Democratic debate!

Question about why so many black men are in prison. Lots of HBD-denialism here.

* * *

Well that was boring. Two clueless liberals arguing about who’s more liberal and who kissed Obama’s ass more. But one gets the impression that Bernie actually believes most of what he says while Hillary will say anything to get elected.

  1. Let’s talk about how white liberals are going to react to black voters stealing Bernie’s nomination.

I for one, don’t think they will take it well.

    • They will blame their white privilege. Maybe blame the too-white Bernie ad in Iowa. Or maybe they will blame Republicans for failing to adequately fund public education.

But black people cannot be blamed, they are blameless victims of a racist society.

      • That’s a propaganda video for the ages. “Our problem is that White people inherit property, while Blacks go to jail. Affirmative action will fix this.”

I liked the stereotypical Asian doctor handing out the cup for the drug test.

Pretty telling that they had the White kid riding a conveyor belt while the other kids had to run the race: whoever made the video thinks that “making it” is sitting on your ass while you are carried around by a machine built and maintained by somebody else. “Hey kids, agitate for hope and change; and after a couple more interventions from a gov’t program, you too will find your way onto the conveyor belt of life that will take you to Elysium and beyond.”

      • Its interesting to check out this potential schism.

Charles Blow had a meandering, poorly reasoned column called
        “Stop Bernie-Splaining to Black Voters”

        http://www.nytimes.com/2016/02/11/opinion/campaign-stops/stop-bernie-splaining-to-black-voters.html

The interesting part is that it has generate 2000 comments of the “no wait” “hey what about” variety.

The Number 1 industry in black America is Victimhood. And they dont want anyone horning in on the action. If some skinny white college in keffiyeh can be classified as a victim then why even bother!
The movement of the day is supposed to be “BLM” not “Feel the Burn”, damn it!

On the other hand, teh college students are surprised that South Carolina blacks arent enthusiastically turning out for the Magnetic Zeros. Whats can that be about?

What if the Democrat frankenstein coalition actually has different values? And maybe the blacks and Hispanics arent so found of homosexuality and feminism. How long before they are coming apart.

    • 1. Black voters aren’t stealing anything. They are just voting as a block, because the Democratic Party is their cathedral, and it’s all they have. That’s smart politics. Whites should do the same….
      2. White liberals have an infinite capacity for racial masochism, but the young Bernie idealists don’t. I’ve seen this before. A passionate young white idealist who believes in non-racism gets a rude shock when they perceive that black race-men do not share their non-racism. Some of them may end up in the Trump camp.

Bernie has no chance of beating Hillary. It’s all spin because the media want a story. Likewise Biden isn’t gonna come in to save the day for the white working class vote. The Democratic party heads towards its demise as the party of gender and race identity. It jumped the shark, and now the shark will die.

  7. Bernie: cops who break the law must be held accountable. For some reason I can’t see him getting as outraged about criminals.

I realized tonight the difference between Democrats and Republicans.

His “villains” like rich people, police, etc. have good and bad qualities. Life is unimaginable without capitalists, corporations, and police, even though they’re not perfect.

The criminals liberals love and welfare bums, etc. have no good redeeming features, no good case for their existence. If they disappeared tomorrow, it would be a net plus for everyone else in the world. That’s why liberals are most wrong, they are on the side of the absolute worst people.

It’s essential that a Republican get elected. The Democrats have been fanning the flames of Ferguson since 2014, have been consistently arguing for “prison reform,” and have given every excuse they could muster for black criminality.

Five years ago, most liberals could privately admit that, yes, blacks do commit more crimes. Now you have SJWs screaming about how racist it is to even think that blacks commit crimes.

In 2014 and 2015, the murder rates surged. If we get Hillary or Bernie as president trying to court black votes by being soft on crime, then forget it, the crime rates will likely go up and doom untold numbers of people.

And that’s not even talking about accepting Syrian refugees…

  8. This is really the first time I listened to Bernie speak for more than five seconds. Man, he has SUCH a New York thing going on. If this President thing doesn’t work out, he’d be perfect as an old man in a Woody Allen movie.

Hillary is just unbearable. Two minutes of hearing them talk about foreign policy and Sanders seemed sensible and Clinton just another neocon bloodsucker.

Oooh, a question on European migrants!

Hillary: “must prevent tragedies like drownings! We should take refugees ourselves! We should help Europe pay for them!” What a total jerk.

Bernie: “I visited a refugee camp. Oh it was so sad. I very strongly disagree that we should not take refugees! That is not what America is about!” Sentimental old fool. But he at least said the Arab nations “have a responsibility.” (Yeah, and?)

Couple of nitwits. Sanders is an honest nitwit, Hillary a purely corrupt one.

      • Neocon is not a code word for Jewish. Clinton is not Jewish, and neither are John McCain and Lindsey Graham, the purest examples of neocon stupidity.

Neocon to me means the moronic and childlike belief in remaking nations in our image without recognizing that a nation consists of its people who have attributes and customs that are likely to cause these nation-remaking projects to fail.

It was neocons who have been eager to collapse ordered rule in favor of ‘democracy’ in Egypt and Libya. In the case of Egypt, the interests of the neocons actually went against the interests of Israel, which liked the stability of Mubarak.

I go drinking with a Jewish psychologist who considers neocon to be code for Jewish. I tried to tell him that was nonsense but all humans are genetically programmed to get defensive about their own gene pool so there’s no point debating rationally

There are tons of gentile neocons but they tend to have low IQs while the Jewish neocons tend to be brilliant causing some to view the former as just brainwashed or bought puppets of the latter

What do you think of Pat Buchanan’s belief in remaking South Vietnam into a democracy? He’s never apologized for that. The neocons came into a Republican Party that was very intellectually dominated by Buchananite anti-Communism, and his naive belief that Democracy could be shoved down the throats of everyone, including Vietnamese peasants. Yet no one has ever criticized him for his vocal and consistent support of Vietnam.

      • Correct, many gentile neo-cons are like the blacks of the liberal establishment. Jews from both parties on average, are shrewder than their gentile white counterparts. I said “shrewd”, not smarter.

        February 12, 2016 at 2:19 pm

      • Correct, many gentile neo-cons are like the blacks of the liberal establishment.

Not really. Blacks benefit from liberal policies overall. Gentiles are hurt by neocon policies. So Gentile neocons are more analogous to black Republicans. Both have low IQs, even for their race because both are not only wrong in terms of humanity’s interests, but also wrong in terms of their ethnic interests, If the black Republican is also poor, he is even wrong in terms of his individual interests, and thus has an extra low IQ (wrong on three levels)

Black liberals are more analogous to white nationalists. Both are defending their ethnic interests against groups they perceive as much more powerful.

How about instead of you wasting your time trying to figure out whether his comments are antisemitic, you just delete any comments he makes going forward?

Neocon is not a code word for Jewish.

By itself, that might not be proof he’s antisemitic (but ‘bloodsucking’ is a bit difficult to explain away…) but he’s made other antisemitic comments.

Neocon to me means the moronic and childlike belief in remaking nations in our image without recognizing that a nation consists of its people who have attributes and customs that are likely to cause these nation-remaking projects to fail.

Going by that standard Woodrow Wilson and FDR were also ‘neocons’. Or, perhaps, neocons are Wilsonians.

It was neocons who have been eager to collapse ordered rule in favor of ‘democracy’ in Egypt and Libya. In the case of Egypt, the interests of the neocons actually went against the interests of Israel, which liked the stability of Mubarak.

Not every foreign policy school outside isolationism is ‘neocon’.

The disasters you list weren’t their fault. At the time they were out of power and their roles were limited to editorials.

Clinton supported the Arab Spring because she’s a left-liberal internationalist. Obama, though an atheist, deliberately tried to install Muslim terrorist governments through overthrow of more moderate, pro-American (except Syria), regimes because Obama sympathizes deeply with the goals of ISIS and the Muslim Brotherhood.

      • “If you don’t use your brain, what good is it?”

Exactly. All those leftoid smarts are worse than useless if they just use it to rationalize away everything unpleasant rather than pursue truth as it is. On most progressive topics, the actual truth is understandable to a seven year old, but the theological doctrine of rationalizations to explain away every bit of truth takes intelligence and years of learning.

These leftoids basically self-lobotomize. I can say gender is this reproductive thingy based in DNA and I’m all good. The leftoid must devote millions of brain cells the constantly evolving theology of gender, blocking them off from constructive use.

Leftoids are, in a sense less intellectual than small children. At least children are capable of learning. Leftism is an elaborate defense mechanism against what is true.

  13. Even the terms of the debate are messed up. It’s an odd feeling to be so outraged on behalf of the non-criminal African Americans. (As opposed to the other black groups – anyone else get annoyed at Eric Holder playing the race card when he’s clearly not black, his parents begged to be allowed into the US rather than being dragged there in chains and they then spent his childhood and youth keeping him as far away as possible from African Americans?)

The white voters get talk on jobs, the economy, immigration…Black voters get talk on how the various white pols are going to get their – kuh-LEER-lee criminal, apparently – black sons out of prison. Because it’s not like these black criminals mostly prey on other blacks or anything. It’s not like the crime rates talk of probability and most African Americans would prefer to not, y’know, get murdered and see all the jobs get driven out of their neighborhoods – or, indeed,to inflict that on other people.

Yes, folks, that’s right: *I* am telling the Dem pols to STHU and talk to blacks like any other voter. Even with race differences, their interests – at least with the ones who are both eligible to vote and likely do so – aren’t *that* different from, say, the able-and-willing-to-vote parts of the white working/lower middle/middle classes.

Or, at the very least, could they not talk about all the oppressed minorities being done down by the (insert preferred villain here) system then castigate Trump for “dividing the country”?

Thanks for the heads up on the Leovy book. Interesting thesis: a lot of the murders in the black community are revenge murders. The state does nothing about a murder (why?), leading to revenge, and on and on. Very interesting.

(I think that if Trump gets schlonged by Michael Brown during a general election debate, he should schlong back with Tyshawn Lee. Any realist who doesn’t know who Tyshawn is, should. He’s the perfect rebuttal to BLM bullshit.)

  14. Ignore the Progressivism Inc. pabulum and this makes some fascinating points, especially that what TNC wants doesn’t even make sense on its own terms:

    http://www.nakedcapitalism.com/2016/02/adolph-reed-on-sanders-coates-and-reparations.html

“So one head scratching aspect of this is what do people like Coates imagine is to be gained by calling the redistribution program racial and calling it “reparations”?

“The charitable or benign interpretation of what he and others imagine the power of this rhetoric to be, is that there is something cathartic about it like Black Power. I’m thinking for instance of “say Black Lives Matter” or “say Sandra Bland’s name”. It’s like the demand to call it reparations which doesn’t seem to make any sense whatsoever.

“It doesn’t add anything to calls for redistribution if anything, it could undercut them. Since there’s nothing (less) solidaristic than demanding a designer type program that will redistribute only to one’s own group and claim that that group (especially when times are getting tougher and economic insecurity is deepening for everybody) it seems like it’s guaranteed not to get off the ground and seems almost like a police action…

“…Coates makes this stuff up as he goes along: by his own account, he read Baldwin and wanted to write like Baldwin and his editor would check him and say “Look, you’re writing these passages which don’t mean anything whatsoever” since he was so focussed on wanting to write like Baldwin absent having anything in particular to say…

“…But I’ll say this and I’ll say this as a Sanders supporter-I’ll come clean on that. The idea that Bernie Sanders becomes the target of race-line activists now, and not Hillary Clinton, is just beyond me and it smells. It smells to high heaven…The only thing you can say is that this is a class program. That this is a program that expresses and connects with the interests, or the world view, if not interests-although they do come together-of an aspiring or upwardly mobile stratum of the black and other colored PMC (professional managerial class) that scoffs and sneers at programs of material redistribution…

“…I can imagine going to talk to a long displaced steel worker in Western Pennsylvania whose fretting now about further increase in economic insecurity around the fracking stuff. And you’re going to explain to him or her that because of slavery they’ve got to be on the giving end of some transfer payments that will go to recompense blacks for harms done in the past.”

    • Thanks for that link, very interesting.

“The idea that Bernie Sanders becomes the target of race-line activists now, and not Hillary Clinton, is just beyond me and it smells. It smells to high heaven.”

That’s exactly what is happening on Twitter right now. All the BLM activists are ripping into Sanders supporters with utmost relish and glee. You can’t criticize John Lewis, he’s an icon, black black blackety black. I’m telling you some Sanders supporters are gonna rebel.

      • “Who is this Adolph Reed?”

He’s a politics professor in Pennsylvania. Best I can tell, he’s a talented tenth type who’s at least trying to square his genuine preference for blacks with the knowledge that the poor to middling whites are also suffering – often in much the same ways. At the very least, he seems to have enough of a grasp of arithmetic that he can see that turning his social justice agenda in to a blackety black black black path is really stupid because it means there’s no reason for members of other races to join in. Live by the tribe, die by tribe. If black activists won’t fight for the other groups, then they’re going to be fighting on their own, and they do not have the numbers, organizational skills, wealth or connections to go it alone. Divide and conquer.

From what I can see, basically, he likes his people but doesn’t hate America and has a triple digit IQ.(I also disagree with him on a lot, but he seems like a vaguely decent sort.)

      • It’s pretty much an open secret that the traditional civil rights activists (Sharpton, Reverend Bacon, et. al) are shake down artists. Is there any evidence that Black Lives matter are the same?

  15. I recorded the debate and haven’t watched it yet, but from the clips I saw, it seems like every time Sanders criticized Hillary on anything, she would accuse Obama of doing the same thing and then imply Sanders was being critical of Obama. The message to black voters was clear: This grumpy old man can not be trusted to honor the legacy of the first black president, unlike me, who loves and honors the president. But those of us who followed the 2007-2008 Democratic primary will recall the visceral hatred the Clinton’s team had for Obama, culminating in a comment so dark and ominous that it might have cost her the vice presidency:

So for her to now cling to Obama and accuse Sanders of disrespecting him is the height of hypocrisy..

  16. It’s just the same old silly season campaigning. Democrats campaign as liberals, Republicans campaign as conservatives, and both govern as moderates.

  17. Latest poll has Trump 36, Cruz 20. This is the Augusta Chronical and in late Jan they had it Trump 32, Cruz 18.

Carson is down to 5 but some idiot Christians are apparently going to stick with him to the bitter end, which is good because it weakens Cruz and Rubio.

Rubio is still at 15, where he was before his New Hampshire debate malfunction. Bush 11 and Kasich 9.

SC’s a surprisingly strong state for the establishment. They consolidate at 35% in the polls and will probably get closer to 40%.

I’d like to see Trump get 40% here, but that is gonna be a tall order.

As usual it’s about turnout. Trump needs those “I’m sick of the same old garbage” citizens to become actual voters not merely complainers.

They have no excuse now. Trump is taking the hits. He isn’t Romney.
