#NeverTrumpers, please shut up

Commenter JimBonobo writes:

We’ve got a few loser NeverTrumpers here. Give me a break. Trump came outta nowhere to schlong 16 experienced politicians including the Bush family (a family with 2 governors and 2 presidents in one family). He’s pushed the Overton window further than ANYONE in my lifetime and now he’s, according to latest (probably biased in Hillary’s favor) polls drawn to within 3% of Clinton. And all this with the ENTIRE media and the establishment of both parties acting in a coordinated fashion to destroy him. And despite all that we still have loser commentators insulting and belittling the man. Trump is a freakin’ genius. The NeverTrumpers are bitter losers and/or paid Hillary shills. Time to shut up, losers.

  1. Very often the messiah that brings us to tye promised land is a flawed man. Think of Martin Luther King, who successfully brought us civil rights. Think of Moses who took us out of slavery and to the very gates of the Holy Land. Trump is like Moses and Martin
Luther King. He should be revered for what he has done.

  3. #NeverTrumpers are never going to shut up because they are insane. Go to StormFront and look at the way the posters their bring everything back to Jews; #NeverTrumpers are the same except with Trump replacing Jews.

People have misunderstood #NeverTrump from the beginning. It is NOT ABOUT POLICY. It is not about electability, even. It is a pure psychological disorder. Read RedState, TheRightScoop or #NeverTrumpers on twitter: these people are absolutely unhinged.

One can argue with Liberals because they aren’t insane, just evil. But debating #NeverTrumpers or attempting to reason with them is an exercise in futility because they are outright lunatics.

I agree it has nothing to do with policy, although the #nevertrumpers constantly claim that Trump is really a leftist or what have you. I’m in a Wall Street Journal facebook group and they are every bit as insane as you’ve described. It’s more about Trump being a vulgar prole than his tax plan or any policy. He’s the wrong sort of (sniff) person. These guys would be ecstatic with Jeb! as the nominee even if he was down 40 points.

My dad doesn’t describe himself as a NeverTrumper, but he is one for all intents and purposes.

You’re right. My dad despises Trump more for his vulgar personality and his reticence to condemn racism, than for any particular policies. Of course, my dad lives in an insuperably blue state, so his vote doesn’t much matter.

I think this is why white men are having a hard time in this decade. In 2012, the upper class Republicans picked one of their own, Mitt Romney, but prole whites didn’t turn out for him in the Rust Belt, spelling his doom. In this election, a “Blue Collar Billionaire” stormed in and claimed the nomination for himself, but upper middle class Republicans are having a hard time getting behind Trump

Ultimately, prole and upper middle class whites don’t really like each other, and they’re having a hard time reconciling their differences. In contrast, blacks for example have no problem voting for Hillary Clinton as if they were living in Saddam Hussein’s Iraq.

    • NeverTrumpers are the folks who believe the Republican Party is some sort of family inheritance. Like your local sports franchise, sure they encourage the fans to be loyal, to buy the merchandise, to support the team, but when it comes to the bottom line the owners are still the owners and decide if the team stays or leaves town. The NeverTrumps actually believe they own the Republican party and as the owners they’d rather the team lose than encourage future pretenders like Trump to mess with the family business.

    • Trump is down by 6.5 in the averages after his worst week/Hillary’s best week. The race will stabilize the week after this as the effects of the convention bounce and the media blitz wear off. Trump is raising a lot of money and about to really start hitting Hil.

The polls will start converging again after next week and Trump will be ahead by the first debate.

fun fact. trump’s entire fall in the past weak had nothing to do with democrats or independents. it was entirely a fall with republicans. in other words, #nevertrump may cost the gop the presidency in order to preserve their “respectability.”

I have read your comments over the past few months and am slightly bewildered at the passionate hatred for Donald Trump. My operating theory is that your genetic identity overrides your logic (as it does mine at times). Nonetheless, while I empathise, surely you must recognise Donald Trumps success is historically unprecedented in Western politics and probably a leading indicator that a reactionary revolution is coming. While Trump may indeed be assassinated or electorally defeated, his message has resonated with Americans despite an unprecedented full court press from the media, foreign individuals, the cuckold class, and all that stand to lose from the ~2% real income growth reverse gravy train of the past 30 years. Do you disagree?

      • If you’ve read the Selfish Gene or if you speak to anyone at random about eco/pol, you will see no matter what the education, IQ, parenting or physiology, they will align their argument with their genetic interest (with the exception of women, who have a different reproductive strategy). You wouldn’t be a very viable proposition in evolutionary terms other wise. It gets more complicated than that when a person’s verbal intelligence is above average and susceptible to Gamma radiation however.

The trick by the gamma is to persuade the ubermensche to lay down their arms peacefully, hence ideology. A form of hypnosis. Those with high genetic altrusitic empathy (not I!) are even more susceptible to “morality” and virtue curtsying. The game theory of altruism works if we all have the gene in fair quantities with regulation.

Open borders will lead to predation, because human beings in other parts of the world have not adapted to their environments by becoming more wholesome. In fact, its even more complicated than that statement, because that isn’t to say human beings tend towards Kinshasa either.

You can see however the casual link between regulation and civilisation. Deregulation means less civilisation. That is why I am an opponent of fundamentalist classical liberalism.

The unsettling problem ultimately, is that altruism is a trait desired mainly in females. And low altruism is desired in males. It doesn’t take a mathematical genius to figure out what a deregulated sexual market would mean for the long run viability of the altruistic ‘gene’ in terms of eggs and sperm. The only way to stop its elimination would be re-regulation, closing borders and strict law and order to remove low altruists from the pool. A situation, I am fairly certain you and I would prefer, but some would consider “fascism”.

      • “Nonetheless, while I empathise, surely you must recognise Donald Trumps success is historically unprecedented in Western politics and probably a leading indicator that a reactionary revolution is coming.”

Completely precedented. He is a running as a mid-century big city mayor of a political machine.

Look at his convention speech- its all Big Man rhetoric. The Federal Government should do everything, his only quibble is that Trump should be the one in charge of the machine.

I dont like that philosophy in general but at least the Technocrats try to make the case about why they would be good at wielding autocratic power. Trump combines a power over reach with a basic level of disinterest and incompetence.

Lion noted in a blog post long ago that it would be nice if Trump actually prepared for his debates, but he didnt seem interested in doing so. He did well enough riffing and posturing that he could get by on a stage of 8-10 guys bickering so why expend any energy actually learning things? Lazy, at least for the actual job he is applying for.

Trump is also bad at execution. No data analytics, no state organizations, no fund raising plans, doesnt reserve crucial ad time. He is easily baited into fights he cant win and voluntarily wastes time attacking other republicans.

There is no “revolution” because there is no Trumpism, only Trump. And when he loses the general by a landslide Trump will be gone from the stage. He will go off an monetize some semi-shady deal and be irrelevant.

Ross Perot was another weird looking semi-billionaire who ran for President on his “straight talk” and polled about as well as Trump is now. He also dropped out claiming “dem Bush boys is trying to sabotage Loula-Bell’s wedding” or some such nonsense. Maybe Trump will follow the same path now that Melania has been reveled to have committed immigration fraud.

Anyway where is the Revolution of the Reform Party now?

I know it’s early August, but Trump must start running some ads. Trump’s rallies are great and his social media reaches a lot of people but he should start spending money on good TV ads. Trump is up against the media, Wall Street, his own political party … he has to fight back with something other than twitter.

I agreed with you that this is the most important election since 1860 but I’ve since reconsidered. Trump and Clinton are both bad candidates and are both old. This is like 1968 all over. Humphrey won the Democratic nom. but the radicals took over.

If i were trump i would make a major effort to reach out to black voters. I would shock the world by holding a press conference in the heart of inner city Chicago and say the Democrats have been neglecting you

There are tons of blacks who are disappointed in Obama and tons more who oppose immigration since they are hit hardest by the cheap supply of labour and hispanic gangs taking over black neighbourhoods, and trump’s hip hop style appeals to blacks

There’s so much opportunity for Trump to win if he would show just a bit of intelligence, yet he stupidly squanders it fighting with his own party, hispanic judges & muslim military families.

Do any of us know how the electoral college works?

Al Gore lost the electoral votes and he won the popular one, and this cost him his presidency.

      • I find these instances where Trump does hard-to-grasp things exasperating because it is unclear if he’s executing a long range dark arts type play. However, I’m a big believer in Dunning-Kruger and firmly believe there may be smart chess moves being made I can’t see yet. I get frustrated by those who assume he’s being dumb. Maybe, but what if the Khan thing plays well with voters the pollsters don’t typically reach? Or what if the long-term effect of the thing is very different from the immediate effect? What if Trump starts filling in the blank spaces thus creating a new picture (exactly as the lying media do – remember immediately after the event people thought Nixon won his debate with Kennedy?

I know I came away from the Kahn moment pissed this asshole (Kahn) left a Muslim country to come here to make us more Muslim.

    • His picking those fights is what I like about him; I decided I was for Trump because Americanthinker kept complaining about how Trump’s a white-male-chauvinist-Ahole; that did it for me. I wish he’d called the Mexican judge “little brown bastard”, and Khan “pencil-necked Wog;” then I’d support him even more enthusiastically. It pisses off that he’s endorsed Ryan, though. Baron Harkonnen makes a “deal.” (I do hope the Harkonnens obliterate the Fremen though.)

    truly great, fantastic, amazing, yuge…

and trump jr’s speech was the same.

the dems looked like they were taking a nap.

bernie and liz warren were the only half way decent speakers.

  15. Remember BDS? Bush Derangement Syndrome? Now we have TDS; Trump Derangement Syndrome. 13 months ago, when Trump threw his hat in the ring, I thought it would be for a couple of weeks and then he would drop out. But that didn’t happen. He was anti-PC, spoke the truth about immigration, and generally drove the lefty shitheads and lefty shithead media out of their minds. I really enjoyed watching that.

Compare that to the rest of the cuckservatives that were running; not much different from H and Bernie. Having H in charge will be a disaster, might take a generation or two to recover; if ever….

  16. I’m pro-Trump. Hillary and the factions she represents must be defeated. The only reservation I have about Trump is that he might unnecessarily damage current patterns of specialization+trade. I’m fine with restrictions on trade that better serve the values he represents but want reassurance that his advisors understand the full argument for globalization+free-ish trade and will model consequences as well as is possible. If this reassurance exists it’s not surviving constant establishment flak. your 401k will go down, etc. FUD. I’m certainly willing to risk it, knowing what I know about everyone’s motives. But Trump will more likely win if he can defuse that very potent fear (more relevant in the people who like to think they’re smart+rational+pragmatic, which when it comes to politics, probably they aren’t, but are just affiliated with the Daily Show tribe that laughably brands itself as such).

I wouldn’t worry. Larry Kudlow is one of his economic advisers.

  17. People posting “Trump is losing” evidence: what is your point? There’s also “Trump is winning” evidence. What you first need to agree with is “Trump *ought* to win”. If we can’t first agree on *that* then I have no further interest in you.

    • You must have missed my post above where I said as much.

Trump winning the nomination was the Stalingrad of the TruCons. If Paul Ryan loses his primary that will be their Berlin. After that Trump could lose by 50 points and it wouldn’t make a difference. Sites like RedState would have to simply go out of business because they would have nothing to talk about.

The Final Solution to the TruCon question is approaching. The only thing to be determined is whether or not it is going to occur this coming Tuesday.

  19. OT- Check out the use of ‘privilege’ in the this POLITICO article. This seems such a clumsy use of the word that I can’t help but wonder if it’s an instance of propaganda, to take a word favored by polemicists at a particular moment, like privilege, and find as many other uses for the word as possible to give the political usage (whites need to check their privilege) a sense of normalcy? Anyone here expert in the ways of propaganda who can weigh in?

  21. Hilary will get owned in the debates. Will she try and duck them? She may, and the media will cover for her.

    August 6, 2016 at 11:26 pm

    • She’s stuck between a rock and a hard place. Cannot see how she can duck the debates – she would be crucified, surely? But it would avoid disaster when Trump guts her.

Perhaps she will deem him too unfit even to debate?

Best guess is that, in addition to propping her up with dope, the DEM/MSM cabal will find some method of shielding and/or “helping” her, such as:
      a) putting in a ringer in Hillary-face to debate for her (just like Obama paid some look-a-like to take his LSATs for him)
      b) putting them both in stalls with blinkers on so neither can see the other, and with Trump muffled so no one can hear him clearly
      c) asking softball questions to Hillary, stacking the audience and running laugh-tracks/static over Trump replies
      d) holding the debates on NFL game-nights.
      e) a combination of the above

      • The debates should not be ‘held’ by any network and thus stacked with their cronies and slanted questions. And especially not ‘moderated’ by people who are paid opponents of Trump.

    • Trump never wanted to debate Cruz 1:1 (or throw Kasich in there since he haddnt technically dropped out) because his act only works when they are constantly switching topics and have people jumo in because they were “invoked”. He comes off as refreshing and direct in those exchanges.

Clearly there will be a number of Candy Crowley moments where he is going to be asked questions about the operation of government that he knows nothing about. All the journalists are gunning to be Kattie Couric who was the toast of the town for (along with HS) taking out Sarah Palin and throwing the election to Obama.

  22. Slightly O/T: This SNL skit of Bernie Sanders (played by fellow tribesman and Seinfeld maker, Larry David) shows you the true insanity, idiocy and the hypocrisy that defines the American left. Not that right-o-sphere is any better, but the left is far worse.

I have to say Larry David’s impersonation of Sanders is more than Kosher.
