach them that white America owes nothing to anybody and has nothing to be ashamed of. The Indians and the negros should be ashamed of themselves, if already, not the white people. Be clear and brutally honest. Put the stupid teachers on the defensive. Attack them if they start with their stupidity. They say black culture month, you hit them back with white culture year.

        January 8, 2016 at 7:31 am

      • Prager is definitely soft and doesn’t go far enough. But I linked his articles because he was generally right about how kids end up little lefties and what parents should do to stop it. Of course, it’s not all the result of teachers, schools, media, etc. Some is the result of peer pressure from friends. Which is why it’s important that children do things where they’ll meet and make friends with others who share our culture and values.

I think traditional European civilization and culture is generally preferable. But I don’t so much teach my children that our civilization and culture is superior so much as it’s ours. And they should have enough sense to take their own side against those who hate them. When others criticize our civilization and history, whether it’s a valid criticism or not, it’s usually motivated by an attempt to justify their own prejudices, interests, shortcomings, etc. This is particularly true of those pushing a false narrative of unfairness, discrimination, privilege, etc. It’s propaganda designed to emotionally manipulate turning others against us and us against ourselves. They’re not motivated by benevolence. And those who’ve fallen for it are either foolish or have an axe to grind. My older children all understand this.

    January 7, 2016 at 2:35 pm

  9. Good. They’re liberals. They and their ilk have turned ruined public schools and blasted inner city neighborhoods on white proles for decades. Now they are hoisted on their own petard. Their precious NYC experience has just gotten a whole lot more expensive. Tuition at NYC private schools is anywhere from $8,000 to $40,000 per year, per pupil. Funny irony: many of these SWPL parents are turning to Catholic grammar schools for their children – though they loathe the Catholic Church – because it is the only somewhat affordable alternative to the public schools. Good. Good. Good.

    January 7, 2016 at 2:50 pm

    • I knew a few SWPL families who landed on SI from Brooklyn or Manhattan. They all ended up fleeing for the suburbs when it came down to choosing between public and catholic school. I remember once kindly suggesting to a mom that she consider catholic school and her barely disguised reaction of pure disgust surprised me.

I really doubt parents in million+ $$ Dumbo homes are going to send their kids to a 90% poverty school. It’s just not going to happen. They’ll form coops, homeschool, maybe try to start a charter school or shell out for private.

However it should be pointed out that parochial school tuition is climbing each year and for some schools approaches secular school fees. Tuition assistance is offered only at the less desirable catholic schools serving “underprivileged” populations.

  10. Sadly this needs to happen more often. Only by facing the absurdity of their ideology will swpldom come out the other side with opened eyes. These parents will not have the stomach to become full converts to reality, but their kids will after their childhood has been sufficiently destroyed.

    January 7, 2016 at 3:13 pm

    • Both proles and SWPLs think many blacks and the browner Hispanics, are just like them when provided with the right conditions.

      January 7, 2016 at 3:43 pm

      • Like Communism, diversity can (supposedly) work under the right conditions, but has never worked in any real-world actually existing conditions.

        January 7, 2016 at 4:48 pm

      • Yes, and Asian as in the word “non-sequitur”.

Whites who graduated from top tier, state schools, usually trump Asians at the Ivies in status and achievement. Verbal IQ/reading comprehension is more important and so is extroversion in our western civilization.

        January 7, 2016 at 10:21 pm

  11. I lived near that area for a while. DUMBO proper is a expensive neighborhood with apartments worth over a $1M. Barely 5 blocks away you have projects that are truly dangerous. The area changes very quickly.

I saw a 2 bedroom for sale 5 min walk away from the F Train at York St at Dumbo for 300K. It was near the projects. The owner told me flat out that the previous viewers were a white family that drove in to see the apartment and parked in front of the building. Someone shattered their windshield while they were looking at the apartment!

When I voted the polling station had different sign in desks for different parts of the precinct. The rich DUMBO line had people that looked like rich Europeans living in Soho. The project line looked ghetto and miserable.

    January 7, 2016 at 3:23 pm

    • Fascinating reporting there. Too bad it’s too hot for real established journalism because it’s actually interesting enough to read.

Does anybody think there is a market for rigorously researched and fairly presented, but politically incorrect news? I’d read it. Is there any outlet doing the reporting? The Daily Mail and Breitbart have no compunctions about it, but the don’t exactly have reporters on the ground getting these kinds of stories.

      Thin-Skinned Masta-Beta

      January 7, 2016 at 3:56 pm

      • The Daily Mail and Breitbart are too prole to be taken seriously. There is a small niche market for what you are describing, mainly the people who would read LOB or Unz Review. City Journal and The New Criterion are the most intellectually vigorous, conservative publications. However, they are monthly and not daily.

        January 7, 2016 at 4:18 pm

      • All of the mainstream media is piggybacking on Trump’s realtalk. Yoooge ratings, but they can’t bring themselves to use realtalk themselves.

        January 7, 2016 at 4:29 pm

      • I love City Journal and the New Criterion and Unz Review.
(But I think Steve Sailer has now blocked my comments… they always end up in indefinite moderation limbo…)

I can well imagine Theodore Dalrymple and the like having the courage in their essays to take us into the tawdry gutters that MSM ignores. But if the mass of citizens are to be reached, then middle to high brow essayists need companions in arms to present the facts in a way that is accessible and appealing to large audiences.

        January 7, 2016 at 4:30 pm

      • I don’t give a damn if Daily Mail, BreiBart and Drudge Report are pole. All that matters is that they print the true. Papers like the NYT don’t usually print false news, but they omit many news-worthy stories that don’t fit the leftwing narrative.

        January 7, 2016 at 5:18 pm

      • The other way they control the narrative is that they only print quotes from people who support the correct view. That way they can insert opinion into an article under the guise of merely factually relaying a quote.

    • With the exception of downtown heights, park slope and cobble/carroll gardens, other parts of Brokenlynn are complete dungland. I wholeheartedly believe that the gentrification process in NYC has been complete, and it’s now of a receding tide. A few SWPLs who I know in Forest Hills, had their wives nagging about not being able to live in Manhattan, despite it being a safe neighborhood with high prole types.

      January 7, 2016 at 4:29 pm

      • Forest Hills and other parts of Queens can be fun. But nothing beats Manhattan below 59th St. If you’re moving here away from your family then you want to live in Manhattan. I wouldn’t move to London and LA to live some outer neighborhood no one’s ever heard of.

        January 7, 2016 at 8:22 pm

      • NYC gentrification will cease when Wall street recedes and withers – and that can certainly happen -, and then the ghetto will come back, fast and furious. Some people are delusional in that they think NYC so special that it could endure and thrive in a post Wall street world. It can’t and won’t. New York City’s fabulousness is grasping onto a slim reed.

        January 7, 2016 at 10:08 pm

      • NYC is not at all special, Post-Giuliani, Bloomberg, Millennials coming to age…

        January 8, 2016 at 10:14 am

      • Lincoln Square on the Westside above 59th St is one of the wealthiest neighborhoods in Manhattan. Living around Lincoln Center might not be the most exciting area, but it exudes a true status not afforded to the imbeciles who pay to play in the Lower East Side, bragging about their small tenement apartment above a dive bar, with NAMs nearby.

        January 7, 2016 at 10:28 pm

    • What I said to Lion in a previous comment: Manhattan Centric-New Yorkers who lived in the city during the pre-Giuliani years, are either living the high life now, because they grew up in Manhattan, and their prole parents were smart enough to pass down their apartment to them, those grieving, because like many proles they were stupid not to invest in their children properly, or those who lived in the outer boroughs never got the chance to live the Manhattan life for free.

Many gentrifying SWPLs would love to take up residence in these atrocious complexes that have a majority prole demographic, located in Chelsea 8th Ave Manhattan, where many of the tenants pay about 1K in monthly rent.

      January 7, 2016 at 10:55 pm

  12. Oof. They bought million dollar homes and they get zoned with the projects. And all language that they might use to object has been banned. I would bet that value of their million dollar homes instantly dropped by a third or more in the instant the rezoning decision occurred.

Most memorable quote: “I think people need to get it out of their heads that a successful school is a white school.” Lolz!

The comment section is full of nearly unbelievable idiocy, but then it’s Gothamist. I used to comment there. I was banned in one day, the moment I uttered even a minor HBD truth. People look at this situation, see PS 307 which is 95% NAM and has terrible test scores, PS 8 which is 34% NAM and has very good test scores, and they really, really believe that taking the PS 307 kids and sending more of them to PS 8 will magically raise their scores. You can’t even discuss things with people this stupid.

    January 7, 2016 at 4:39 pm

    • I have experience with sending my kids (who look white, but are to some degree of unknown ethnicity) to a mostly black school. I’m not a liberal but until I stumbled upon HBD blogs I sincerely believed the dreadful academic aptitude of their peers was somehow due to disadvantages in upbringing…. too much soda or potato chips prenatally.

      However, some points of interest:

-despite living in diverse NYC, none of the black kids ever had extended contact with white children (until encountering my daughters). Quite literally mine were the first white kids they ever interacted with in a meaningful way.
-hair obsession. The black girls were obsessed beyond reason with my daughters’ hair. There were playground fights over who got to style my daughters’ hair. Styling and touching their hair became a playground activity akin to tag. Beyond recess, the girls were constantly laying hands on my girls’ hair. I *cannot* underestimate the hair issue.
-surprisingly little hostility, and a lot of fascination. My girls were a source of exoticism. Some of the “bad” kids took them under their wing and fiercely defended them against any perceived slight. One daughter especially was “adopted” in this manner. Maybe it would have been worse if they were boys, or if it wasn’t elementary school. There were plenty of accusations of racism if my girls did well, or of they did poorly (on state tests for example) but the underlying fascination remained.
-shockingly poor academics. I wasn’t expecting much in terms of aptitude but was astounded by how weak the children were academically. There were 8th graders who could barely read. There were 5th graders who couldn’t read– at all. The strongest students (not counting my daughters) were at best equivalent to average in a white/ asian school. My 4th grader beat out the entire school (which went up to grade 8) on a spelling bee.
-the black kids had trouble understanding my daughters when they spoke. Until then I never realized how great the chasm was between black english and standard english. My girls had to constantly rephrase and repeat anything they tried to communicate, and use simpler words. It dawned on me that if they couldn’t understand my daughters, they couldn’t understand the teachers or textbooks either.
-because all the teachers were white I was constantly mistaken for a teacher. Even after a few years there I had parents trying to hand off their young children to me in the morning. Some even slipped cash in my hand.

My kids are at a different school now.

      • A very interesting report.

“despite living in diverse NYC, none of the black kids ever had extended contact with white children (until encountering my daughters). Quite literally mine were the first white kids they ever interacted with in a meaningful way.”

Despite all the people of color there it sounds like an astonishing absence of diversity.

On the hair thing it sounds mostly harmless, but we can’t forget that if little white children express similar innocent curiosity about black kids it would be scandalous racism much bigger than mere microagression.

Sounds like the kids were young and innocent enough before the intrasexual rivalry emerging after puberty.

The gulf that separates breaks the heart. But what can be done?

        January 7, 2016 at 10:16 pm

      • Very interesting. Black people on blogs not infrequently and rather loudly complain about fascinated white people touching their hair in a raciss way, which I’ve always found a bit strange. I’ve never felt the need to do so, nor can I remember seeing it, so where does that come from? But perhaps they are simply engaging in a bit of projection.

    January 7, 2016 at 4:47 pm

    • Very few, they are becoming exotic and approaching extinction, which is a pity, because I like white Americans.

Last week I’d experienced a really tragic event. My boss calls me up on that freezing day as I’m about to park my van and sends me on an emergency service call. I can’t believe the address – it’s my gym! What’s he doing servicing my gym? It could only be that the Jews had bought the place. I got a bad feeling in my heart as I was driving there. I knew this couldn’t be good for my gym. To cut to the chase, the Jews bought it, I even know the new owner, they took the 2nd floor for the offices, all the equipment is dumped on the first floor, there is no room to move, the place looks disgusting, I went to this gym for years and it’s gonna be gone shortly, I wouldn’t go there once my membership is up. That was terrible and made me feel antisemitic. I just want my normal American gym back! They destroyed my community. There was such a special crowd going there from 10-12 pm and I’m sure at other times also. This is tragic. It was a smart move to buy that property though, I’ll give that to him. I’m gonna ask the new owner why the he’ll he did it? A lot of people there don’t have cars how will they go to gym now? I tell you mates, enjoy your gym while you can, because tomorrow it, and even you, may not be here anymore.

      • non-religious jewish proles are declining from southern brokenlane, like their less prolier counterparts in brownstone park slope.

  16. Where my grandmother lives in Ridgewood, Queens I don’t see many “native” white Americans left except for the ones who’ve been living there for 30-60 years. The newer arrivals seem to be all Eastern European immigrants, with increasing Hispanics as you go South.

  17. I work with a couple who left NYC after their daughter was born. The husband was originally from Canada and the family moved to a small city in western Canada. I suppose it must seem like the back of beyond to the wife (a NYC native). But here they don’t have to send their daughter to private school. (Good thing too because the only private schools here are Catholic, and maybe one evangelical Christian school.)

    • Canada has an East Asian problem only in their big Anglo-Phone metropolises of Toronto and Vancouver. They are not found in the prairie city of Saskatoon in any significant numbers, where Metis and Natives are the majority non-White group, and Winnipeg, which is the Canadian variant of our Detroit or Pittsburgh, without the black problem. Montreal and Quebec, while beautiful and culturally stimulating, money focused Asiatics have no niche to call their own, where they can be of any concern to the French Quebecois. Atlantic Canada, which is the United Kingdom of the New World of Ireland or Scotland, even less. I have yet to encounter a Chinatown at -1 degree freezing temperatures.

  18. Yeah, this is gonna blow up REAL SOON HERE. I’m not sure exactly what they’re trying to do, but this whole integration thing has gone RACE WAR now. That dumbass Obama started it and now Mayor Wilhelm “DiBlasio” is ramping up the heat. Hell’s Kitchen is gonna blow up. I doubt those are scrawny bookish White kids they’re sending. It might be the sons and daughters of some old fashioned Guidos with guns. The Sopranos are gonna go old school on their black monkey ass if they try and touch their daughters. Nomesayin Kanye Karcrashian?

  19. Schadenfreude. I don’t feel sorry for these parents at all. These SWPLs are the ones which support socially liberal policies because it doesn’t affect them. Now let them deal with what middle-class kids have been through for the past 20 years – a majority-minority school. I hope they integrate all the NYC schools so these blind people can experience the effect of their voting records.
