Why are #NeverTrumpers against Trump? Where did the tape come from?

There are a lot of dumb conspiracy theories out there.

Why are #NeverTrumpers against Trump? The simple answer is because they fear being called racist or misogynist or Islamophobic or any of those other words that the politically correct mainstream media use to control spineless Republicans and conservatives.

Where did the tape come from? If it came from the Bushes, they got their cousin fired because of it, and if the Bushes had the tape, why didn’t they use it during the primaries so that Jeb could knock Trump out and win the nomination? No, the simple answer is that it came from the Hillary campaign, or SJW types who want to stop Trump.

  1. It came from Ryan’s guy, Dan Senor. Read Cernovich. The NeverTrumpers are part of the rigged Uniparty system. They hate Trump because he’ll act in the interests of the American people and not the donor class.

    • Lol, they hate Trump because he’ll act in the interests of the American people and not the donor class? That it is a stunning level of stupidity on display right there. I almost hope Trump wins so you can see how brutally wrong you are. Trump is not on your side, he’s as much on your side as he is on the NeverTrumpers. He only cares about himself, and will lie, cheat or bully to get it. As soon as he’s won the election, you morons would have outlived your usefulness to him. Good luck getting him to make good on 1/10th the promises he’s making.

  3. mike cernovich is saying a source told him it came from former romney-ryan advisor dan senor. he’s married to journalist campbell brown, who when she was asked about the rumor on twitter responded, and didn’t deny it was true.

    • Billy Bush lost his job at NBC and is literally crying about it. The Bush clan might relish revenge, but I doubt they’d be that cruel to one of their own.

I can believe that Hillary’s team would leak it, but as I’ve said here before, talking about sex this election is MAD for the Clintons. You could tell that Bill was freaking out about his accusers coming to the debate. Hillary took advantage of the leak on Twitter, but it would have looked even more suspicious if she had kept quiet, and she didn’t drill down on the tape at the debate. She more or less said, “This tape just shows that Trump isn’t fit for office, just as the Judge Curiel, Khan family, making fun of the disabled journalist did!”

I think that the tape leak was either something NBC did on its own, because corporations loathe Trump quite generally, or it was a brought about by a NeverTrump conspiracy. The way so many NevrrTrumpers and GOPe figures who had lukewarmly “endorsed” him decided to denounce him simultaneously and uniformly all at once was stunning.

I can’t help but imagine how horrifying what happened to Billy Bush must be to people working in the entertainment industry in LA. Virtually every star and powerful person in Hollywood is a serial rapist by SJW standards.

      October 11, 2016 at 4:28 PM

      • what if billy bush was “””””suspended?”””””

      • If the Bush clan really wanted to shiv Trump, why not have done last autumn? That way Jeb would have hard a much better chance of winning.

NBC might bring back Billy Bush, but right now his situation sounds absolutely dire, and it would be hard for NBC to walk back from the vicious treatment he’s getting.

And yes, while I don’t know Bill Bush well, I do feel sorry for him. His private words may have been icky, but I’m sure almost everyone who works in Hollywood speaks and acts like that in private. It’s pretty damn cold that his career is being annihilated as part of an effort to derail Trump.

I guess the ends justify the means for those who leaked the tape, but it’s still snakeblooded.

  4. You look at what happened to California. In 1994 Pete Wilson, the Republican Governor, was in a close race for reelection with Kathleen Brown (younger sister of current governor Jerry Brown). He used the anti-illegal immigration proposition 187 to motivate the base and win reelection.

Prop 187 was ruled largely unconstitutional but the lasting effect is that the Mexican and Hispanic in California are a reliable Democratic voting block. The only “Republican” that has been able to win state wide office is Arnold Schwarzenegger, who is generally considered a RINO. Schwarzenegger had strong Hispanic support.

California was the state that elected Ronald Reagan governor and Richard Nixon to the US Senate. Currently all state wide offices are held by Democrats. California has a top two primary system where candidates from all parties run in a single primary and the top two appear on the November ballot. For the open US Senate seat to replace Barbra Boxer there are two Democrats on the ballot. The Republican party was not able to find a candidate with enough name recognition to come in second in the primary.

The #nevertrump are afraid that over the next 20 years the Trump campaign will do to the national Republican party what prop 187 did to the California Republican party.

    • So why are Mexispanics a reliable Democratic voting block freaking everywhere then? (Cuz kids need handouts or they’ll starve, that’s why.) And I’ll bet the vast majority of California Mexispanics haven’t even heard of Prop 187.

      Garr

      October 11, 2016 at 4:39 PM

    • Weren’t Mexican Americans and Hispanics already a dependable Democrat constituency before Prop. 187? Main difference between then and now is the numbers. If California had the same demographic profile that it did in 1980 or even in 1990 it would still be a toss up state.

      Sgt. Joe Friday

      October 11, 2016 at 4:51 PM

      • If the demographics were the same as in the 1980s, then California would probably be a toss up state. In 1994 it was already clear that California was going to be a minority majority state in not that many years. After Prop 187 a lot more Hispanics became US citizens and registered to vote.

The #NeverTrump people are worried about states like Texas and Arizona. The demographic trends in those states indicate they may be more competitive in the next 10 years or so, if Hispanics are voting 80% democratic.

  7. And they don’t wish to be identified with a candidate who has antagonized foreign allies, understands next to nothing about foreign affairs, has threatened to lock up his political enemies, has boasted (even idly) about sexually assaulting women, has needlessly offended minority voters (the rest of the party is trying to broaden the base), and so on and so forth. Consider this:
Trump’s chief advisors are a motley threesome of political walking-dead who brought their own careers to untimely ends through marital infidelity, power grasping and a disastrous presidential bid (Gingrich); marital infidelity and two ill-conceived runs for president (Giuliani) and scandal (Christy). The reason these vacancies to join Team Trump were available is because no one with any sense would touch his candidacy with a 10 foot pole. Hoping against hope and dreaming of cabinet positions in a Trump Presidency, they grasped at the straw Trump offered in order to resuscitate their own political careers. Understandable. But why, do you suppose, advisors with cleaner histories and better credentials couldn’t be lured aboard “Make America Great, LLC” in the first place? If you care to dig into a very well written explanation, see https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/donald-trumps-vile-candidacy-is-chemotherapy-for-the-gop/2016/10/10/73e40f30-8f05-11e6-9c85-ac42097b8cc0_story.html?utm_term=.0fc6a80fa410.

      • If your saying that she purposely sabotages America’s interests I disagree. If you’re saying that her vote for the war in Iraq was an example of terrible decision-making, I do agree. Clinton has gotten a number of things right and a few things wrong, which is in keeping with the track records of other Secretaries of State. You are aware that no former Secretary of State and a long, bi-partisan list of high-ranking people who have held positions at State, in the CIA and in other posts related to foreign diplomacy have come out against Trump – a man who demonstrates every time he opens his mouth that he knows next to nothing about these matters.

It’s amazing how you people think that “foreign affairs” is some kind of technical field like bridge-building that requires a distinct body of knowledge to pull off successfully. You must really believe that repeating “diplomacy” is some kind of skill. The reality is that Secretaries of State are chosen in popularity contests among networked people. Remember, John Kerry was a Secretary of State. You must have some real fetish for government if you think any of these clowns are qualified.

Let’s understand what “diplomacy” really is. Diplomacy is a discussion about power. It is not that power. The only reason why leftists think “diplomacy” matters is because they forget the US aircraft carrier parked in the harbor. Without American military might, most Secretaries of States “demands” would be met by separating their heads from their shoulders. Look how effective Ambassador Stevens was in Benghazi without military power backing them. Why didn’t he use his “diplomacy?”

I could not care less what these inbred, unqualified, trust-funders from connected families think about Trump. They are simply worried that he will cut them off from the government teat. That’s all.

The result of their meddling is that they have made the world are far, far more dangerous place now than at any point in the last 20 years. With their immigration policies, then plan on bringing those problems right to your doorstep.

    • Yeah, thanks trolls. Vote for Hillary. She will remake the Supreme Court, flood the country with illegals and foreigners at your expense, get rid of the first and second amendment and make sure you never control the executive branch again. After she is done, your Washington Generals routine will no longer be necessary and they can dispense with you completely.

Go ahead and pretend that Saudi Arabia is an ally; that Libya and Benghazi show knowledge of foreign affairs; that felons should run for president; that liking sex is icky; that minorities are natural Republicans and that Democrats are the real racists.

Go ahead and pretend that this 1929 Evangelical Bishop’s Conference routine over “marital fidelity” even matters when Hillary pulls the nonprofit status of your church. drafts your son to fight Russia in an unwinnable war and offers the only job your daughter is ever going to have: rug-munching the parade of bull-dykes Hillary is itching to have run the government.

Go ahead and keep dreaming that a Jeb Bush pitching open borders, off-shore outsourcing, mass immigration and carry-interest tax cuts for hedge funds and private equity ever had a snowball’s chance in hell of beating Hillary… because he was “respectable.”

Maybe you’re too stupid to understand this right now, but it will eventually dawn on you exactly what you have lost: the Republican base will no longer listen to or even need you. They will check out. And with them checked out…guess what? The Democrats won’t need you either. You’ve outlived your useful. You will finally see what your “allies” are really like.

The Devil will then come to collect his soul.

As for the tape, didn’t someone in the comments say it came after producers decided to review old material for the show? Whoever leaked it was probably in the bag for Clinton, but that doesn’t mean it came from the Clinton camp.

      • The question is why NeverTrumpers oppose Trump, but your “simple explanation” is not so simple. Most Republicans probably feel they will be accused of racism regardless of what they believe (so long as they’re Republicans).

“If they cared about winning the general election, they wouldn’t have opposed him after he won the nomination.”

A couple of points. You’re assuming a kind of rational cost-benefit calculation that people are probably not generally inclined toward. Instead I think it’s safer to say people tend to be more stubborn and tribal. Now why are they locked into NeverTrumped?

Well, people can also behave in rationally irrational ways. By giving an ultimatum — essentially playing chicken — you can force the other side to do the responsible thing and make a concession. In this instance, Republicans still went with Trump, but it doesn’t follow that NeverTrumpers should cave; that would mean they lose face and will never be taken seriously again.

The absolute worst thing that can happen to Clinton is if Trump gets replaced on the ballot because he ain’t gonna win (barring some kind of game-changing, one-off event). The NeverTrumpers were hoping the pussy-grab tape would mean the GOP candidate’s downfall, but it didn’t play out that way. Now they’re probably hoping he dies of a heart-attack.

Islamophobia is also complete bullshit. If Muslims are so fucking harmless than why are we fighting them? Sure not all Muslims are terrorists, but all terrorists in the “War on Terror” happen to be Muslim. Profiling is essential to all law enforcement. When Sherlock Holmes takes a case he doesn’t try to spy on everyone in London. He forms a profile of the likely suspects and then investigates them. I know you might not have the same morality, but how can you not at least *suspect* that other people might have a morality to which Trump is a non-starter. Nothing to do with with being called mean names. I reject this binary view. Someone must earn my vote, my endorsement. Not simply be less venal and corrupt than the other option.
