How goes Minnesota for Trump?

Minnesota has a caucus on Super Tuesday. There hasn’t been a Republican Minnesota poll since January, which showed that Rubio was ahead of Trump.

Well a lot has happened since January and you can’t go by what people thought in January. Since then, Trump won New Hampshire, South Carolina, and Nevada. Many candidates previously in the race dropped out. Given that Trump does especially well in blue states, and proved in Nevada that he can win big in a caucus state, I predict that Minnesota caucus-goers vote for Trump despite that poll in January.

  1. The fact that Rubio was ahead on any poll is news to me! They might be stifling the pollsters in Minn. so that if Rubio wins they’ll make a big deal out of it. I have to admit I’m worried.

    • Rubio will almost certainly win the Stupid Mormons of UT. The people of UT are even more disgusting than the people of IA.

  4. I do sort of wonder if Trump has managed to win both people who don’t like minorities and people who don’t care about minorities but are sick of political correctness and would like to see a moderate Republican. Toss out just enough statements to make them both think you’re on their side…

  5. I lived there for many years…Minnesota Republicans are strange…half, Iowa-like religious nuts; another significant portion strict constitutional style republicans; another portion moderate-establishment types.

The Somalian Refugees that have been foisted on the Twin Cities are broadly detested…just an awful group; the Minnesotans have also had to put up with the Hmong (unlike other Asian groups: this is a violent, non-productive group…)

There is probably a receptive audience in Minnesota for Trump’s message.

    I think he wins.

    • “The Somalian Refugees that have been foisted on the Twin Cities are broadly detested…just an awful group”

Yep. Now they are here? What is to be done?

      February 28, 2016 at 12:39 pm

    • I can’t figure out how Somali refugees of arid/equatorial origin ended up in places like Minnesota or Maine, rather than down South. Don’t get me wrong, I’d rather have them up there in Minn. than here with us where we are already NAM-heavy.

But why in the world did the SJW do-gooders who spearheaded these resettlements pick a place so cold, uninviting and un-vibrant, where you don’t even want to go outside at all for 7 months out of the year? These people have to be going nuts spending so much time indoors, they surely didn’t do that very much in Somalia with the heavy heat and lack of central AC. The only way these bored people can probably pass the time is abusing each other, tweeting in support of ISIS or sharpening their female circumcision knives.

      • How “refugees” end up where is a strange thing to consider. There are ostensibly private organizations, some religiously affiliated, which exist on gov’t handouts. I think some of it is simply a matter of happenstance.

Regarding SJWs, it’s useless to associate anything they believe with reality. Which brings me to this, somewhat but not totally OT:

Reading this makes my head spin. Compared to this scam, Trump University is actually minor. In the article you literally have everyone scamming everyone else, in pursuit of a unicorn. And meanwhile, China is raising educated, stable kids, who will inherit the world.

      • Because Lutheran Social Services is located in Minnesota and they are one of the big “charities” that bring them over. It should be noted that Lutheran Social Services gets 90% of its funding, including the lavish salaries of the executives, from the Federal Government. It is essentially a left wing, government funded NGO that destroys the cultural fabric of Minnesota in exchange for cash.

        February 28, 2016 at 3:31 pm

      • They were placed there in order to destroy a place that was a semi-utopia. A poor person could purchase or rent a house in a poor part of town and not be surrounded by NAMs. That poor person would send his kids to school without worry of attacks from the “other.” While that person would be surrounded by fellow poor whites, that person would not be a stranger in his own land.

And why place them in Philadelphia, Detroit, or Memphis? Those places are already broken. The purpose is to destroy or fracture the non-vibrant.

Why does the US State Department, NGOs, and George Soros fronts push for Gay Pride Parades in Belgrade, Warsaw, and Moscow? Because these are the last European resistors to the new agenda. They must accept sodomy just as Minnesota must accept East Africans in order to destroy and fracture social cohesion.

      • They “ended up” in very white areas of very white states. Just a coincidence, I’m sure.

    • I wonder if the Somalis are creating a new drug market in Minnesota by smuggling in Khat.

      February 28, 2016 at 4:03 pm

    • When I read about things like Lutherans placing Somalis in Minnesota, I weep for my country.

  6. Anti-Trump article in The Times of Israel.

What’s interesting is that 90% of the comments take an opposing view.

    • No one in Israel reads that American Jewish shit. Their top newspaper is Yediot Ahronot. a nationalist newspaper. Their readers regularly vote for Israeli Trumps. Not one thing Trump says would be out of line in Israel.

  7. I turned on my Apple TV and eventually, in a spirit of reckless curiosity, clicked a link that said “Live stream: Hillary Clinton rally”. Yet what appears? A Trump rally. Sign of the times.

(Packed outdoor audience patiently awaiting the Don. They’re playing Rolling Stones, lyrics “you can’t always get what you want”. Unorthodox choice for a political rally, I say.)

    February 28, 2016 at 5:03 pm

    • Donald Trump is doing two and three large rallies a day while appearing on every TV and radio program that will have him. Its quite something. He was supposed to be on Michael Savage on Friday. Savage regretfully announced that Trump had to postpone because his schedule was just too full. And then boom, Trump made it on anyway.

  8. Minnesotans can be very stupid.

They are extremely capable, having built and maintained an enormous metropolitan area in an inhospitable part of the continent. However, they suffer from severe pathological altruism and engage in fierce status-signaling, which is a deadly combination in our current political climate.

Proles want bigger boats than their neighbors; upper-middles want bigger houses on more fashionable lakes; everyone wants you to know that they donate to Minnesota Public Radio; ELCA Lutherans want you to know that they’re not like those other backward Lutherans in the Missouri Synod or (heave forbid) the Wisconsin Synod; everyone looks down on evangelicals, so Minnesota evangelicals double-down on “anti-racism” and “celebrating diversity,” so that they can be progressive, too.

Minnesotan tastes are unsophisticated by the standards of the coasts. Hunting, fishing, and canoeing are wildly popular. Bars are packed with people of all ages every weekend. Collectively, Minnesotans use their progressive politics as an excuse to feel superior to other middle-Americans, whom they otherwise resemble very closely. They have a bewilderingly high opinion of themselves.

Unfortunately, the intense status-competition via politics is ruining everything that was once nice about their hard-won civilization on the prairie.

    • SQ: Having lived there for many years (now back in the Northeast), this a spot on comment.

Minnesotans (in general) tend to be self righteous and passive aggressive, without much in the way of a sense of humor…they sound exactly like the characters in the movie “Fargo”…but for the love of God: do not point this out (if you want to keep friends there, etc)

  9. Minnesota is cuckservative central. It’s where Lutheran ministries is trying to import as many Somalis as possible for Religious reasons. I would expect Kasich or Rubio to do really well there.
