  1. Why not fly? So you get stuck and have an adventure. You make it fun, don’t be a sour puss! Look, my Saturday night flight got cancelled, so I hope to flight Monday night, but meanwhile I got to spend 2 days with my mother relaxing and I have an excuse to extend my vacation by 3 days! You turn all these things to your advantage and have fun. To be adaptable and flexible is a Jewish trait. You surprise me, mate.

My friend meanwhile had an tryist with a Romanian stewardess. The both got ‘stuck’, so to speak, lol. She is actually very nice, but not for him and he also thinks so. Now if you are grazing sheep in the mountains of Tajikistan and a blizzard strikes, it can be a different story. But in the US? It’s no problem.

    • It was a lot worse than merely spending an extra day someplace.

      • Sounds like a blog post to me.

Hear, hear! He won’t do it, though. I don’t know why Lion is so secretive.

In my mid-twenties, I once slept in a major Midwestern airport on the way home from visiting a friend. There was a huge snowstorm, and no planes were getting out… but apparently they found a small “window” in the storm, and my plane DID take off – but I missed the PA announcement.

Nowadays, with kids, I never travel in the winter either by plane OR car.

    • Tryist? Is that “tryst” in Yiddish?

      January 25, 2016 at 10:55 am

      • Lol. The phone is good, but the spellchecker is low IQ. I trust the you guys will figure stuff out. I’m flying out tonight! Mates, flight insurance is so worth it! United canceled on me, so I canceled on them and booked Swiss air!

      • Yakov sounds prole as always. Is he traveling to Marco Polo Land of Central Asia?

If he decides to visit exotic Tajikistan to meet his future wife, then he’ll out SWPL everyone else. Perhaps, he’ll travel to neighboring Bukhara in Uzekiiiprolestan and check out the local women. Caucasoid Women with visible Mongoloid ancestry are not my cup of tea!

      • JS,

Mongols are pretty smart and pretty strong. There is nothing wrong with them. The ones that convert to evangelical Christianity are especially nice. Stop dissing people and start paying attention to their good qualities.

  2. I got stuck about two years ago changing planes in Chicago when a big storm hit ORD. My wife got us a room at the airport Sheraton, which turned out to be across the parking lot from Nick’s Fish Market, my favorite Chicago seafood restaurant. There were about three other occupied tables in the whole place. We had a fantastic dinner and left early the next morning. When life gives you lemons….

  3. After having to dig out my car from this recent storm, I realized that my attempts to turn a three day weekend in February into a trip to Chicago may not be a prudent choice of resources.

    • Duh! In the winter you either go skiing or to Jamaica. Who drives to Chicago in the snow? It snowing in Jerusalem now. Lol. This forced my kids to rebook in Ashdod, which is where I wanted to be to begin with! Lol, lol, lol! Lion, didn’t I tell blizzards and snow is good? Tsunami is a different story though, because people and animals and even fish die, some birds too, and that is no good.

  4. brb, logging into my database to cross-reference all the people who have had a flight delayed AND eaten at Bonefish Grill within the past week.

Just kidding, I get the secrecy thing. I hate anyone knowing anything about me. Secrecy is high class.

    • I was brought up with secrecy everywhere. Nothing high class about secrecy. Always hated it. High class is about tact, not secrecy. Secrecy is creepy. Low class people mistake tact for secrecy. I’m a probe and I wear my heart on my sleeve. Hate phonies and putting on airs.

  6. I live near the Sarasota (FL) airport. Big reduction in the number of flights going in and out.
