Trump wins 76.9% in West Virginia

In 2012, Mitt Romney only won 69.6%, so in West Virginia Trump is more popular than Mitt Romney was.

  1. And that percentage doesn’t quite explain how much more popular he is — look at the number of votes in 2016 compared to 2014!

    • There was no race in 2012, Romey had already locked it up.
He never lost a race after March and they only person who was hanging around was Ron Paul.

Comparing Trump against a non-existent baseline is silly.

      • And in 2016, there is no race, Trump has already “locked it up.” You’re silly.

  2. Further:

    http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/political-animal-a/2016_03/ky_poll_of_kentucky_dems_shows059830.php

“The poll also shows Donald Trump capturing a surprising percentage of Democratic primary voters in head-to-head general election matchups against both candidates. Donald Trump receives a shocking 37% of the Kentucky Democratic primary vote in a hypothetical contest against Clinton, and 38% against Sanders.

In another notable finding, nearly one in five likely voters in the Democratic primary do not believe a woman is capable of being an effective Commander-in-Chief.”

KY went Republican by a huge margin in 2012, but these are Democrats.

  3. Trump’s big numbers in West VA would’ve been even bigger if the state allowed for voting at methadone clinics.

    • There’s still 23% non-Trump voters. I would be willing to bet heroin users are overrepresented in the 23% and underrepresented in the 77%.

The drug culture has always been leftist and democrat leaning. R gives us the drug war, D gives us “I didn’t inhale.”

A test. Without looking it up, guess the party, R or D who said the following:
California lawmaker wants to allow supervised heroin use

  5. Ah, West Virginia. Country roads take me home. Went down there years ago and partied at WVU. Just a completely no nonsense, utterly drunk, loud music weekend of utterly shameless alcoholic stupidity. A fine time and some fine snatch. Those were the days. Haven’t been back since. Good times, good times…

    • In addition to all the things you mentioned, West Virginia is also the home state of gymnast Mary Lou Retton, who, by the way, is a “guido.” ( family name was Rotundo originally.)
