Lion of the Blogosphere

Congratulations Donald Trump, next President!

Early yesterday morning I wrote that if Trump wins Pennsylvania then we celebrate because Trump will be the next President.

Trump now has an insurmountable lead in Pennsylvania with 95% of the vote counted. I call Pennsylvania for Donald Trump, and call that Trump will be the next President of the United States.

  1. This is the best day of my life.

    November 9, 2016 at 12:49 am

    • I kind of agree! I’ve been a blackpill doom and gloomer since 2012, and now, I actually feel hope.

      November 9, 2016 at 1:24 am

      • Me too. I was ready to write this country off.

The leftists are going wild on Twitter! LOL! But they can do a lot of damage.

        What I’ve learned:

        1. The media are completely corrupt
        2. The popular culture is Satanic
        3. Have the courage of your convictions!

        November 9, 2016 at 1:53 am

  2. the outstanding few percent seem to be in democratic strongholds of philly and pitt

    November 9, 2016 at 12:50 am

  3. I am so proud of my beloved state of Pennsylvania. We are Trump country.

    November 9, 2016 at 12:50 am

    • Me too. I can hardly believe Pennsylvania went red, but it’s so nice to see.

      November 9, 2016 at 8:04 am

  4. I was wrong to predict a Trump defeat. I’m glad I was wrong. And it’s worth noting that even though it looks like he’s gonna lose popular vote he would have won it handily if the media were fair, his party didn’t stab him in the back, and he didn’t run such a shoe string campaign with an anemic ground game.

I still don’t think he’s going to be able to fix the country though but now is the time to celebrate.

    November 9, 2016 at 12:51 am

    • One of the reasons the parties are owned by a handful of insiders is because it takes time to build a ground game. You have to collect a lot of data and build networks. Therefore, whoever owns the “machinery” owns the party. They can select who wins and losers by granting or denying access to that machinery. It should be noted that Trump was spending $100K per week on data collection to build that machinery. So Trump isn’t going away. He’s going to challenge the asshat Koch brothers for control of the party. The battle for the presidency may be over. But the war for control of the party has just begun.

      November 9, 2016 at 1:48 am

      • “control of the party” – Yes. But being President surely helps.

This has been building for a while – remember Cantor?? Dave Brat??

Now there will be a tidal wave of restrictionist populism, going thru the Congress like an earthquake. This will include Democrats.

Lion – what about Obamacare? You and I are both on Medicaid. A lot of people got screwed by Obamacare but people like us benefited. I love Medicaid. I’m a healthy person and I pay nothing for health care. Will we get thrown off? I really don’t think so. I think that Pres. Trump’s first priority will be immigration, first going for the low-hanging fruit like goddamn sanctuary cities. But at some point O-care will have to be rehauled. What say you?

        November 9, 2016 at 8:15 am

      • I don’t know what Trump will do, or what Congress will do.

  5. Wait…it is bad luck to celebrate too soon. Still very close!

“Boast not of tomorrow, for thou knowest not what that day will bring.”

    November 9, 2016 at 12:52 am

  6. This is a great victory for us. We will end up losing the popular vote by 1 even with insane white turnout and weak black turnout. We need to build a huge voter suppression machine over the next 5 years to hold off Cory Booker.

The TruCon scum and cucked out suburban whites hurt us very badly. We need to find a way to bring more of them around for next time. Well, not the TruCons, but we do need at least some cucks.

    Otis the Sweaty

    November 9, 2016 at 12:55 am

    • Three cheers for Sweaty Otis! Otis alone among all of the commenters here, never lost the faith, never doubted. Thank you Lord Almighty for the proles!

      November 9, 2016 at 1:15 am

      • Otis frequently doubted. He kept saying “he might lose but even if he does we destroyed the Trucon vermin forever and that’s what matters.” It was Yakov who never doubted.

        November 9, 2016 at 5:47 am

      • He won the popular vote.

I was a doubter. But I won $ on Trump. I put some dough on him in Predict It when I thought he’d win. It went so low I kept my money there out of sheer inertia. Then I got cold feet when he was stuck at 254 and sold….should have held but I still made a few hundred bucks.

        Losing now on Scottish independence.

        November 9, 2016 at 8:18 am

      • Otis was right again – he did lose the pop. vote, by a hair.

But won big in OH. That gives his presidency complete legitimacy.

        Hail Trumpus Maximus!

        November 9, 2016 at 10:18 am

  7. I don’t feel too triumphant right now, to be honest. I’ve supported Donald Trump and still think that he needed to win, because he’s really the only hope. And not even him himself, but the possibilities that his victory would open up. I voted for him, supported him, and believe he needed to win.

But much of his policy is still bad. I fear that orthodox Republicans will exert growing influence over him and his Presidency will end up indistinguishable from a Bush, Rubio, etc. Presidency. What will he really do about trade, immigration? I increasingly suspect, probably not a lot. Orthodox Republicans will get in his ear about the worst kinds of deregulation. Someone will probably make a Social Security privatization scheme sound good to him. Trump has many great talents but thorough policy sophistication isn’t one of them. I could be wrong here.

Well, we’ll see. This has opened up space in the political scene and made the impossible seem possible, so who know what could come of this — and that was always the reason to vote Trump.

    November 9, 2016 at 12:55 am

    • Pretty much how I feel too. This is an interesting development, but it’s only the first step. Trump needs to prove that he can actually do something other than defer to the old Bush advisors.

      November 9, 2016 at 1:12 am

    • A Trump Presidency at least buys some time.

      Mike Street Station

      November 9, 2016 at 1:25 am

    • Don’t be absurd, he’ll build the wall or lose 2020 in a landslide.

      November 9, 2016 at 1:33 am

      • His last speech before the election: “Don’t worry about it, we’ll build the wall.”

        November 9, 2016 at 3:49 am

    • Fear not. Trump was spending 100K per week collecting data needed to build a political machine. This will free up politicians from their dependence on the asshat Koch brothers and allow them to pursue his agenda.

      November 9, 2016 at 1:52 am

    • @chairman,

      STOP THIS!

How many times during the campaign did we say, “Trump will go wobbly on immigration. He’ll go wobbly on trade.” And he became more and more radical. By the end of the campaign he was saying things that no one could believe.

The problem is that while he wins a convincing electoral victory, it was really only a few percentage points. The left is evil. They are not the sorts of people who say, ‘we lost an election. We’ll work harder for another time.’ No. They’ll riot, they obstruct, they’ll bitch, moan and whine and they have the media and culture on their side.

I hope that bitch Lena Dunham moves to Canada. They never do, do they?

      November 9, 2016 at 1:57 am

    • It’ll be interesting to see how many Republican congressmen and senators will now move in a nationalist/populist direction.

  8. USA! USA! USA!

Witches crying at Clinton HQ. Liberals utterly humiliated, including that bitch in the next cubicle at one of my old jobs, who almost got me fired when I argued with her about Elizabeth Warren. And Miley Cyrus must now choose between being airdropped into Sudan or living in a cage in the part of the White House where tour groups come through.

  9. Not every vote’s counted and the lawyers aren’t involved yet but, God, I hope you’re right, Lion.

I cared about one thing beyond all others this election: Trump’s promise to repeal Obamacare. If he follows through on that, and I think he will because he’s promised this more than once, I’m happy. Also, won’t it be great to not hear that shrill, screeching man-hating harpy’s voice for 4 to 8 years?! Oh gods yes.

    November 9, 2016 at 1:23 am

  10. Well, I’d predicted this morning that Trump was gonna win, but some made fun of me. How did I know? I felt Trump’s karma galvanizing the people. Also, all through the process I’d never wavered in my support. I know it was not supported with statistical research, but karma trumps the research and the mavens. Great day for America and the world! One if the happiest days in my life.

    November 9, 2016 at 1:39 am

  11. It looks like Trump will win the Electoral College vote but lose the popular vote. There is a national popular vote initiative that has been adopted by some state legislatures that would bind participating states’ electors to the outcome of the popular vote. Republicans need to fight this if they want to be able to win the presidency in the future.

    November 9, 2016 at 1:44 am

    • “It looks like Trump will win the Electoral College vote but lose the popular vote.”

I said that might happen a few times in comments during the last several months.

      Lion of the Blogosphere

      November 9, 2016 at 1:47 am

      • It won’t happen. He will win both the electoral and the popular.

        November 9, 2016 at 2:29 am

      • Uh oh, I was sure that Trump won the popular vote but he didn’t. HRC did. It was razor thin, but she won the popular vote.

This kind of sucks. I happen to hate the Electoral College. He won the election fair & square according to the rules but I think the rules are stupid, and if I were on the other side I’d be pissed. This is going to eat into his legitimacy.

There was a total meltdown last night on twitter by the anti-Trump forces. Otis: there was blood coming out of their whereevers. The trucons will come around. But not the crazies I read on twitter last night.

And what about the Romneyites and #nevertrumpers?

        November 9, 2016 at 8:24 am

    • This happened to Dubya in Y2K. And then came 9-11…and onslaught of proles (many guidos) in NYC were fleeced and roasted like sacrificial lamb.

      November 9, 2016 at 1:55 am

    • This kind of sucks. I happen to hate the Electoral College. He won the election fair & square

No no no. It’s better because it makes the pain of the liberal left haters that much worse.

They can wallow in feeling they should have won because they got the popular vote but they didn’t.

Trump’s team needs to focus long term on the fact that they got nearly a third of hispanic and asian and over a third of “other race”.

The black vote is useless, 8% Trump. F-em! Trump’s policies actually help them. Ingrate idiots.

Forget about turning the White liberals or blacks. Keep energizing the White moderate/conservatives and any Hispanic/Asian/others who want to join the Republican nationalist populist team.

And don’t let the media link the movement to the fringe white racist scumbags!!

      November 10, 2016 at 10:10 pm

      • “The black vote is useless, 8% Trump”

Actually, it’s not worthless at all.

Trump, getting slightly more support from blacks than Romney, and lower turnout because blacks didn’t like Hillary that much, or maybe they didn’t vote because they supported Trump but couldn’t bring themselves to vote Republican so they just stayed home, but that was key to Trump winning Pennsylvania. If the blacks in Philadelphia turned out for Hillary like they did for Obama, Trump might have lost Pennsylvania despite his appeal to prole whites.

  14. I was wrong, and more importantly could have got 4:1 on Trump here in the UK! I was basing my expectations on the first exit polls which were seeming to favour Hilary, but I guess they are not as accurate there in the US as here in the UK!

    Good luck America!

  15. I’m so happy! In the annals of American history, this is one for the good days. Lion, I want to thank you for all your election coverage. It served as an oasis of insight and hope in the desert of mainstream media bias. This is such a great moment. Lion, I love you. Tonight, most all of your readers are celebrating. Let’s party!
