UCLA Professor killed by a Muslim* immigrant

Link to information page about Mainak Sarkar

On his blog he wrote:

William Klug, UCLA professor is not the kind of person when you think of a professor. He is a very sick person. I urge every new student coming to UCLA to stay away from this guy.

Here’s a picture of the guy.

My name is Mainak Sarkar. I was this guy’s PhD student. We had personal differences. He cleverly stole all my code and gave it another student. He made me really sick.

Your enemy is your enemy. But your friend can do a lot more harm. Be careful about whom you trust.

Stay away from this sick guy.

He’s certainly not a very good writer, is he? Why can’t Americans become engineers? Why do we need to import them from Asia?

Trump’s anti-Muslim-immigrant rule would have prevented this needless death.

*I presume the shooter is Muslim because he is Bengali, however he does have a Hindu last name, so it’s not 100% certain.

Even if the guy wasn’t actually Muslim, I will be spreading the word that he was. It’s a tactic of the left that I’ll use against them. There are plenty of people looking for a reason to vote for Trump.

This is a good point. I remember when the MSM said that George Zimmerman was white when in fact he’s Hispanic.

  1. Why can’t Americans become engineers?

Engineering is a difficult subject, and it pays below average, than other less strenuous industries.

    • I don’t think it’s the difficulty that thwarts most men (there are hardly any female engineers) from pursuing engineering. It’s the ridiculous hours that you have to put in for so-so wages.

      June 2, 2016 at 10:31 am

      • blacks have the highest drop out rate in Engineering. No one drops out of Psychology.

        June 2, 2016 at 11:27 am

      • @JS

As usual you are talking through your hat. Scientists went to the stake for the sake of the Truth. Engineering is an amazing field and good engineers make a fortune.

        June 2, 2016 at 1:23 pm

    • Engineers have more reason to beleive then average folks because they understand the harmony of the universe.

      June 2, 2016 at 11:25 am

      • No, they do not. Engineers are driven by the pursuit of money, especially if they are immigrants.

And Yakov is one of the antithesis of this guy’s work. A Jew by the name of Morris Berman, wrote a book detailing America’s careerism and material worship, instead of self actualization, what he calls a culture of hustling.

Americans work their asses off and having nothing to show forth.

Furthermore, the quality of life in America sucks and reactive ideologies makes it worse, where Americans are deraign for the most part.

        June 2, 2016 at 12:01 pm

    • Engineering pays below average because we import tons and tons of engineering mediocrities.

      June 2, 2016 at 12:09 pm

  2. The shooter appears to have a White American girlfriend (no looker), so he was a beta.

    June 2, 2016 at 9:52 am

  3. Lion, West Bengal is Hindu whereas Bangladesh is Muslim. You can’t presume anything. Maybe professor was a bad guy? How do we know? Just saying…..

Bengalies make good movies. They are brainy to a degree, but keeping them out is a capital idea.

    June 2, 2016 at 9:58 am

    • American Academia is not a place of learning. It’s all about status signaling and proving one’s worth.

      June 2, 2016 at 10:23 am

    • “… Maybe professor was a bad guy? How do we know? …”

I don’t think it is any big mystery who the bad guy was here.

  4. I really don’t get what was going on here. Mainak Sarkar has a masters from Stanford and graduated with a PhD in 2013 from UCLA. What is he doing still hanging around UCLA 3 years after he graduated?

His grievance is that his PhD professor stole code that he wrote and gave it to another student? What? If you write code as part of you PhD research, that code is probably in the public domain. If he was still at UCLA as some kind of post-doc researcher, the code belongs to the university and/or whoever was funding the post-doc.

Sounds to me like he was hanging around UCLA because he could not find a job. He had recently broken up with his girl friend as well as getting into an argument with his PhD professor. I guess he just could not take all the rejection.

This does not look like it has anything to do Muslims or religion.

    • I’m looking forward to all the liberals in academia, who believe in the whole diversity mantra, to reveal their true colors. We don’t like coloreds, when they compete with us.

      June 2, 2016 at 11:07 am

      • The professor was probably a d*ck to him, for a number of reasons. The entire United Nations-like setting in American Higher Education, irks a considerable number of Whites (who initially welcomed them), and now perceive them as a threat or nuisance.

        American society is deraign!

        June 2, 2016 at 11:10 am

    • And the record shooting in Chicongo has nothing to do with bruthas…

      June 2, 2016 at 8:01 pm

      • Blacks are shooting/killing each other in Chicago at an alarming rate because of the legacy of slavery, institutional racism, racist teachers, overcrowded classrooms, lack of computers in the classrooms, a shortened school year, shortage of section 8 housing vouchers, elimination of midnight basketball, lack of inner city role models, single parent households, reduction of government benefits, racism of Hollywood, low expectations of teachers, the scourge of crack, the overconsumption of malt liquor, and the lack of affordable child care while both of the parents work two and three jobs each to make ends meet.

  5. I would like to think that an engineer would not believe in gods at all, but events in the Middle East and the Subcontinent seem to be proving me wrong. What’s wrong with people these days? It’s dangerous when they cling to guns _and_ religion at the same time!

    June 2, 2016 at 10:02 am

    • Engineers have more reason to beleive then average folks because they understand the harmony of the universe.

      June 2, 2016 at 10:59 am

      • Physicists, and probably engineers, are more likely than other scientists (esp. biologists) to believe in a Remote Creator who set the universe in motion, but they’re far less likely to be theists than the average person.

  6. Bengalis are about 50% Hindu and 50% Muslim. That’s why West Bengal is part of India and East Bengal is an independent Muslim country.

This guy is, er, was, a Hindu.

  7. Continuing the great American tradition of importing ONLY THE BEST from around the world!!

Necessity of importing Asians and giving them prized seats in PhD programs: zero. What a scam. Our universities are really among the most despicable institutions we have.

  9. Lion, on the info page you link to, he is listed as Hindu.

I am no expert but “Mainak Sarkar” sounds Hindu to me.

This website also says its a Hindu name.

“Sarkar Name Meaning Indian (Bengal) and Bangladeshi: Hindu name found in several communities, from a title based on Persian sarkar ‘chief’, ‘superintendent’, ‘lord’.”

This seems like beta rage. He got dumped by a girl.

    June 2, 2016 at 1:49 pm

  10. Yeesh, that girlfriend of his looks like the worst sort of Elizabeth Warren uber SJW white girl. Looks like he also killed someone in Minnesota, but media is mum yet on who. Model immigrants!

    June 2, 2016 at 2:01 pm

  11. He killed the white ex-girl friend in Minnesota, then drove out to California and shot Klug. He also had another professor on a kill list. He was probably insane.

The reason there are so many Asians in STEM grad school programs is because the grad schools encourage them to come. More students = more money for their programs. The trouble is once they graduate they don’t want to go home. So they hang around creating a huge surplus of PhDs. They can’t get jobs–at least not the type of jobs they think they deserved. My son was lucky in that he got his PhD in wildlife ecology –an area that doesn’t appeal to Asians. So the whole field is a whitopia with good jobs. It is not flooded with foreigners except the odd European. My son had no trouble getting an excellent job with the federal government (Canada). He had several good job offers.

    Classic alpha male behavior.

  13. The LA Times calls it “sudden rage,” not “beta rage.”

After earning his PhD from UCLA, the only job Sarkar could find was as an “engineering analyst” – not even a real engineer, and not an associate professorship or lecturer somewhere, not even at a community college. Sounds odd.

LA Times, 06/02/16 – For UCLA shooter Mainak Sarkar, sudden rage after years of intense academic studies

…After UCLA, Sarkar worked remotely as an engineering analyst for an Ohio-based rubber company, Endurica LLC. Sarkar worked for Endurica until August 2014. He declined to provide more details.

  14. I looked at his professor’s research group page. I find it strange that it was not updated for many years.

  15. The goddamn media initially reported this shooter as a WHITE MALE!

    June 2, 2016 at 10:09 pm

    • You can be absolutely certain that they were hoping the shooter was white. The vermin in the media believe that the white male is holding back progress because they’re so hateful and intolerant.

  16. I’m not an engineer, but I am certainly interested in the employment dynamics of the engineering profession. Near as I can tell, engineering seems to suffer from a very serious dis-junction between the demands of studying the field itself and the demands of an engineering or manufacturing firm.

Engineering seems to be taught with a “craft” mentality. Engineering schools train their students to be researchers and designers. They dig into the minutiae to the point where they would be very effective in handling the kind of creative lab work found in university labs, where professors push their own pet projects. Just read Professor Klug’s research interests.

Then, when these engineers graduate, the real world sets in.

First, there is a limited number of slots in grad schools, post-doc programs and assistant professorships. There is only so many slots for people to do the kind of engineering research we see in grad schools.

Second, private industry is an entity operating with limited resources. They don’t need researchers and designers because it is too risky. They need resource conservationists to move widgets and make the kind of incremental improvements designed to convince non-engineers to buy their products. A lot of engineering tech is, therefore, recycled because the marginal cost is nearly zero.

Lots of recycled tech means engineering in the private sector is closer to being a mechanic than being an engineer. This, of course, rapidly increases the supply of people available to do a job. Engineering becomes more of a signaling credential rather than a body of useful knowledge.

  17. It makes sense to spread false information when the mainstream is with you. When it is the other way around, you’re contributing to losing credibility, giving a true argument for people who swim in an ocean of lies and hypocrisies …. Not a clever thing to do. Even Fox news can’t !
