The brilliance of having Michael Flynn speak after Melania Trump

On the surface, it makes sense that the night’s speeches should have ended after Melania, the evening’s most important speaker. Instead, Flynn comes on and speaks forever in his monotone voice, boring the heck out of everyone.

The media still thinks this was a mistake by Trump and the RNC. They don’t realize yet that they have been played.

If the speeches ended after Melania, then the news media would have shown a bunch of talking heads talking to each other for the rest of the evening. And what would they talk about? They hate Trump and would spin everything in a manner unfavorable to Trump.

So instead, they put Flynn on, and they know the media would have to cover his speech because they think Flynn is someone important because they know he was almost picked to be Vice President (which would have been a horrible mistake). Flynn’s actual purpose was to cockblock the media and prevent viewers at home from listening to their anti-Trump spin. Flynn’s job was to bore everyone and make them turn off their televisions.

  1. Is Trump that brilliant at mass psychology or is it just intuitive? Who knows? I certainly wish I was able to think these things up.

    • I don’t think Trump actually makes up the RNC agenda, but someone who does must know that you need to keep speeches going until 11:pm eastern, to prevent time for the network talking heads to trash the evening (they have cable for that). This way it goes right to local news.

  2. That’s so funny it sounds like something that couldn’t possibly be true. And, yet, I think you may be right.

  3. “Flynn’s job was to bore everyone and make them turn off their televisions.”

Excellent. Stuff like this is why I read this blog.

    • Agreed.

  4. Does anyone know how evangelicals are receiving Flynn?

Everyone I know thinks he’s awful, but they concede it’s probably to get the base that didn’t feel hating Mexicans and Muslims was enough to earn their vote for New England ‘Republican’. I don’t know any evangelicals.

Are his abortion/antigay comments enough to rally the true base?

  7. LOL, great insight. This was indeed excellent manipulation.

Maybe it was also Trump saying, “I told you so. You all wanted me to choose this joker. So take a look at him. And when Pence – the Silver Fox – gives his speech, all the middle aged Republican women are going to fall in love with him, and you are all going to realize I made the right choice, and I am a supreme genius.”

  8. Trump is running the smartest Republican campaign in decades. And he is also the most controversial.

    • it’s “””controversial””” because it’s working, and if trump wins it means the post-reagan washington consensus (invade the world, invite the world, in hoc to the world) is dead.

  9. It didn’t work. My Facebook feed is boiling over about Melania Trump’s plagiarism of Michelle Obama’s speech. Plus they were talking about it all morning on Morning Joe.

    July 19, 2016 at 10:57 am

    • FB trolls and Morning Joe aren’t normal people.

  10. So what is this ruckus about Melania’s speech that eerily resembles that of Michelle Obama’s, in the last election?

Trump is another shill for the 2 party, one headed, establishment?

  11. And what’s with this de facto association with guidos and the Republican party?

Scott Baio, Antonio Sabato and Ex Rudy Guliano, came out in full force to support the right-o-sphere!

    July 19, 2016 at 12:00 pm

    • Guidos are very anti-liberal, even though they have a history of voting Democratic going back to Boss Tweed.

      • If Trump’s children were reading LoftB, they would have quit pappy’s campaign in a heartbeat, given the fact that proles/guidos are generally boorish in nature, who don’t care much for self actualization.

The irony about Trump is that his children are more “SWPL” like in aspirations, where personal creativity is involved, than let’s say Chelsea Clinton, who has prolier aspirations with helping the futile poor, or the Romneys’ heir, whose business ventures are strictly intangible, Wall St investments, which characterizes the 2 differing ideologies of our Meriprole elites in the left-right spectrum. Trump’s children seems to be outliers, in line with the self actualization aspirations that define the heirs of Europe’s elites.

      • What have you done to “provide an iota of substance”?

        July 19, 2016 at 7:06 pm

    • I guess it was “guido night!” LOL. They asked me to speak, but I told them I was too busy reading Lion’s blog – just kidding!

But wasn’t Scott Baio wonderful? I watched some of his other political interviews on Youtube and was very impressed with him. For a “guido” from Brooklyn he speaks beautifully He does Dyker Heights proud. I’ve always thought Baio was incredibly attractive – but then I’ve always liked a Mediterranean or Sephardic look. Also, he’s aged nicely.

      • Too busy reading LoftB to understand that America is a lost cause among a crowd of rabble rousing hypocrites/morons, who actually do nothing to provide one iota of substance, to bring this country back, but to exploit, take and take, and fluff talk.
