Comment on Trump and anti-Semites

“Gothamette” writes:

It may be true that an insignificant portion of Trump’s support is made up of anti-Semites, and it’s certainly true that he himself is downright philo-Semitic (and friendly towards blacks) but the presence of online anti-Semites is poisoning the atmosphere. And he’s got to be savvy about that – and it doesn’t seem that he is. So he should hire someone who is, or maybe Ivanka should clue him in.

Anyway I think it’s a fact that a clique of very dedicated, very crazy, anti-Semites is out there. The funny thing about them is how damn butthurt they become when you point out how much they hate Jews. I can’t figure out whether their outrage is real or feigned.

And I also think it’s ironic that the most anti-Semitic out there are the ones insisting that the Jewish star in that image was just an accidental shape picked from a Microsoft Office product. As if they, of all people, can’t imagine someone intentionally creating an anti-Semitic graphic.

We have a lot of evidence now that @FishBoneHead1 created a lot of mean-spirited graphics, and he was well clued-in to the anti-Semitic beliefs about a Worldwide Jewish Financial Conspiracy which secretly pulls the strings of the media and liberal politicians for the supposed benefit of Jews and Israel.

  2. Look, you guys are engaging in the same kind of word-image association that White Nationalists use to tar Jews. There is such a thing as a charitable interpretation, you know.

Consider James Traub with his call that the elites should rise up against the masses. Here is his image:

Tell me the combination of hostile intent and jewy smirkiness is not a justification for spooling up the gas chambers.. He is now an anti-semitic meme.

Or, it’s the actions of an isolated individual.

The same is the case with those photoshopped images. One makes a woman look like shrek and other makes the point that if Elizabeth Warren is an Indian, then Barack Obama is Jewish.

  3. It’s possible to critique groups without thinking there’s an organized conspiracy or that it applies to all, or even a majority of group members.

  4. “I can’t figure out whether their outrage is real or feigned.”

Trump supporting white nationalist anti-Semites on Twitter and elsewhere are usually trolls. It’s hard to gauge their sincerity. I’d guess that about half of them are truly anti-Semites, 30% might believe there’s some truth to some sort of Jewish conspiracy, and 20% are just trolling to troll. As a general rule, the more extreme they seem, the more likely it is that they’re just trolling no matter what their true beliefs are. For example, whenever I see a white nationalist mention “global white supremacy,” I know he’s not being sincere.

  5. The “Alt Right” just can’t help themselves. They claim to love whites, but their real passion is hating Jews. They hate Jews much more than they love whites. Their favorite ritual is “naming the Jew.”

They may now have put Trump in such an impossible position, that he either loses the election, because swing voters think he’s a Nazi, or because he now (under the worthless advice of Ivanka and Paul Manafort) flipflops so badly that he becomes a loud, obnoxious version of Mitt Romney, and loses, due to betraying his white base, which then stays home, just as it did in 2008 and 2012.

Trump had better hope that FishBoneHead1 turns out to be a Hillary dirty tricks op, and is exposed in time, but I doubt he is. Alt Righters previously harmed Trump by making loud, public expressions of support. As I said, they can’t help themselves.

    • American Renaissance recently published an essay about alt-right trolls and their inflammatory rhetoric. After reading and listening to some responses from self-described alt-righters, I have to admit that they seem a little delusional, but I wonder if this isn’t a case of people who’d simply describe themselves as “white nationalists” adopting this new label. I mean, I’ve always thought of Lion’s blog as alt-right and I normally consider myself sympathetic to the alt-right, which I see as amorphous.

When I say they seem delusional, what I means is that many of them seem to think that the rise of hardcore white nationalism is right around the corner and while it might still take a few decades, an eventual homeland for whites is close to inevitable. I just don’t see that happening, ever. Lower immigration levels combined with an HBD aware view of group differences is the best we can hope for, and even that sounds far fetched.

Also, before a WN starts yelling at me, I’ll mention that I have no moral opposition to a white homeland and I don’t think there’s anything wrong with wanting one.

      • If you want to get a realistic appraisal of how popular alt-right ideas actually are, takea look at the viewcounts on their YouTube videos.

The most popular ones have views in the tens of thousands. This is not a large movement. They’re really just a tiny radicalized subset of the larger “anti-SJW” movement, which is itself a small subset of the Donald Trump movement.

    • I think the kind of personality that spends hours each day online devoted to insulting or harassing people is just naturally going to be driven more by malice and hatred than positive visions or goals.

    • “The “Alt Right” just can’t help themselves. They claim to love whites, but their real passion is hating Jews. They hate Jews much more than they love whites. Their favorite ritual is “naming the Jew.””

Then what the hell are you doing hanging around them?

“They may now have put Trump in such an impossible position, that he either loses the election, because swing voters think he’s a Nazi,”

Nope, this is Trump’s fault entirely. He gave a bizarre speech yesterday taking back his deleting the tweet and his Twitter supporters such as Kaus are aghast. (I only follow this on Twitter.) Kaus said that Trump has been given a gift basket in the form of the Hillary skate, and he chooses to double down on this nonsense.

I’m sure that one of the resident Jew haters here is gonna write some dumbass comment about my sore little Jewish feelings and my anti-gentilism and so forth. You guys are so stupid it literally hurts. I don’t give a shit about the tweet. It was the usual juvenile anti-Semitism from the usual jerkoffs. Trump retweeted it in complete good faith that it meant nothing anti-Semitic. So he should suck it up and move onto attacking Hillary in more fruitful ways.

But he doesn’t. Why? Because he’s a childish asshole. And that, I suggest, is the secret of his appeal to the alt-right, a juvenile bunch of morons if ever there was one. Forget all the stuff about PC, immigration, trade — all legitimate issues. It’s Trump moronic adolescent insanity that they love. They see a kindred spirit. Like sticks to like.

  6. Butthurt is a word I got from the manosphere. I think it’s great. I know that there is another interpretation (I don’t have to say what that is) but I always get a picture of a little boy holding his hands over his smarting butt, lower lip stuck out, because Daddy paddled him.

Anyway, my further point is that I am enjoying this populist revolution tremendously. Every day I see signs that the revolution is actually reaching the ears of the goddamn Ivy/Oxbridge aristocrats. David Brooks wrote a great review of J.D. Vance’s book, Joel (no immigration here) Kotkin wrote something decent in PuffHo….the signs of the earthquake are everywhere. 54% of British Jews voted Brexit. All the more remarkable given that they live mostly in a Remain reservation and they are part of the Remain economic class.

I just don’t want a bunch of jerks to ruin things.

  7. The alt-right is irrelevant and dumb: Richard Spencer coined the term alt-right and he made of himself endorsing remain.

The real problem is Trump not checking before he tweets something. Certainly no staffer should copy any image from 4chan, for God’s sake, and not be fired immediately.

Naming the Jew is fun, but you’re wrong about ‘the real passion’. Love and hate go hand in hand. After all, if one does not hate that which seeks to destroy what one loves, one doesn’t truly love. In any case, regardless of the supposed anti-semitism of the meme, Trump supporters should always mock and shame neurotic SJWs who screech about racism, sexism and various other -isms of his tweets rather than obsessively analyze what theyreally mean. There are some however, how can’t seem to help themselves.

    July 6, 2016 at 3:41 am

    • “Naming the Jew is fun….”

@Nicholas – Rona is such a “see you next Tuesday.” I can just feel how ugly she is. Funny how that goes. Lefty women are ugly. Conservative women are pretty. But alt-right women could take the prize in a hog contest.

  9. Horace Pinker:When I say they seem delusional, what I means is that many of them seem to think that the rise of hardcore white nationalism is right around the corner and while it might still take a few decades, an eventual homeland for whites is close to inevitable. You’re not taking a sufficiently long term view of things. I can’t tell whether you’re talking about USA only or about Europe also.

As far as Europe goes, nationalism well prevail and invaders driven out of European homelands or Islam will completely dominate the continent filled with Arabs, millions of Africans and remaining Whites. Death of liberal democracy is a given. One of these outcomes will occur, maybe in decades maybe in centuries, I’d bet on decades tho. Modern Europe is on it’s last legs, spiritually, ideologically, and I don’t see it sliding downward for much longer.

USA situation is very different and much more difficult to predict, I’d agree with you about unlikelihood of explicitly White country in North America. Americans don’t have tradition of thought that could lead to this kind of political movement.

Delusional is thinking that Trump can ‘save America’. Even if he did everything he promised non-whites will still outnumber Whites in a few short years and the country will continue to slide towards a Brazil-like hellhole.

    July 6, 2016 at 4:10 am

    • The US white population has always had a certain fraction of red/black/brown. If we stop the immigration madness now, and play our cards right we can save America as a majority white country. Those are both big “ifs”. If.

Europe I think is in much hotter water. Soon the percentage of fighting age men in several small European countries will be mostly Muslim. Then what? The Europeans chase their own tails, or lie back helplessly like an old dog waiting to be shot. But Islam can’t dominate a modern economy. It isn’t capable of dominating anything but a slave state. Look at Islamic history. You’ll end up with a smoking ruin.

BTW, to refine the point I was making about the alt right Jew-haters, I never claimed they had huge numbers or that they have either power or influence. I said they were “poisoning the atmosphere”. Indeed they are mostly trolls and fools. But trolls and fools can trip up, or as the British say, wrongfoot, smarter people. Hillary is too smart to be trolled. Why is Trump so vulnerable?

      July 6, 2016 at 1:37 pm

      • You’re too hung up on numbers. US was a country of European settlers who became Americans when they declared independence. Reds were not Americans, they were a conquered nation that was not slaughtered entirely, and permitted to live on reservations. Blacks were not Americans, they were African workers whom Americans wanted freed and repatriated.

Does it really matter if Whites remain 60% of population vs. 45%? You’re still living in a multicultural state, engaged in low level warfare, with other ethnic groups determining laws and customs to a greater or lesser degree.

Europe in in much better position. It’s not about percentages. It’s about identity, about understanding who you are and what a nation is. What it means to be Dutch, or a Dane or Estonian or a German. The hotter the water is, the sooner frog realizes it must get out. Europeans cannot move to a nicer part of the country. There’s no room to run in Europe. We will either submit or fight. Europe is a pressure cooker waiting to go off.

‘poisoning the atmosphere’<— shit cuckservatives say. Stop worrying about being called names and mock the cucks rather than language police your own side. I'm glad to see Trump refusing to back down rather than prostrate and apologize for shape of a fcking star.

        July 7, 2016 at 4:03 am

      • I’m not hung up on numbers, you are. I’m making a point that white Americans – as a totality, as Americans, after 1776, not as British Colonists and as immigrants from Europe – aren’t a pure white group. A certain amount of non-white genes can be assimilated into the white gene pool and no one will care, except you, Rona, because you are an alt-right maniac.

“‘poisoning the atmosphere’<— shit cuckservatives say."

I've come to the conclusion that the alt-right is basically the mirror image of the left: damaged, sick, walking wounded. And you are obviously one of them. Anyone who thinks Europe is in better shape than the US is clearly delusional. Europe is in terrible shape. It doesn't matter that they have nationalist movements. These movements have zero institutional muscle and no way of enforcing themselves, and anyway, European nations are all 19th century constructs with no real meaning.

BTW, I don't care what anyone calls me, least of all you. I just don't agree with you. If that enrages you, tough shit. It makes me happy.

        July 7, 2016 at 9:04 am

      • One more thing about “Rona”‘s objection to my pointing out that anti-Semites poison the atmosphere. She (?) disagrees because to her, anti-Semitism is a feature, not a bug. People get so into a cult that they don’t realize the rest of the world is looking at them in horror.

        July 7, 2016 at 9:06 am

      • gothamette, calm down, you’re embarrassing yourself. Not only with bizarre emoting about alt-right, but with a depth of your ignorance regarding European situation. I mean, you could have avoided most startling display of it with even a cursory glance of wikipedia which would show you that Muslims comprise less than 10% of EU population. Compare that with the demographic situation of the USA.

Statement about supposed irrelevance of the new right in Europe is curious given that fastest-growing political parties are right-wing, from Germany and Austria, to France, Sweden, Britain and all across Central and Eastern Europe.

The only nation that can can be described as only a construct and truly without a coherent meaning is a modern American one, what with its propositions and values.

Ask a European nationalist whether Ahmed and his six wives can be ‘assimilated into the gene pool’.

As for antisemitism, who cares? Whether some politician dislikes the Jews is as relevant to the right as his thoughts about any other Middle eastern tribe. Antisemitism is a curious preoccupation, among certain segments. I first pegged you as one of those clueless conservatives, perhaps evangelicals, but the vitriol my uncontroversial statements have aroused in you makes me think gothamette echoes. Am I right? 😉

        July 8, 2016 at 5:13 am

      • Thanks for the concern trolling. You clearly understand little about either demographics or American history, so I’m just going to leave it here. I only engage with people from whom I can learn something. You’re not one of them.

    • I was talking about the US and I agree that the future looks much brighter in Europe. I’m advising my son to move to Ireland when he grows up.

It will be interesting to see how things play out here. I expect California to look like Brazil in a couple of decades, but I bet Maine will still be a nice place to live.

      • ” I’m advising my son to move to Ireland when he grows up.”

LOL, Ireland will be full of EU “migrants.” Great advice, Pops.

        July 6, 2016 at 4:35 pm

      • Yes, whites will segregate as much as they can and there’ll probably be parts of a country that are entirely White. It just won’t be your country.

LOL, Ireland will be full of EU “migrants.” Great advice, Pops.

Ireland will be full of self aware enraged Irish itching to remove kebab. America will be full of white cucks singing praises to diversity in search of good schools praying their government doesn’t decide to diversify new neighborhood and kid doesn’t get too inclusive when it comes to marriage.

        July 7, 2016 at 4:12 am

      • Ireland is currently over 90% white. We’ll see what it’s like in 15 or 20 years if it doesn’t remain part of the EU. The reason Ireland is my first choice now is that I’m pretty sure it’ll be easy for my kid to get dual citizenship. Plus, he’ll feel at home living among low-IQ proles.

        Horace Pinker

        July 7, 2016 at 10:28 am

      • Future, as you said, will be brighter in Europe. How long it will take to arrive is uncertain, but for America there is only descent from a great power to South American basket case.

Living will be good for the rich and moderately wealthy, as long as they’re unconcerned about genuine American culture and inalienable rights of free speech, guns, due process etc. that many white Americans cherish, but are alien to others, as those are going away soon given population stats, irrespective of illegals.

Parts of Europe may be looking at civil war before things clear up but situation could also be resolved with strong nationalist parties affirming nation states, dismantling EU and repatriating non-europeans in an organized manner. We are moving in that direction and one certainly hopes they take over before situation becomes so uncontrollable that war is certain.

One thing to look for is secession movement in US but unlike EU, which effectively becomes powerless once multiple countries say their goodbyes, federal gov will never allow states to secede.

  10. “In a Defiant, Angry Speech, Donald Trump Defends Image Seen as Anti-Semitic”

“Donald J. Trump on Wednesday offered a defiant defense of his campaign’s decision to publish an image widely viewed as anti-Semitic — saying he regretted deleting it — and vigorously reaffirmed his praise of Saddam Hussein, the murderous Iraqi dictator.

In the span of 30 minutes, an often-shouting Mr. Trump breathed new life into a controversy that was sparked on Saturday by his posting of an image on his Twitter account of a six-pointed star next to a picture of Hillary Clinton, with money seeming to rain down in the background. The image was quickly, and broadly, criticized for invoking stereotypes of Jews. Mr. Trump deleted it two hours later, and replaced the star image with a circle.

“ ‘You shouldn’t have taken it down,’ ” Mr. Trump recalled telling one of his campaign workers. “I said, ‘Too bad, you should have left it up.’ I would have rather defended it.”

“That’s just a star,” Mr. Trump said repeatedly.

It was a striking display of self-sabotage from a presumptive presidential nominee and underscored the limitations of Mr. Trump’s scattershot approach during the Republican primaries — not to mention how difficult he often makes it for his campaign team to control him.

The rally in Cincinnati had been promoted by Mr. Trump’s team for two days as a chance for him to give a tryout to a potential running mate, former Speaker Newt Gingrich. Periodically, beginning midway through Mr. Trump’s speech, the crowd chanted Mr. Gingrich’s name, but Mr. Trump did not heed its wishes.”

The man’s political instincts are pure shit.
