Girls can do anything boys can do

Even mug people. Including mugging a crippled guy with no arms. (I guess he was an easy target being literally unarmed.)

De Blasio is letting the city go to hell. We need to bring back tough “racist” policing.

  1. For the benefit of your flyover readers, what are you, personally, observing?

    • New York City is doing better than other major cities crime wise which suggests that lion is full of shit with his predictions about what would happen with the end of stop-and-frisk.

      • Crime is controlled in NYC because poor people are being pushed out by high rent. And immigrants are pushing out much less well behaved native-born blacks.

      • And even if those trends somehow ramped up right at the moment they ended stop and frisk in perfect proportion to counteract the effects of that policy change and you were right about the ceteris paribus effects you were still wrong in your prediction.

      • Crime is up in all other big cities, so I was more right than wrong.

      • No because you’re prediction specifically related to stop and frisk which wasn’t stopped in any other city. If all else were equal between NYC and other cities the fact that it went up more in other places indicates that ending stop and frisk actually lowered crime.

  2. As a resident of NYC since 1988, I agree with Lion’s assessment. Hyper gentrification is pushing out many poor and working class blacks and Puerto Ricans. Unfortunately it’s also pushing out anyone who makes less than 100 grand a year, because it takes that much to make ends meet unless you live in a rent controlled apartment. There are a lot of 3rd and 4th generation New Yorkers, I’m speaking about white ethnics and Chinese, who can no longer afford to live in the city they were born in. Ultimately, making the city unaffordable for a productive working class will be disastrous, but that’s another story.

    • In my neighborhood, Sunset Park, which is not that far out, there’s a Puerto Rican or Dominican anywhere there’s not a Mexican or an Arab. The R is a row of cattle cars crammed with Puerto Ricans, Dominicans, Mexicans, and Arabs. The intersection of Atlantic and 4th is a mob of Blacks, PR/Dominicans, and Arabs. Fulton Mall is an overflowing river of Blacks. Court Street likewise. My gym on 15th Street in the South Slope is about 25% Black, 25% PR/Dominican, 25% Guido, 10% Arab, 5% Chinese, and 10% gentry. (In Park Slope even the gentry are walking around with pitbulls and tattoos, turning themselves into Puerto Ricans.) Every bus, train, and subway is oozing non-gentry out the windows. The Staten Island Ferry is stuffed to bursting with non-gentry. Non-gentryish dance-pop is inescapable, droning and croaking out of the window of every honking car and SUV, not a single one of which is driven by a member of the gentry. There are so many of these non-gentry-driven vehicles that 4th and 5th Avenue are typically jammed all the way from 45th Street to Atlantic Avenue. I’m not aware of any gentrification whatsoever.

  3. Steve Sailer said that De Blasio went back to allowing the police to do their jobs in response to growing crime rates. If true, that would certainly put a lid on things.

  5. On the other hand, one guy got 5 years for “mugging as a hate crime” Pretty harsh.
