Donald Trump is not to be humanized

Some talking heads wrongly said that Melania’s speech “humanized” Trump. Either they weren’t paying attention, or they are so used to humanizing speeches from candidates’ wives that it’s just something they say on autopilot.

There were no anecdotes or stories or biographical information about Trump in Melania’s speech, which was entirely devoted to telling us how great he is and how great he’s going to make America.

Melania did humanize herself by talking about her childhood in Slovenia, her parents and sister, how she worked in several international cities and became a U.S. citizen. But Trump is the great man she is married to.

Donald intends to represent all the people, not just some of the people. That includes Christians and Jews and Muslims, it includes Hispanics and African-Americans and Asians, and the poor and the middle class. Throughout his career, Donald has successfully worked with people of many faiths and with many nations.

That doesn’t humanize Trump, it just presents Trump’s ability to represent all religions and races as another one of his superpowers.

Like no one else, I have seen the talent, the energy, the tenacity, the resourceful mind and the simple goodness of heart that God gave Donald Trump. Now is the time to use those gifts as never before, for purposes far greater than ever before. And he will do this better than anyone else can… and it won’t even be close.

Trump the superman, you’ve got to love it.

  1. How brilliant is the Trump campaign, getting Melania to copy Michelle Obama’s speech? The media is eating this up and showing Melania and Michelle side by side, syncing viewers brains to Melania and the First Lady. This is what Scott Adams would probably call good persuasion and a chess vs checkers move to convince voters that Melania is AT LEAST as good as Michelle Obama. And let’s be honest, Melania is a much more beautiful and feminine woman when compared to the First Lady.

    • Trump is a master troll.

Americans do nt care about plagiarism, only academics do. After all, Melania was communicating the messages she wanted to communicate. Inviting comparisons to big Mooch only work out in her favor.

The media can’t resist and now she’ll be the lead story for the entire day, and the visuals will work out in her favor even as the public sees that the media is trying to slime her.

Here is the proof that she was Rick-Rolling the media.

    • What makes you think Melenia is such a great image for Trump? Do you think voters, especially women, like the fact that he dumped his wife for some much younger foreign fake looking gold digging trophy wife? I don’t like Michelle Obama either but for entirely separate reasons that not all voters may share.

  2. Everyone on Facebook is claiming that she essentially plagiarized the speech from Michelle Obama in 2008. (They then go on to claim this is ironic, because Steve King [R-IA], earlier in the evening, defended Western Civilization, which is racist.)

    • These plagiarizing claims are transparently absurd. The Left is starting to really worry, and they should.

  3. Good insight on Melania’s speech, but I didn’t really like the part where she said for the first time in her life she was proud of her country. Someone should probably have looked at that.

  4. None of us, I assume, holds up Trump as the ideal candidate to foil the globalist elite, but could he really conform to the portrait presented by his ghostwriter of “The Art of the Deal” — a sociopath with a severely constricted attention span, a failing memory, a hair-trigger temper, and an infantile need for constant praise and attention? The ghostwriter worked with Trump quite a while ago, in 1987, so his view of Trump, even if accurate at the time, needs to be updated.

    • So a complete nobody seizes his moment in the sun, knowing full well that a virulent media — and Jane Meyer is as virulent as they come — will latch on to him as long as he presents an anti-Trump point of view. Fortunately, 99% of the people reading his nonsense in the New Yorker aren’t voting for Trump anyway. It’s more echo chamber.

      • All of the copies of ‘Art of the Deal’ have Tony Schwartz credited on the cover. That’s a co-author, not a ghostwriter.

The story is purely about trying to manipulate people who don’t read (or can’t) into thinking bad things about Trump. Shameful.

    • I will take Tony Schwartz seriously when he gives back the money.

    • Yes he could absolutely conform to that image. The only really solid argument for his temperament are his kids which is ultimately pretty weak and tenuous.

  5. Trump hardly needs humanizing — he seems totally “human”. Its the robotic Hillary that needs humanizing.

  6. Milo sicking his troll army on Leslie Jones is beyond disgusting. The alt right really attracts some awful people.

  7. 2 polls released today. LA Times has Trump up by 1 and SurveyMonkey has Hil up by 1.

I do think it is important to look at the averages. Trump is down by an average of 4 and that sounds right, although there is a massive undecided component. I suspect that if the election were held today Trump would lose by 2.

  8. i didn’t see the speech, but based on what you wrote i would have been impressed… but the media is only talking about how 2 paragraphs sorta kinda sound like something michelle obama said, so this disqualifies trump.
