#SpiritCooking

There’s no way that John Podesta takes that crap seriously, although no doubt he got a smug self-satisfaction from knowing he was at a cutting edge type of cultural event putting him on a higher plane than less enlightened Americans, you know, the kind that Obama calls “bitter clingers.”

But I won’t stop other people from trying to make a big deal about it if it works and sways some stupid voters from Hillary to Trump. The Democrats will use any mean trick in the book to attack Trump, so it’s only fair that they should get back what they give.

  1. I’ve only seen evidence that he was invited to go, not that he actually went.

But the entire thing creeps me the hell out.

    • Abramovic denies he went, though his brother did.

“I’m outraged, because this is taken completely out of my context,” Abramovic told me by phone this afternoon. She was at Sean Kelly Gallery, her rep in New York. The dinner, she explained, was a reward for donors to a Kickstarter campaign she had run. Tony Podesta has collected her work since the 1990s, and he attended, but John couldn’t make it. In fact, she has never met John Podesta.

“It was just a normal dinner,” Abramovic said, adding that about 10 people attended. “It was actually just a normal menu, which I call spirit cooking. There was no blood, no anything else. We just call things funny names, that’s all.”

  2. Does John Podesta believe in weird Pagan, Wiccan, Satanist stuff? Certainly not.

Is this weird and disgusting? Yes. Is it symptomatic of a broader phenomenon where liberals have weaker senses of disgust than conservatives (as Jonathan Haidt has identified)? Yes.

This doesn’t affect my vote, but it does make you ask, “What the hell is wrong with these people?” Liberals should be given disgust sensitivity training courses, the way chronically violent and angry people take anger management courses.

    • This notion of disgust reminds me of those personality tests that make so-called “liberals” look “good” because of their “openness to experience” aka being easily led.

Seriously, how many liberals feel any skepticism at hearing any baloney however implausible if offered by a person in authority? If some powerful so and so invites a bunch of his friends to some nasty show, “liberals” imagine it must have some rare quality because a bunch of rich people attend.

And they say conservatives believe BS.

  8. The original Otis Index was discontinued due to the obvious rigging of too many polls. But now I have come up with a new index now that the polls are no longer being rigged.

Currently, the Otis Index has Crooked Hillary up b 0.9 points. That is about what the latest Fox Poll has the race at. When you take into account the large number of undecideds and add in a possible slight “shy Trump” effect, my prediction of a 1 point Trump victory in the popular vote continues to look good.

Exit polls from early voting look horrible for Trump but who knows how reliable they are. The early voting figures are mixed an it is difficult to decipher their meaning. Guess we just have to wait and see.

    Otis the Sweaty

    • That is about what the latest Fox Poll has the race at.

Beware of Fox – Megyn Kelly is running the show over there after Ailes was toppled.

Don’t trust anything Fox says until Kelly is Lion’s obedient sex slave. Until that inevitable scandal she’s nothing but deception and trouble.

      November 4, 2016 at 8:26 pm

    • The early voting figures are mixed an it is difficult to decipher their meaning.

There’s no difficulty interpreting early votes. NC is Trump’s and Florida is net ~80,000 votes better for Trump than it was for Romney (who lost the state by ~75,000 in an excellent Democrat year) in 2012.

Trump has made up considerable ground in New Hampshire where he was losing and should now win it. The second district of Maine should swing with New Hampshire.

      The Undiscovered Jew

      November 4, 2016 at 8:30 pm

      • FL has me very confused. I read Steve Schale’s twitter and blog, and he is very happy with the trajectory for the Dems. In particular, he point to massive Latino turnout (low propensity Hispanic voters turning out big) and a much more diverse electorate than 2012. Also, in Duval county (which Bush won big), the Dems have a slim lead/are tied.

Now the RCP average of FL has Hillary ahead (that is not what I want to see). I don’t know who these weirdos are who are responding to polls at this stage.

But clearly, FL is going to be very, very close. There’s no doubt in my mind that Trump is outperforming Romney.

In fact, it’s time to state the obvious — Trump’s candidacy is giving the Dems a run for their money. F the tru-cons (we can’t even win Virginia with them on our side).

  9. Holy S–T Lion, this just gets sicker and sicker. John Podesta’s brother (the one who invited him to the Spiritcooking) literally has a bedroom devoted to PICTURES OF NAKED TEENAGERS.

    See this old WaPo article:

Our elites need to get the boot, and they need to get it ASAP.

    November 4, 2016 at 8:08 pm

    • If you don’t want to scour the entire article (though you should, it’s eye opening), here’s the relevant quote:

“Folks attending a house tour in the Lake Barcroft neighborhood in Falls Church earlier this year got an eyeful when they walked into a bedroom at the Podesta residence hung with multiple color pictures by Katy Grannan, a photographer known for documentary-style pictures of naked teenagers in their parents’ suburban homes.”

“‘They were horrified,’ Heather recalls, a grin spreading across her face.”

The Podestas literally have a bedroom devoted to child pornography.

This needs to get out and go wide.

    Magnavox

    November 4, 2016 at 11:00 pm

    • She invited them to a “Spirit Cooking Dinner”. Now it could have been a joke but I don’t know. Podesta does have child porn hanging on the walls in his bedroom and has some bizarre cannibalism thing on the wall in his office.

        map

        November 5, 2016 at 5:13 pm

      • What an informed person who knows anything about American elites would think is that it’s either a dinner directly related to the spirit cooking project (which is what Abramovic has since said) or a joke meant to connect having dinner with Abramovic to an art installation that she did related to cooking (which I think is what you said).

You have to be really uninformed about elite american culture to think it at all likely that they’re engaging in cannibalism and taking artistic expression about “spirit cooking” to be literal recipes.

  11. There’s a picture of John Podesta holding up his skinny chicken arms, palms facing the camera. On one palm is painted the pictogram of the fish which symbolizes Christianity, and on the other the numerals “14.” What’s the 14 mean? What does the combination mean?

    • Well, the head of IMF would say it’s 7 twice https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QYmViPTndxw but I think it has to do with “The Israelites killed the Paschal Lamb on the 14th day of the Month Nisan.”
Isn’t Podesta already on record as being agreeable to infiltrating the Church in order to wreck it?

The video I saw seemed to be an art show, if it was ritual it wasn’t very formal but clearly the whole thing was informed by Crowley/Blavatsky/etc ideas.

So apparently Podesta is known to open to this stuff, if he’s not a fellow traveler, if he doesn’t believe it, well what kind of a man indulges in this stuff outside his college years? And he, and his brother are top tier political players?

  12. Maybe that’s what makes her famous. The elites love “transgressive” art that allows them to think they are so much better than the proles who are disgusted by it. The more Satan, the better if that’s your goal.

    • Part of being an elite intelligent person is to recognize that it’s nonsense and has no supernatural effects whatssoever and to treat it purely as art. Also as far as I can tell noone was ever transgressive enough to ever actually eat anything really strange. Surely if the goal were just to be transgressive the video would show Marina Abramovic eating her blood rather than just writing recipes on a wall with it.

Am I the only one who’s noticed that Clinton seems to surround herself with weirdos, misfits, and various sorts who might fall into the category of “damaged goods.” None of these people are what I would call normal, mature, well adjusted adults. 16. a post from NeoGaf: “Polling is at about what, +6? Add on 2% ground game for +8. Plus undersampling of minorities +2 for +10. Plus shy Clinton voters in R areas (there’s weak evidence for this, but it is still evidence) +5 for +15, and shy not-trump voters ditto +3 (evidence Utah where Trump dropped 10 points as McMullin came in, adjusted to not overlap with shy-Hillary and to not double-count abstentions) for +18.

Not all of this will translate into downballot, but I reckon we’re looking at a +18-ish blowout in the Presidential and a +12-ish downticket. ”

    http://marina-abramovic.blogspot.ca/

Even as cutting and self harm are recognized as symptoms of mental disorder.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Self-harm

Apparently the Clinton Foundation donated $10,000 to the Marina Abramovic Institute.

And a lot of pretentious, so-called artists (including Abramovic) donated heavily to Clinton.
    http://theartnewspaper.com/news/artists-raise-millions-for-hillary-clinton/

Steven Pinker has an interesting take on modern art. He says it became popular after the means to cheaply reproduce art became available. Rich people had to find some way of displaying their superiority, and regular art wouldn’t do, since any prole could also possess it. So modern art became popular with the elites. Modern art is generally too strange and ugly to appeal to the masses. Art has to be ugly and/or strange to appeal to to elites–if it is not weird and ugly it considered prole. .

Pinker writes about it in his book “The Blank Slate: The Modern Denial of Human Nature. ”
