Since when do they have women baseball announcers?

I’m watching the N.L Wildcard Game, and there’s some woman in the broadcasting crew. What the ****? The announcers are supposed to be ex Major League players themselves. Hearing a female voice where one doesn’t belong is grating on me.

* * *

It all went bad for the Mets after they took Syndergaard out. Davey Johnson would never have taken Dwight Gooden or Ron Darling out of a game if they were pitching a shutout, especially not in a crucial must-win situation like this.

  1. Solo Boxeo had a woman commenter for a while and she was actually not bad. I don’t know about baseball, not my game.

    October 5, 2016 at 9:21 pm

    • A lot of anti-women feelings here and this isn’t healthy. Here she is and she wasn’t bad. I watch Solo Boxeo in the gym with sound off, I don’t need a strange voice drilling a hole in my head when the action is clear, but I just don’t get all this excitement. Baseball is a kids’ game, you need someone to tell you what goes on?

      October 6, 2016 at 7:40 am

    • No, Yakov, not anti-woman at all. Is it anti-elephant to find the sight of circus elephants in tutus head-down with their hindlegs up in the air repulsive? Everything has its place in the scheme of things. Out-of-place things offend.

  2. That is disgusting. It’s the Mets, too. What a shame.

    • Fucking ESPN crew.

The Yankees have had women broadcasters on both TV and radio for years. It’s so painful.

      • ESPN is one of the most politically correct companies in the world. They are vile.

  3. I hear you. I find it annoying myself and I’m a woman. I think that part of it is that you get the feeling that these sports announcer females are somebody’s “daddy’s little girl” and therefore gets this perceived good or anyway prominent assignment. I recall when you pointed out that lots of “reporters” at the NYTimes are the children of very rich people. Ordinary folks can’t get those jobs.

Anyway, people love the former players or the hometown announcers, but these women are conspicuously out of place.

  4. The woman basketball announcer who usually does the sideline reporting but occasionally does the color commentary is phenomenal.

Trump is TIED with Crooked Hillary in the latest Gravis poll. This is all post debate. He was down by 5 pre debate.

I feel like the evidence shows that the debate did not hurt Trump.

  6. so what went through the minds of the apparatchiks?

    all men…must have a woman…because sexism…

ignoring that almost all the fans and all the players are men.

ladies announcing figure skating, diving, gymnastics…then it would make sense.

i just want bob costas to be cloned and/or be immortal. then have joe morgan and mccarver do the “color”.

red rover red rover don’t send any ladies right over.

    and…baseball is sooo… boring…except in the post-season under the lights…nothing like it!

    October 5, 2016 at 10:59 pm

  7. Lady baseball announcers are great because they annoy baseball fans as much as baseball annoys me. I’d rather watch paint dry.

    October 5, 2016 at 11:49 pm

    • In Russia they sell thousands if baseball bats each year, but very few balls. The boring game doesn’t jive with their national character. Are baseball fans usually also football fans, or not?

Lion grew up prole and it shouldn’t come as a surprise that he does prole stuff. This is a very stupid game though, like waste hours of your time watching guys pitching a ball and running in a circle, please. Very dumb. What do people find in this game? Lion, why you like baseball?

      October 6, 2016 at 7:29 am

        October 6, 2016 at 5:00 pm

      • I use “jive” to mean “goes along with,” and I think many people do. To me, “jibe” means “an insult or witty criticism.”

      • @Gozo

This is precisely how I’d used it. English isn’t the best, but it’s the most useful language in the world. Wait, doesn’t this make it the best? Dunno.

JS, in your opinion, whats better English or French? After your masterful and legal tax evasion scheme I feel friendly towards you. That was outstanding and my friends were very impressed. Let’s see how long the feelings last.

        October 7, 2016 at 8:00 am

      • I will read this book very soon.

It seems to be me that I came to the same conclusion as the author that the French are more free-spirited and individualistic than the narrow minded Anglo Proles, with more intellectual inclinations, which is the reason why Montréal is the most self actualizing, creative and intellectual city in all of North America (not very money oriented like New York City). The same reason why Paris is the same as Montréal, but snobbier.

My stupid unfinished blog makes the same conclusion why the French are more free-spirited, independent and intellectual, using Descartes as an example, comparing to his Anglo Prole Contemporary Francis Bacon, who was also a philosopher, but was less intellectual, and got into a massive debt from frivilous consumption, and then lost his job. This behavior is typical of many Anglo Proles who only focus on money and the petty consumption that comes with it.

        October 7, 2016 at 10:54 am

      • Bobos or SWPLs in America work to live, not the other around like the French.

Most of them don’t genuinely self actualize, unless they have inherited wealth, and here’s the reason:

With rental prices and cost of live measures so high in American liberal centers, they work to live, instead of living to work. Not many fun/interesting jobs pay the bills in an American liberal center.

        October 7, 2016 at 11:05 am

      • JS, so let us know what you think of the book. Looks interesting.

        October 7, 2016 at 3:10 pm

      • dear God, just more romance supremacism from JS.

        was it heidegger who said…

when the french think, they think in german.

        philosophy is greek and german.

      • even “the messiah” of anglo-prole “philosophy” is a german speaker.

wittgenstein, a 3/4s jewish austrian (but christian true believer).

and the anal-ytic philosophasters are also fans of frege…my God what a moron.

        of course heidegger was right.

he claimed the reason was that german and ancient greek were suited to philosophizing and other languages were not.

basically philosophy ends with marx, nietzsche, heidegger, nietzsche being the least of the three.

heidegger died in 1976. he took philosophy with him.

  8. I’m a little surprised you like baseball. I would have thought you would think it was prole.

    October 5, 2016 at 11:53 pm

      October 6, 2016 at 1:38 pm

    • Baseball is certainly the least prole of the big professional sports.

      October 6, 2016 at 6:15 pm

    • Some MLB teams are prolier than others. The Red Sux is perhaps the proliest, and their fans are very prole. Fenway Park is a dumpster.

  9. Regarding the after the “***”: I think Familia has a history of failing in non-save situations too, so putting him in for the 9th was questionable. What a choker, though. He’s supposed to be a shut-down closer. What use is he if he can’t pitch an inning in the most important game of the year? I hope they revoke his visa.

  11. I have a great idea! A baseball announcer with an extremely heavy South Asian, or, even better, Chinese accent! Wait, how about an South Asian announcer teamed up with a Chinese color-commenter? That would be awesome! On the Staten Island ferry yesterday, nearing the St. George side, the instruction to “those wishing to reboard” (all tourists) to leave the ferry and go through the terminal to board another one was delivered in a very heavy South Asian accent. Nobody else seemed to think that this was funny. Complicated instructions about subway reroutes are usually delivered over the malfunctioning PA system in the cars by old sharecroppers through mouthfuls of cornmeal ‘n’ m’lasses, or by headhunters of indeterminate origin. These instructions are of course mainly being delivered TO other headhunters of entirely distinct but just as indeterminable origin — places with names that one would expect to precede the word “Bug” in an article on some horrifying new disease.

    October 6, 2016 at 2:56 am

    • Indeed, more and more jobs are being taken over by Asians and Africans and Mestizos, with the consequent decrease in quality and increase in corruption. Diversity is our strength! Probably the only reason they don’t have a bunch of Asian sports announcers yet is that all the diversity slots are saved for blacks and women.

      October 6, 2016 at 9:19 am

    • Every East Asian baseball player in the MLB is foreign, a few I believe even come from Latin America where they communicate in Spanish.

South Asians who were colonized by the Anglo Proles watch cricket and I haven’t seen anyone from South Asia play in the MLB.

  13. You have a problem with female announcers? C’mon Lion! It’s THE CURRENT YEAR!

Actually, I totally agree with you. And yes, dumb move by the Mets to pull Syndegaard, but I think Bumgarner could have pitched 20 innings last night and the Mets would still never get a run off him.

So now it’s Chicago vs San Fran, two despicable cities. One the height of corruption, the other the height of pozzed lunacy. Can they both lose?

    October 6, 2016 at 9:16 am

    • Actually we don’t have many pozzers anymore. They got rich and moved to La Jolla. Now we’re the capital of white kids with dreds who wish they were black.

      Frisco Frank

      October 6, 2016 at 11:07 am

      • “Pozzed” doesn’t mean literally HIV+. It’s a state of mind. White kids w/dreads are mentally colonized, i.e., pozzed.

They were saving Syndergaard’s arm for next year. He (and Colon) are the only pitchers left on that staff w/o arm trouble. Management knew that they weren’t going to win the WS, and that MadBum was relentless, so they decided to flip a coin and go with their relief pitchers and see what happened. They lost. Actually Reed did well but Familia coughed up the HR to a journeyman, oh well, that’s baseball.

How does a 43 year old pitch w/o arm trouble? That is the question.

  14. Like I’ve said, I dunno anything about baseball, and I don’t listen to boxing commentators, but for boxing she is good. This anti-women attitude is why a lot if you guys can’t form a family, I think. Some women are strong and capable and can be superior to men. I don’t have a problem with this.

    October 6, 2016 at 10:09 am

    • I’m quite sure that every rabbinical authority in Boro Park would find the idea of a female boxing commentator appalling. Are the rabbinical authorities of Boro Park anti-woman?
Regarding the halachah of wife-swatting: Rambam permits it under certain conditions in Mishneh Torah, I believe. An Ashkenaz authority wrote to him about this, saying, “Among us this is not done!” No doubt the Italian maternal lineage of Ashkenazim (the original Italian girls were of course properly converted) made it impossible to swat them — they’d just hit you back, and then what would you do? Tie them to the bed and tickle them? (‘m not sure about the halachah of wife-binding. Of course, knot-tying is forbidden on Shabbat.)

    • The dreadfully low average, relatively mediocre RBI totals and massive number of strikeouts may also be a factor.

      October 6, 2016 at 3:31 pm

    • Now that we have Wins Above Replacement (which measures a player against a hypothetical replacement from the minors) we can see that Kingman was nothing special. His career WAR is only 18 which is nowhere near the top 1000 baseball players. You would need a WAR of 26 to crack the top 1000. Only 217 former major league players are even in the Hall of Fame.

His batting average was low and he rarely walked, meaning he hardly ever got on base. The anti-moneyball player.

      Lion of the Blogosphere

      October 6, 2016 at 11:56 am

      • Because it’s not the dog that’s the problem, it’s the owner. First you ban dogs, then guns, then people. No, America doesn’t beleive in this. America beleives in freedom. If I want a vicious dog, that’s my prerogative.

        October 6, 2016 at 12:03 pm

        October 6, 2016 at 1:10 pm

      • Ah — did you read my account of encounters with pitbull-walking ladies in a previous comment-thread? Yakov, if you’re permitted to walk around with a pitbull (and I hope you don’t, because if so I must abandon my dreams of joining your gang), then I should be permitted to walk around with a large sledge-hammer or pick-axe. But even this would not be enough, since pitbulls attack on their own, and as I have noted, lunge at people and are only restrained from killing or seriously harming them by the leashes around their necks (and the inability of a woman to restrain a pitbull that is trying hard to kill someone is one reason that women in particular should not be permitted to own or walk them). So, I should really be permitted to walk around with a machinegun that is only prevented from spraying bullets by the continuing pressure of my finger upon a button. Gentlemen should shoot pitbulls on sight, and cudgel the scoundrels (or smack the whores) who walk them.

        October 6, 2016 at 1:20 pm

      • I don’t know that much about pitbuls, but I see little kids playing with them, so they can’t be that dangerous . Anyway, if it turns out that they are, just exterminate all of them and finished. They were bread and can be unbread.

        October 6, 2016 at 2:11 pm

      • Garr, I wasn’t going to go into an exposition of how the Jewish attitude to corporeal punishment of women had evolved through the ages. I dealt with here and now. Since you bring it up, Rambam was not the only authority to permit it, but you have to understand the historical context. When women were not educated, married at puberty and would spend their lives bussy with household chores, their intellectual development was arrested early and they remained childlike. This is the reason that they were treated like children. The physical punishment permitted was mild and didn’t equal seriously beating someone up. As far as I know this practice is not mentioned in the Talmud and as such isn’t the original Jewish approach to conflict resolution in marriage. Nobody would suggest to switch Ivanka, you know.

I think that the rabbinical authorities of Boro-Park are against empowering women and are afraid of it. In that sense, you can say that they are anti-women. I don’t think that they would alow boxing period. My son had to sneak out for his boxing training and keep it secret. Regardless, the discussion we are having here has nothing to do with any authorities, religious or otherwise. People are venting their frustrations, which I just don’t share. You can’t throw around religion selectively. You either take it seriously or you don’t.

        October 6, 2016 at 3:08 pm

      • Pit bulls are responsible for something like 95% of fatal dog attacks on humans. However, most pit bulls never attack a human. Likewise, most blacks are not murderers or even convicted felons — some are even skilled doctors. One’s an HBD blogger. And some Ashkenazim are homeless panhandlers.

Pit bulls have killer tendencies that were bred into them, just as terriers have a tendency to kill vermin. I grew up with two Scotties: one who would kill every living non-human, non-dog thing that entered our yard, including our neighbor’s cat. The other was paralyzed with fear and lost control of her bladder at the sight of a rabbit. They were socialized the same way.

        October 6, 2016 at 4:26 pm

      • Right, Yakov; I said “swatting”, which implies mildness. I acknowledged that Ashkenaz women weren’t swatted, because, being half-Italian, they’d just hit you back and then you’d have to tie them up and tickle them. Intellectual development of women wasn’t arrested; it was just womanly. I promise you that the women I “teach” are much more childish that the Ashkenaz women of yore. Yes, women weren’t encouraged to study Gemara. What percentage of women do you think actually wanted to study Gemara? Most of the very few who do so today only do so in order to say “FU” to the men. I brought up the rabbinical authorities of Boro Park in order to make the point that to see it as fitting that women do womanly things is not at all anti-woman; it’s completely obvious that traditional Jewish society is the farthest thing from anti-woman. I’ve been the shnorrer at enough Shabbas-meals, and walked around enough Boro Park streets and been into enough stores there to know this. I don’t see what you’re getting at with “you can’t throw around religion selectively …..” You’re the one who told TUJ that “our law” forbids wife-swatting. Grumble, grumble. I’m hungry. Where’s the little wife that’s supposed to be making me hamburgers right now?

      • LM: In the East Village area, I’ve met White Mexicans, Native Puerto Ricans (who are usually White in appearance), and White Hispanics in general, and it’s quite fascinating to know none of these individuals live among Hispanics in their inner city areas. Quite a number of them have 6 figure salaries, where they reside in Stuyvesant Town or buildings with a White demographic, instead of the poor welfare induced Losaida areas (the Spanish term for the Puerto Rican El Barrio which is now Avenue C and Avenue D), where many of its residents are products of dysgenic inbreeding.

        October 6, 2016 at 5:51 pm

      • These type of dogs (pit bulls, rottweilers, dobermans) are dangerous because they are extremely loyal to their owners. They attach to their owners very readily and any perceived slight can set them off against a stranger.

Sure, they can be very loving toward children…but may not be toward your child’s friend.

        October 6, 2016 at 6:49 pm

      • Map, than this is an excellent dog! I don’t have a problem with a faithful dog, I hate faggoty dogs, though. Who needs them?

What about a Bull Terrier? Is that a good dog? I like the shape of its head. Really neat head. The coat is nice too and the tail is pleasant to hold. They have a mini version of them, but those are too small, I’m talking about the big ones. What are these for and how much they eat? Do they need meat every day? I guess every dog needs meat every day. They should breed a vegan dog for all these crazy vegans. I think a dog would eat a fish, but would it eat a frog?

      • Garr, the legal rationale for hitting women was that their minds are feeble, like those of children and fools.

        October 7, 2016 at 11:19 am

    • Banning inherently aggressive and dangerous dogs, make sense, in a way that smart nations restrict immigration of low IQ immigrant groups, who have tendency to become a riff-raff or a liability to society.

NYC is a no holds barred society, when it comes to immigrants and NAMs. And this is the reason why it’s expensive to live there, other than the fact, White transplants with means have been sold to the idea that they’re living in the center of the universe, which is painfully untrue.

Moreover, NAMs in NYC contribute very little to the vibrancy of the city. 99% of PRs, Dominicans and blacks have nothing to offer to the White demographic, not even culture, let alone cuisine, just only welfare dependency and liberal victimhood.

Just imagine more people decide to own pitbulls, where they become a menace to other people around them. This causes segregation and unease, the same way, normal people feel very uncomfortable around NAMs.

      October 6, 2016 at 5:43 pm

      • Maybe, but I dunno if these are that dangerous. Like I’ve said: if they are, exterminate them, don’t pussy foot around them. I don’t have a dog in the fight and am open minded about this issue. It’s just this totalitarian mind set of vanishing stuff: animals, soda drinks, etc….like in the USSR.

  17. Research has shown that Met fans are generally more educated with higher incomes.

When was the last time anyone saw a NAM wear a Mets cap, let alone riff-raff?

Another proof: Jews are likely to root for the Mets, but not Italians (or Guidos).

    October 6, 2016 at 11:53 am

Vin Scully, the recently retired voice of Dodgers for 67 seasons, never played MLB.

Ernie Harwell did MLB play by play on radio and television for 55 seasons, 42 of them with the Detroit Tigers. He never played MLB.

Mel Allen was the voice of the New York Yankees during the 1940s, 50s and 60s. He never played MLB.

Red Barber did MLB play by play with the Cincinnati Reds, Brooklyn Dodgers and Yankees 1934-66. He never played MLB.

  19. OT: The hurricane is looking to put a beat down on the Miami area. As many as 9 million may lose power. Are we set for another great wave of Diversity Looting and NAM wailing? I hope so! That should help Trump win Florida (get out the white voters).

Since Obama is President there will be no blaming him when the gubmint screws up the rescue efforts and such. Or maybe they will blame Booosh (“Malignant Effects of Bush’s Mishandling of Katrina Still Linger” is my guess at the NY Times headline).

Honestly my biggest fear with this hurricane is that we’re set for another wave of Haitian immigrants and all the SJWs weeping about their suffering from the global warming so they have to move to America.

  20. You mates are strange. Again, I know nothing about baseball, so maybe that woman is no good. I dunno. But Claudia Trejos is pretty good and I’m happy for her that she is successful and has a great career. Again, I don’t listen to her because I understand boxing. I’m not an alpha, but I don’t understand all this envy and venom. I mean who cares? Unless baseball is something different. Now, there some things women can’t be, but baseball? The girls watch it as much as boys, why can’t they comment? Such a weird post, ufff. This is sexism.

Actually, here is the thing. They, the women, have their own leagues, are there any male announcers by them? I think I remember hearing male announcers at female competitions. So it’s fair that there should be female announcers by males. As long as they are qualified, of course.

JS, you also think that a woman can’t be a baseball announcer? Would it fly in Montreal?

  21. It’s sad that no one has pointed out that Jessica Mendoza played at Stanford and as an olympic gold medal.

Also, she has been in the ESPN Sunday booth all year, and worked the AL Wild Card game for ESPN last year (also played in NY).

The only thing I don’t like about her is that she gave her children stupid names: Caleb and Caden.

The Yankees have had a female color commentator on the radio for many years.

  22. is there an hbd explanation?

mlb is still fairly close to the general population in the racial identity of its players, except that black latinos are over-represented.

or is it just that white’s like baseball more than the other team sports?
