Hillary, which is it, Trump dangerous or not?

From the NY Times:

Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager argued that the emails were leaked “by the Russians for the purpose of helping Donald Trump.”

Previously, Hillary was saying that Trump was too dangerous to have his fingers on the nuclear button. Obviously the Russians don’t think he’s going to start a nuclear war if they are helping him win. Unlike the Muslims, the Russians aren’t suicidal.

  1. THE OFFICIAL POSITION of the Clinton campaign is a rabid conspiracy theory about Putin. Dear God! They are more desperate than I thought!!

  2. The Russians want Donald to win because when he starts a nuclear war it will discredit the United States in the eyes of the world.

We would set such a bad example that other countries would never listen to our efforts to promote gay rights. It’s all part of the insane homophobia of Putin’s regime.

    Duh.

  3. Cognitive dissonance is ever present in the Prog mind, so this is no different. They’ve been doing this FOREVER. Remember back in the Reagan days, Ronnie was depicted by the Progs as simultaneously a congenital drooling retard and a wickedly evil mastermind bent on global destruction via WWIII, which he was about to start any minute. Progs never had any problem keeping these two entirely contradictory thoughts in their head at the same time.

So it’s easy peasy for them to think Trump is whatever they want to tar him with, contradictory or not. Reality has absolutely no bearing on the Progressive thought process (such as it is).

Every SJW that I know wants the US to have a guaranteed basic income. Over the past year, every SJW that I know has come to embrace completely open borders. I’m not talking about people who think that the key to bringing northwest European-type socialism to the US is to import millions of people from Venezuela, either. I mean completely open borders where anyone who can get here should be guaranteed a path to citizenship, and they see no conflict with this and their socialist ideals.

There really is something wrong with how these people see the world. All of their beliefs seem to be completely driven by emotion, and they seem to suffer from pathological altruism which they direct toward the “oppressed” while they simultaneously feel justified in hating the wrong kind of white people as a whole.

  7. you are trying to thread too fine a needle here HS. Trump is dangerous because he is so erratic. He is just as likely to start a trade war with Canada as he is to start a shooting war with Russia. Or comply with their expansionist desires. All perfectly possible with him.

Obama threatened to pull out of Nafta but at least he had the sanity to send Susan Power behind the scenes to do a José Jiménez “just keeding”. Trump has no such sense.

Trump should stay off stage for the rest of the campaign as much as possible, but of course he is unable to contemplate that. I am sure that he will make many more NATO gaffs that will just reenforce Clinton’s talking point.

    • Just because he’s loose with how he mouths off doesn’t mean he’s going to act that way as CEO of the United States. Look at how he behaved as CEO of his real estate business.

Trump may indeed start a “trade war” with Canada if it makes sense, and if by “trade war” you mean put up reasonable trade barriers/tariffs, which any sensible nation does when it suits their interests (you may believe Economist/neo-Liberal claptrap about trade barriers always being bad, but you’d be wrong).

The odds of Trump starting a shooting war with Russia are essentially zero. The odds of Hillary starting one are reasonably good, in that she’s a bloodthirsty psychopath.

    • First off I dont know how great he did with his real estate business. You have one brand, so licensing your name to a bunch of scammy businesses where you dont have directly control of the quality and integrity of the operation strikes me as dumb.

Secondly I recently saw an article by a former cabinet official and he said the reality is that people dont really say No to the President. The reality is that the office gets so much prestige and authority to it there arent people standing in the way to thwart the desires of the President.

In the mean time I am such there will be many more Trump outbursts where people are left saying “wtf” between now and the election. Will there are also being enough ISIS events to balance them out for the electorate?

You can’t on the one hand accuse the Russians of trying to throw the election to Trump while on the other hand accuse Trump of being an erratic nutcase who is likely to start a war with Russia. Well, I guess you can, only if the Russians are complete idiots for wanting an erratic nutcase who may start a war with them to win. In reality Putin is probably rightly concerned that a Hillary presidency will make a war with the U.S. more likely.

There’s no evidence Russia was Wikileak’s source. Anonymous or a competent freelance hacker could have broken into the DNC’s communications as easily as the Russian government.

  8. Don’t jump to conclusions. Wikileaks denies Russia gave them the DNC documents. Given how many freelance hackers Wikileaks has working for them and how DNC email servers probably aren’t using state of the art cybersecurity standards, there wasn’t a need for them to get them from sources in the Russian government. A skilled amateur would have been sufficient to get the job done.

    • If you want an idea of how in the tank the MSM is, I’m watching NBC news and their anchor Lester Holt, is saying that the hack was “apparently” Russian. Yes, I realize that most people reading here are aware of how corrupt the MSM is, but this is shocking even to me.

Both Wikileaks and now Assange deny the emails were sent to them from the Russian government. Some analysts who have reviewed the DNC’s records say there was some web traffic coming from computers in Russia, but that doesn’t prove they originated from the government. The original attack could have come from a different nation and passed through Russian servers.

      • (Good) hackers always use proxies, and there are lots of proxies in Russia.

      • Thanks. Perhaps you should be consulting for ABC and NBC, because they framed this as a Russian job. It’s transparently pathetic but I wonder how many poor souls who still dependent on the MSM for their information believe their shoddy reporting.

      • (Good) hackers always use proxies, and there are lots of proxies in Russia.

Proxy traffic that originates from outside Russia is usually routed through many foreign countries. They often pass through servers based in Russia even when the attackers are not Russians. This is why there is not sufficient evidence to conclude the hackers were working for a national government.

It’s transparently pathetic but I wonder how many poor souls who still dependent on the MSM for their information believe their shoddy reporting.

The coverage harms Hillary because it reminds everyone of the email investigation.

  9. While the emails may not have been given to Wikileaks by Russia, Hillary’s server was likely hacked by foreign intelligence agencies. I’d be very surprised if Russia was not monitoring a target as vulnerable and potentially valuable as her illegal servers.

But if Putin were going to provide the data collected by his agencies, he doesn’t need to give it to Wikileaks – he can just publish them all for download on an official website of the Russian government.

Any deep connections between Wikileaks and Russia are just guesses or spin to try to put Trump back on the defensive,.
