Trump’s victory speech

That was an incredibly great speech. The best campaign oratory I’ve ever heard. It was full of energy, it made Trump sound like a winner, and he painted a picture of how great America is going to be after he becomes president.

Trump gets a big boost in SC just on the basis of that speech which a lot of people probably watched.

  1. Wasn’t much of a speech. Actually it seemed lie he was talking to the voters.

It really looks like the people who go to the Trump Events are having a blast.

  2. The beginning is like an entertainment award acceptance speech. It’s all just thanks. And then he talks about how everyone should just self finance their campaigns like he does (which is an insane thing to say). And then he talks about how he’s going to increase legal immigration. And then he says New Hampshirites are a bunch of drug addicts. And then a bunch of things he’s going to repeal and improve without any specifics. And he closes it out by promising to arm inner city blacks (among others).

I think you feel excited and optimistic about his victory and are attributing it to his speech.

  3. he said he was going to increase legal immigration?

well he does have a tendency to say stupid stuff and then walk it back.

    • He just said what he always says which is that he’s going to eliminate illegal immigration but that there is still going to be legal immigration. It’s ambiguous language. He’s never given specifics about immigration and I fear that he’s setting us up to betray us on this issue.

      • Trump is always going out of his way to slam Merkel, even talking about Germans rising up to overthrow her. I don’t think any of the other candidates even acknowledge that the US is historically European or feel any connection to Western Civ as a whole. Trump knows the jig. I think he wants only highly valuable, self sufficient immigrants coming in from now on.

      • He’s been fairly specific on immigration.

  4. Meanwhile on the Democrat side they are pandering to black extremists. Sanders is going to meet with Al Sharpton for breakfast. Hillary

“Clinton is set to campaign with African-American victims of law enforcement deaths, like Trayvon Martin’s mother and Eric Garner’s mother. And the campaign, sources said, is expected to push a new focus on systematic racism, criminal justice reform, voting rights and gun violence that will mitigate concerns about her lack of an inspirational message.”

    • Is Trump ever going to make this an issue? I know he’s on record as supporting affirmative action.

    • Just unobjectionable middle-of-the-road stuff, to be contrasted with Trump’s racist, sexist, xenophobic (HuffPo) extremism.

  5. Agree.

Best speech of the campaign. Really high energy. Loved it.

  6. I couldn’t imagine being a white Democrat and having to deal with Al Sharpton at this point, the noontide of his power on the eve of the South Carolina Dem primary. Obama ignored and kept his distance from Sharpton for 6 years until after the 2014 mid-terms, but has had him in the White House something like 60 times in the past year.

When Sharpton and Bernie meet tomorrow I’m certain that there will be some invoices for “charitable donations” to all of Al’s organizations. Bernie will have to just bend over and take it, as he is so wont to do.

  7. Anyone have a working link to the speech?

  8. Based on the criteria for the SC debate and the NH results the maximum number of candidates will be 5: Trump, Cruz, Rubio, Bush and Kasich.

I think this is probably good for Trump in the sense that the 3 cuckateers are all there to suck up every last anti-Trump vote. However, it also means that Cruz is the only traditional conservative, the only libertarian and the only viable alternative to Trump.

So it should be an interesting week.
