I wish I had bet more on Trump

There was a contract at PredictIt that Trump would get at least 50% in every state tonight. I thought he had no chance at getting 50% in Maryland. Looks like I was wrong about that.

Trump is even beating Kasich in Montgomery County, Maryland, where I thought Kasich would win.

Even I underpredicted Trump.

Tonight bodes very well for Indiana, Trump will be going in there with strong momentum.

* * *

Based on tonight’s romp by Trump, Trump leading in polls in Indiana, and Trump have a very commanding lead over Cruz in California (Trump at 49% in two most recent polls), it’s likely that Trump wins more than 1237 delegates.

  1. I wish I had bet more on Trump

    Even better if you were an unbound Republican delegate available for Trump to bribe.;

  2. Betting is a vice, I told you. Had you not betted, you would have no regrets. Get some bison and celebrate. There is a kosher bison sausage I’d found, wanna get it now to celebrate Trump’s victory. What wine you are supposed to have with bison, JS?

    April 26, 2016 at 11:02 PM

    • You can toast your certified Kashrut sausage with Manischewitz wine.

Of course, Manischewitz is prole. I’m sure you knew that!

There was once a black co-worker who bought a few bottles of the sweet grape variety. Anything accessible and agreeable to blacks is pretty much prolish, if one wants to measure its potential status.

      April 27, 2016 at 10:41 AM

      • Blacks like watermelon and freida chicken what’s the problem?

        April 27, 2016 at 12:58 PM

      • @JS, I chose things on life based on thieir inate qualities, not on hype and convention. You should have noticed it by now, if you were paying attention as you should. I suggest that you do the same. Life is better this way. Who buys Manishewitz now days? Not anybody I know. Incidentally, I have good time with blacks because I share their extrovertion and gregareousness. Blacks can be fun, just not as workers or neighbours. You have to expand your mind.

  3. These results are impressive. I had doubted Trump’s staying ability. I think I was wrong.

    April 26, 2016 at 11:30 PM

  4. After each one of Trump’s romps I go to RealClearPolitics to see how quickly Poderetz, Goldberg, Shapiro, Williamson, Will or Kristol can get out a column explaining how Trump can still be beaten. This time, all I got was some dude named Ryun at a rag called The Resurgent. Ryun? Sounds like some kinda misspelled Mick name. What is it with these Ryans or Ryuns and Trump?

I used to regularly go to LegalInsurrection, but that place got so crazy pro-Cruz and anti-Trump that it became unbearable. I’m sure they are running non-stop pieces about how Trump can still be beat.

    April 27, 2016 at 12:15 AM

    • The Resurgent is Erick Erickson’s new site after he left Red State. As the very model of a modern cuckservative (love that word!) of course they are going to be the last bastion of anti Trumpism. I expect them to continue their anti Trump attacks after Trump wins the nomination.

  5. I just went to Cruz’s page to see what people were saying. All the top comments are bashing him. He can’t even win his own FB page. LOL

    April 27, 2016 at 12:59 AM

  6. I bet the max on Trump when he was at 40! Sold about 1/3 of my position at prices between 60 and 80.

    April 27, 2016 at 1:00 AM

    • I tried to bet on Trump to win the nomination when he was at 45, but Predict It said the contract was maxed out.

Have him at 29 to win the general though.

  7. Politico shows TRUMP now needs 287 more delegates out of 622 remaining, less than half. Meanwhile, Cruz would need 677 more delegates to get the nomination on his own.

Also, Trump now has 950 delegates while the rest of the field together, including uncommiteds and the lone Fiorina delegate, has 957.

    TRUMP 2016.

  8. His opponents have a clear strategy already drawn up, though.

But his opponents showed no signs of giving up. Anticipating Trump’s big night Tuesday, Kasich and Cruz struck a surprise deal over the weekend in which Kasich promised not to campaign…, and Cruz vowed not to compete … .

  9. Your opinion please Lion, how much success do you think will be garnered from the already collapsing alliance between Lyin’ Ted and Kascih, in Indiana in particular?

    April 27, 2016 at 2:51 AM

  10. If Trump wins the nomination, that is going to be some frickin epic political theater. I’d watch a Trump vs. Hillary debate

    April 27, 2016 at 3:35 AM

    • Same here. I can’t wait to see St. Strokes-a-Lot, apoplectic, literally hit the floor after a deep shiv from The Donald, foam pouring out gaping mouth, eyes blank and glassy, as her (at least) second stroke erases whatever’s left of her executive function. I’ll make an animated gif of it to be my computer and cell phone wallpaper ’til Kingdom come.

      April 27, 2016 at 4:45 PM

  11. What would you think of Susana Martinez for Trump’s VP? Popular in NM, Hispanic, female, relatively good on immigration. I personally wanted Jim Webb, though.

    April 27, 2016 at 10:04 AM

    • Jim Webb is a scumbag who voted for the Gang of 8 immigration bill. I absolutely despise Jim Webb and don’t understand the love reactionaries have for the guy.

I’d like Kasich as VP. He would be a huge help amongst the morons in the mid west and would bring along parts of the GOPe. Also, Kasich as VP leaves the TruCons with absolutely nothing, which is priority number 1. TruCons must be entirely annihilated.

      April 27, 2016 at 11:34 AM

      • Kasich would be safe. If Trump wins FL and OH it’s hard to Crooked Hillary Clinton to beat him. However, Kasich is also a terrible person and would leave Trump exposed to a Dallas Limo Ride scenario. If Christie polls well in private focus groups I would favor him. Whomever Trump’s people think helps him the most winning MI and OH without ‘selling out’.

        April 27, 2016 at 12:21 PM

      • You hate Webb because he voted for an immigration bill, but you like Kasich who slobbered nauseatingly about the wonderful, hard-working immigrants, God bless them, back in March?

Fuck Kasich. He is an enemy of America. And also, a charisma-less nonentity. I can’t understand why anyone voted for him.

        April 27, 2016 at 2:29 PM

      • He was out of the senate by the time of the gang of 8 bill. But according to this he doesn’t have much of a record:

Here’s all of congress ranked by grade:

        Heres one of former members:

        Sagi Is My Guru

        April 27, 2016 at 4:45 PM

      • I despise Kasich, but he brings votes and establishment support. Nobody else does.

        Otis the Sweaty

        April 27, 2016 at 8:51 PM

      • Webb has essentially endorsed Trump, and you can tell he feels in his gut that he doesn’t belong in the Democratic Party anymore. My primary motivation for wanting him is that a) he’s a relatively conservative Democrat, and b) he would be assassination/impeachment insurance for Trump. Picking a man like Kasich raises exponentially the likelihood of that occurrence. Trump needs a man that neither party will be happy with and who is a legislator/former legislator. And Webb, with his decorated Vietnam record, could be a good match for VP.

        April 27, 2016 at 9:20 PM

    • I have 1800 shares each of Rob Portman and Joni Ernst for VP. I am not saying it will be them, but buying them both at the higher ask price pays 11-1 if it is either of them, and if you were more patient and wait for people to hit you at the bid price, it would pay 14-1. I purchased Portman for 2.5, right where he is now, but I got Ernst at 3 and she is up to 5.5 now.

I selected them carefully, neither has said anything negative about Trump. Ernst would unite the party because the Cruz types love her, and she is a combat vet. Trump’s weakness is women. Ernst has a stronger middle class woman vibe than HRC.

Portman has a decent immigration restrictionist record, would make the donor wing of the party happy with his economic views, and has a nice waspy presidential vibe to his persona. His gay son would be a huge hit with the MSM. Portman actually is probably the single most moderate Republican senator who voted against the Rubio amnesty bill.

The only problem with Portman is that Trump would need to worry about the Koch Brothers + Democrats impeaching him.

The smartest and most attractive VP that the left wing and Kochs would hate as much as Trump and therefore not impeach would be Kris Kobach. I’d bet on him if predictit let me. Problem with him though is while he would be the best VP once in office, he would not make a good running mate since Trump does not need to appeal to nationalists more, he needs to appeal to working class and suburban middle class women, who do not support him as much as working class men. Joni is best to appeal to working class women, Portman to middle class suburban women.

      April 27, 2016 at 2:10 PM

    • Webb’s voting record in his one Senate term was a standard center-left democrat. You are right that it is strange the paleo-right likes him with this record. But the anti-white left HATES him too, even with a record in the Senate no different than HRC or BHO.

      April 27, 2016 at 2:17 PM

  12. I’m really hoping Trump offers to appoint Cruz to SCOTUS as an olive branch to the TruCons. But I don’t want Cruz as the VP.

Trump’s VP should be an experienced guy who knows Washington inside and out, but is still open-minded enough to adapt to Trump’s populist-conservatism. He needs to have minimal baggage policy-wise, but can probably have some personal baggage since we already know the Trump ticket isn’t full of boy scouts. Preferably, it’ll be a guy who can make the dialectic arguments on policy positions to balance Trump’s rhetorical strengths.

The guy I have in mind is Newt Gingrich. I think he’s perfect. The only issue is that he is a pretty strong, and confident leader in his own right and one wonders if he is capable of being second fiddle to Trump.

    Great Again

    April 27, 2016 at 12:07 PM

    • Yes I think Cruz’s true skill set would be perfect for the Supreme Court. He’s shown, as the architect of the last defunding effort that he’s not much of a legislator, and I’ve seen no indication of any executive ability, but I admit he has a great mind and would be a perfect Scalia like Justice. Plus, his senate colleagues would be happy to vote him out of their hair.

  13. Good to see you back, Lion! Between your “MAYBE [emphasis mine] I’ll be able to get back to regular blogging later this week” comment and your suicide statistics posts, I was afraid that you might…

At any rate, we love you and want to see you here. Blog as often as you like, but do keep in touch at least every once in a while. (Most Trump supporters are loving individuals who are inclusive — different genders, religious beliefs, and ethnicities are welcome. Just be here legally and live constructively. He will make our country great and give us hope again.)

    • I only voted for Trump because he perturbs my girlfriend more than Cruz does.

      April 27, 2016 at 9:12 PM

  14. Rumor has it that Cruz will pick Carly “BOMB RUSSIA” Fiorina for his VP. A perfect choice. Both are globalist vermin.

    April 27, 2016 at 3:33 PM

  15. Wish I had gone for Sanders in Rhode Island. I saw on wikipedia Rhode Island is demographically just like a version of Mass with a fraction the amount of minorities. And Hillary only won Mass by a couple points.

Warned you about Maryland. Even Montgomery county has nasty areas on the border with PG county and farm fields so close to the city that there’s rural folk sending their kids to Rockville school districts.
Not to mention the Maryland panhandle is more like West Virginia or South PA.

  16. Trump isn’t running against Cruz, he’s running against the media and the system. Cruz seems to have lost it after this schlonging. He just named Fiorina as his VP. What a goofball. Fiorina? Gee how did he make that choice? Was it her business acumen in losing money at HP? Was it her horrible performance during her run? Nah, it was her womanly parts. What a jackass.
I suppose nobody remembers what happened to Sarah Palin huh? Woman and minority doesn’t matter unless you are on the same side as the media.
I cannot wait to see what kind of low tactics the Stupid Party will use to beat Trump and nominate a loser. My money would be on Little Jebbie from Motel Six. He’s Bush League and he has a half-bean son that can brownout the election. Have to go for those half dozen diverse voters, even if it causes millions of White voters to stay home right Jebbie?
Can’t wait to see Karl Rover foaming at the mouth at another Bush prospect. What kind of theme will he get from Florida to hide Little Jebbie’s New England roots? He went faux cowboy for W, but what do they have in Florida? Old people? Maybe he can get his old man and his older wife to go on the trail with him? They can be the new GOP. Its not your father’s Oldsmobile, its another Bush clunker.

    • It’s a desperate move. The same sort of “game-changer” was supposed to deliver the presidency to McCain.

      April 28, 2016 at 1:33 AM

    • Nah, I think it’s just a desperation effort to grab the news cycle away from Trump’s massive victories. After Indiana I doubt she pops up again.
