Trump tied with Clinton!

And in the latest Trump news, a new Rasmussen poll shows that Trump is tied with Clinton in a hypothetical general election matchup, thus proving the assertion “Trump can’t win” is complete nonsense.

  1. Men vs Women, and whites vs everyone else.

  2. Rasmussen also consistently showed Romney beating Obama back in 2012…even right up to election. So I’m not sure that they’re the most reliable.

  3. Rassmussen has zero credibility and the poll is an obvious outlier anyway.

I’m not worried about current polls though because they don’t mean anything until after Trump has won the primary and united the party around him. Only then will it be possible for him to win over some more moderates.

Trump is going to win less of the non white vote than Romney and the non white vote will also be a higher percentage of the total votes cast. This means that Trump needs to win about 65% of the white vote to win a close election.

He can get those numbers, but not with Obama as popular as he currently is. Currently Obama has a 50% approval rating. Trump needs Obama’s approval rating to be 45% at most in November.

I don’t think it will happen.

But really, who cares? We destroyed Conservatism and that is what’s important.

    • Yes. Lion, remember what you said about rats and too good to be true.

I don’t agree. Trump will win more of the non-White vote than Romney but that’s a diverse bloc of voters. Do you really think the US black vote is the same as Vietnamese, Filipino, Mexican??

Trump is losing the loudmouth non-White vote and he will lose many SWPL, liberal Republicans.

But he will do much better than Romney with White prole/blue collar and many non White types who aren’t highlighted by the liberal media.

Plus, Trump is going up against Hilary who is very unappealing esp to men.

  4. Clinton is dead meat against Trump. He will destroy her. This is obvious. We haven’t seen anything yet of what he can do.

    • I agree. I’m not American, but from across the ocean, it looks like this: Trump would win all the red states, the South, the de-industrialized states and might even win NY?

Hillary is a very weak candidate, a worse debater, boring and ppl don’t like her. I wouldn’t bet against Trump, not by a long shot.

      • Here is my prediction:

I took the 2012 map, gave Trump all of the very close races, and then also gave him Pennsylvania and New Hampshire. The result is a comfortable win for Trump, 290 to 248. He could still lose one of those two states and win the election.

Earlier, I predicted a much better result for Trump but that was before I realized how naive the Iowa/Wisconsin/Minnesota area is.

      Some of Hillary’s accomplishments are:

      * She overthrew a number of reliably pro-American Arab dictators while at the same time doing nothing to stop ISIS from taking control of much of the Middle East and Western Europe
      * She almost allowed the Muslim Brotherhood to take control of Egypt
      * Near zero economic growth because of Obamanomic policies she will largely continue
      * Mass immigration of third worlders and Muslim terrorists
      * Obama’s equivalent of 1990s Hillarycare has failed
      * She will continue Obama’s war on fossil fuels
      * NAFTA and TPP

      That’s for starters.

      • To be fair to Hillary, Obama inherited Bush’s crappy economy, and Obamacare sucks because Republicans snuck in poison pills. And during that time, Hillary was only dealing with State Department stuff.

      • We don’t need to be fair to Hillary. She has to be destroyed by all means possible.

It’s perfectly fair for Trump to say she would produce the same ressults because she should would pursue all of Obama’s economic policies.

As for Obamacare, the Democrats had a Senate supermajority and got at least 90% of what they wanted. It would be absurd for Trump not to tie Obamacare to Hillarycare just because the Democrats had to fold on a few legislative details when passing it.

  5. Just imagine what Trump’s poll numbers will look like when he announces Bernie as his running mate.

    May 1, 2016 at 12:29 pm

    • He will never do it, and if he does, I won’t vote for him.

  6. I have one question for the Trump triumphalists here: after what happened in Burlingame, what makes you think that Trump votes will even be counted in the GE?

    • If they steal the election that’s even better. It destroys the legitimacy of the system and would bring civil war. Liberalism needs peace and prosperity to flourish.

  7. Head to head gen election polls at this stage are meaningless otherwise we’d be talking about Carter’s second term and GHW Bush’s second term.

The ‘Trump can’t win’ meme was always false. But hey, one of the advantages of owning a media outlet, you get to spread your favored lies confident that a lot of the world will act on them.

    May 1, 2016 at 2:24 pm

    • If you go on left wing sites though, they really do think that the election is in the bag. Some of the more intelligent leftist pundits understand that Trump really is a threat but the rank and file does not.

  8. Are you guys paying any attention whatsoever to Obama?

He’s going to hang around DC and stir up trouble, mark my words.

    Permanent revolution.

    May 1, 2016 at 4:14 pm

    • So, he didn’t mean it when he said “Obama out!”???

P.S. I wonder if someday my home town, Chicago, ever stops being a disaster zone, Obama would choose to enmayor himself. That was apparently always his dream as a youth.

It is laughable when NBC and ABC run out these polls to state that Hillary will beat Trump. Then Ted Cruz and Fiorina state the same thing. They both know that is a lie on their part – lyin’ Ted.
