Prediction: the mainstream media will soon discover Wikileaks

The Wikileaks release of John Podesta’s emails have been almost entirely ignored by the mainstream media because they were acting as an extension of HRC’s campaign, so they suppressed any news stories that were unfavorable to her.

But now that it no longer affects the outcome of any election, and after the mainstream media gets bored covering the aftermath of Trumps victory (I give it just a few days before that happens), they will discover a huge treasure trove of news stories in the Wikileaks emails, and they won’t be able to resist covering a big scandal.

In fact, many liberals may prefer the narrative that Hillary lost because she was a crook over the narrative that President-elect Trump has a mandate from the voters to restrict immigration. People will start remembering the polls from primary season which showed Bernie Sanders doing much better against any Republican challenger than HRC. If only HRC had let more honest people, like Sanders, compete for the nomination instead of using her corrupt power over the DNC establishment to take the nomination for herself, Trump would not be president.

Yes, now that HRC no longer has any power, everyone on the left may decide to throw her under the bus.

  1. i wonder if this means assange will get to come home to australia now. i hope trump shows his gratefulness and they cut a deal that assange wont attack his government in exchange for his release, if they havent already. it is despicable what they have done to him.

    • Formally, it’s actually Sweden that wants Assange extradited for two cases of regret rape. But we of course know they’re just the limpwristed cat’s paw of umm somebody else.

  2. “everyone on the left may decide to throw her under the bus.”

what happens to the clintons is the big question now.

    • I think Lion is right. Absent actual analysts being done yet it does appear that a motivated base beats a blase base.

Hillary essentially had the field cleared for her. There was no opposition – Lincoln Chafee and Bernie Sanders werent even in the same party. I think the takeaway from the Dems (once they recovered from a well timed hack) will to nearly fully align socialist.

    • It was interesting to see Clinton’s so brave speech on TV yesterday and muse on how many of those present will go to jail.

Let the current FBI investigations roll on for starters and Huma will presumably be clad in orange soon. The faptop will have its revenge. Also interesting to see how the Clinton Foundation will hold up. And while Comey curiously recommended not to indict, someone else (Chris Christie, AG?) may come to another conclusion.

  3. Sorry, it’s OT but I couldn’t post it on the stock market thread I wanted to, for some reason.

    • didn’t realize that I was able to post the Taleb tweet on the stock market thread.

Taleb was a tacit Trump supporter.

  5. Trump promised to have his Attorney General appointment a special prosecutor to put Hillary in jail for the email scandal and/or the Clinton Foundation scandal. Given what we currently know, it will be difficult to make a case, but that will not stop Trump from having a special prosecutor investigating the Clinton’s for his entire administration.

I hope Trump doesn’t do this. Given that the Republican head of the FBI said no prosecutor would bring a case against her, this would only be seen as a political prosecution. That will intensive the political divide and make governing more difficult. Campaigning is in part about getting your supporters excited about you and that promise got Trump supporters excited, but Trump now has to govern.

    • I suspect Trump waits awhile on the special prosecutor business until he sees the right opening.
Hillary is like Scar after being defeated by Simba. Trump can just back off for now and let the hyenas have their way with her. She’s outlived her use and many of her former allies just want to make a profit.

    • Hillary should be let off the hook, but other members of the Obama administration need to be prosecuted.

      November 9, 2016 at 7:54 pm

    • I genuinely think most of us on the left would like to see that happen.

What people don’t understand, is that Hilary destroyed the left by intimidating, rigging, cheating and mowing down all opponents on the way to the nomination. Warren was threatened to back off and of course, Sanders was ignored by her media pals and held down by corrupt insiders.

She is our equivalent of George Bush.

      • ‘Hilary destroyed the left by intimidating’

I’ve seen some commentary in the British press that if Trump had been running against Sanders then he would have lost. Is that the conventional view in America–that it was Clinton that lost it more than Trump winning it?

Of course, even if true then their decision to run with Hillary was their choice and still says something about who they are. They believed that the election was something that was in the bag, that the public could be cajoled, bullied and manipulated into electing whoever they wanted them to elect. So it’s not as if the Democrats were just unlucky.

    • Trump needs to emphasize the nearly forgotten concept: Rule of Law.

Letting Clinton go scot free with her ill-gotten fortunes to live out the rest of her life in pampered but-non-presidental comfort is an affront to the ideals of justice and government by law and not men.

      • I agree w/you about the rule of law, but that would mean many legal problems for the pay to play Clinton Foundation, home of the swamplike Clinton Global Initiative.

  6. Lion –

When you predicted Romney would win, I came back here after the election to note your error. So, let me say clearly and distinctly:

You were right. Your analysis was correct, you understood the situation well. Congratulations.

Not that you care what I think / say. But because I joked you after getting 2012 wrong, it’s only fair I come back to note your excellent prognostication here.

    November 9, 2016 at 7:35 pm

    • Same here: In 2012 I predicted a Romney defeat because a significant minority of Christians regard LDS a Satanic cult and wouldn’t vote for him. I was correct, the White Christian base didn’t show up, and I did any number of virtual sack dances here. And I am so glad that fraud Romney had his pussy handed to him by The Donald.

God bless President Trump, Pussy Grabber At Large, baby!

  8. I think the case could be made that Hillary’s lack of character DID lose her the election. The one Liberal couple I know didn’t vote for her. They voted Libertarian because they couldn’t stomach her misconduct and scandals.

    November 9, 2016 at 7:56 pm

  9. I hope Trump fully investigates the Clinton Crime Family Foundation, fully and ruthlessly investigates all those pay-to-legislate $250,000 bribes disguised as speaking fees. And I hope the stress of it literally kills illary, but if it doesn’t, I’d like to see Trump pardon her after proving beyond all doubt her corruption and treason.

God bless President Trump. For the first time in the 21st Century I’m proud to call myself an American.

    • I really don’t understand all this “let’s leave her alone” or “we CAN’T jail her” nonsense. Hillary has done tremendous damage to this country, she is responsible for untold death and misery in the Middle East, she is a treasonous whore. It’s time for the FBI and the Justice Department to put on their big boy pants and do their job for a change regarding her. I’m just a poor country prole and I can figure it out, seems like these hot shot Ivy League types could. She, and her husband, and her daughter should be in federal prison. It’s time for White America, particularly boomer types to start acting like this nation actually does mean something and is worth defending.

She’s also completely lacking in class and grace, her and that Kaine creep.

      • You’re absolutely right that she belongs in prison. However, Trump can expend political capital investigating & prosecuting Hillary. Or he can spend his political capital pushing his policies. Which would you rather have?

        November 9, 2016 at 11:04 pm

      • I suppose I would rather have Hillary in prison than the Affordable Care Act repealed.

        November 10, 2016 at 1:48 pm

      • What does that even mean “spend his political capital”, he has both houses, a stunning victory, the media aren’t going to suddenly treat him with any respect, nor will the democrats, he should go for the kill, and frankly with these very disturbing rumors floating about regarding children, he has a moral obligation to give them a thorough review. I’m certain the democrats will all be happy for the chance to prove they’re innocent of all charges and put these rumors to rest once and for all, I mean Bill Clinton went to pedo island all those times to discuss global warming with Epstein.

Trump was elected to be an agent of change, playing all nice and gentle like won’t win him any favors.

    November 9, 2016 at 9:19 pm

  11. Lion,

In the coming days the opposition to Trump will harden and become very radicalized, based on the popular vote. I hope you pay attention to this. Wikileaks will help in this matter because it will tarnish whatever legitimacy Hillary had. Better would be if the Southern District Court finds something to charge her with.

Michael Moore is crazy, but he says some smart things, and he is pointing out that if Bernie had been the nominee, he would have taken Michigan. Trump won MI by 13K votes.

I don’t think the left is tearing itself apart. Clinton, Inc. was never a part of the left. I think the left is consolidating power. But they need a better leader than Sanders, who was a nebbish. He should have torn her a new one over the damned emails. What happens when the left comes up with its Trump?

    November 10, 2016 at 8:56 am

    • “What happens when the left comes up with its Trump?”

It won’t happen because populism is anathema to leftists.
