Fox News SC poll!

Trump 32%
Cruz 19%
Rubio 15%
Carson 9%
Bush 9%
Kasich 6%

Live interview poll conducting 2/15 to 2/17, likely SC primary voters, all after the SC debate. Margin of error only 3.5 percentage points.

Because it’s a live-interview poll, I predict Trump will outperform this in actual voting.

I think this relatively weak showing for Trump compared to previous SC polls indicates that he was hurt a little by his attack on W. Nevertheless, After winning SC by a comfortable margin, and winning the NV caucus as well, he goes into Super Tuesday with dominant momentum and the possibility of a complete sweep. After that happens, I don’t see how he could possibly lose the nomination.

Because of that, the GOPe will no doubt put intense pressure on Bush and Kasich to drop out in hopes that could boost Rubio on Super Tuesday. We will see if those two actually drop out. Those two probably aren’t eager to take one for the team.

  1. I think that Carson is just staying in the race to get revenge against Cruz. He knows that his voters would break his way. Cruz is a snake!

  2. I hope when the call does come from someone in the GOPe, like from the RNC, the person will tell Bush that he’s a low energy loser and needs to drop out for the good of the party.

  3. what’s very interesting is that the establishment candidates consolidate at ~40% in SC which is about 7 points higher than they do nationally. It’s counter intuitive, but SC is a very establishment friendly state.

After SC is where we truly get into Trump country. Hopefully the stupid TruCons don’t steal Texas from us.
