Suggested Trump commercial

It begins: “Don’t believe the elites in the liberal media who hate Trump. Decide for yourself.”

Then some positive things about Trump, with backups of soundbites from his children’s speeches at the convention.

Then some negative things about Hillary Clinton, showing her lying.

Ad ends with Trump telling a roaring crowd “I will make America great again!”

  2. Drop the “liberal media” line, just say “media elites.” “Media elites” evokes non-partisan disdain. People who “liberal media” would play to are already in Trump’s camp, he needs to expand his base to working class Democrats and independents who might be put off by right wing buzzwords.

    • Better “establishment media”.

  4. I’d hire you to do campaign ads.

Now, how about a plot for St. Elmo’s Fire 2?

  5. Suggestion for Trump campaign.

    – not be a moron
    – drop out
    – actually reserve ad time two months ago you moron. It doesnt matter what ad you have if you cant place it because HRC and PACs reserved best slot long ago.
    – invent time machine and go back in time and start a data analytic operation so you would know which persuadable individuals in which battleground states you need to to appeal to in your marketing. Do this instead of holding Nuremberg rallies where you riff off the cuff to people who are already supporters and convince yourself you are #winning.

Basically it doesnt matter what ad Trump runs because he doesnt even know who he is targeting.

    • Are you going to jump off a bridge when Trump wins? It seems like you have made your whole life about attacking Trump every day 24/7, 365 days a year. What a pathetic loser.

  6. Ahem. Trump has apparently hired the firm that did Brexit.

  7. Lion offers great advice, but is Trump capable of understanding and implementing good counsel? If he had a few functioning brain cells, he’d be 20 points ahead in the polls by just saying and doing the obvious.

In the Pittsburgh Gazette a psychiatric nurse writes: “Over the past year, the GOP candidate has exhibited increasing mood, behavior and cognitive deterioration. His evident difficulty forming and expressing complex thoughts, childish lack of inhibition, inability to learn and retain new information, poor judgment, all have been exhaustively reported and witnessed in real time. These are symptoms often seen in an early stage of dementia.”

It’s not early onset dementia: Trump is 70. Rather, early stage dementia, or dementia before the patient starts drooling and not recognizing his own children.

    • “Lion offers great advice, but is Trump capable of understanding and implementing good counsel? ”

Trump followed my advice for the convention. The answer is “yes,” he can and has implemented good counsel.

Someone who was actually senile wouldn’t have been able to successfully debate at all. Or rouse the crowds. If anyone shows mental decline, it’s Bill Clinton who seems no longer able to rouse the crowds in speeches like he used to be able to do.

    • I seem to recall reading that back during the 1964 election, hundreds of psychiatrists signed an open letter pronouncing Barry Goldwater to be mentally unfit for the presidency. Of course, none of them had performed an in-person evaluation of the senator and therefore could not possibly have had the knowledge needed to render a diagnosis, and I believe hey were forced to withdraw the letter under threat of a lawsuit from the candidate. The psychiatric profession did not seem to have suffered any loss of prestige on account of coughing up that hairball though.

Anyway, if Trump is damaged goods, what about Clinton? She comes across as phony, dishonest, prickly, and is prone to making comments about how they’re going to “take things away from you on behalf of the common good.” And people think Trump is an authoritarian?

    • Psychiatric ‘nurse.’ This is just confirmation of Fussell’s observation about prole women’s desire to assume a pose of expertise above their station and education level. I see this crap all the time.

    • Looking forward to Nurse Ratched’s evaluation of Hillary. The reporters look freaked out when the seizure starts, but she laughs it off like it’s no big deal.

  8. The ad would be great if he actually spent some money and ran ads. As I told you in a comment a number of weeks ago, we are inundated here in Florida with pro-Hillary and anti-Trump ads. On network Tv, it is literally a Hillary ad at least once every commercial block. Now he went from being ahead in Fl to being behind Hillary. It’s no surprise given the complete absence of advertising. Yes, his Fl rallies draw record numbers, but that’s not indicative of Election Day results. All that means is his base is fired up.

For someone who claims to be a multi-billionaire, he’s pretty damn stingy. If you’re so rich, Trump, spend a few hundred million on ads and prove that you’re really in this to win it. Where a man’s heart is, there is also his treasure.

I’m voting for Trump, but he sure doesn’t know how to run a campaign. Or his own mouth.

  9. My advice to Trump is 1) figure out a career path that can get Ivanka into the White House as soon as possible and start working the plan now; and 2) get her to go on record as often as possible against immigration and bad trade deals, so that she will be psychologically committed to that stuff and more resistant to peer pressure from her friends, such as Chelsea Clinton and Georgina Bloomberg.

  10. We’ve got a few loser NeverTrumpers here. Give me a break. Trump came outta nowhere to schlong 16 experienced politicians including the Bush family (a family with 2 governors and 2 presidents in one family). He’s pushed the Overton window further than ANYONE in my lifetime and now he’s, according to latest (probably biased in Hillary’s favor) polls drawn to within 3% of Clinton. And all this with the ENTIRE media and the establishment of both parties acting in a coordinated fashion to destroy him. And despite all that we still have loser commentators insulting and belittling the man. Trump is a freakin’ genius. The NeverTrumpers are bitter losers and/or paid Hillary shills. Time to shut up, losers.

  11. Trump’s campaign is really improving. He’s taking advice, giving much better speeches and raising a lot of money. He did the smart thing last night and endorsed Ryan, McCain and Ayotte.

We need another 2 weeks for things to fully settle down from the Dem convention/Khan story/media blitz and then polls should begin converging again. Trump will be ahead again by early September, and this time there will be no looking back.

I still think our best bet might be for Trump to lose a squeaker and have the American people endure 4 years of Hillary. Do we really want Trump blamed for the upcoming recession?

  12. “I will make America great again!” is drivel, and without specifics makes me very cynical.

    • It would’ve been nice, had his children spoke in a front of a crowd of young White people like them, who haven’t been poisoned yet.

  14. Comey’s announcement he would not press charges could be it’s own ad. If he had recommended bringing charges nothing in his public statement would have been different except the portion where he explained why he wouldn’t advance the case.

  15. sounds good. ‘bought and paid for media’ ‘foreign billionaire owned media’ ‘bribed and corrupt media’ etc. not ‘liberal media’. would go with ‘brainwashed’ but don’t want to dilute that – it’s for hillary

  16. How about a commercial on immigration that features Kramer barging into Jerry’s apartment. It says we want people who knock before coming into our country not just barging in.

Would you like it if a stranger barged into your house and started to eat out of your frig or slept in your bed and then gave you a bill for it? Of course not. You would call the cops and have him removed it he did’t leave.

Well, America is our house and we don’t want people just barging in and making themselves at home without our permission.

Nobody has a right to come to America just like nobody has a right to go into your home.

Would your let just anybody into your house? No. We shouldn’t just let anybody into our country either.

Is it racist or xenophobic to make people knock and ask to come into your house?

Houses can only hold so many people they get too crowded and can a country.

We built this country and don’t want it wrecked by people who have no respect for it or take advantage of it.

Most people make even their best friend knock and their friend leaves if nobody answers.
