Dear Trump transition team

with 57 comments

If anyone there reads my blog and wants to hire me, please send an email using the email address on the sidebar.

Unlike many of the people there who are already wealthy, I need a good salary to afford to live in DC, no low-paying positions please. Thank you.

  1. I wish they’d hire you and those of similar brainpower and views, though the chance is sadly remote

    • Why remote? Social media has upended the landscape, and anything seems in the cards. I’m hoping for a fine position for Heartiste, who did so much.

    • And I do believe that a handful of our favourite bloggers, installed into key positions of influence, could enjoy a multiplicative effect that would rejuvenate the West far beyond anything imaginable fairly recently.

  2. Are you ok with commuting or would you have to live in DC? Lots of people who work in DC commute quite a ways from the suburbs and exurbs.

    • I’d prefer to live in Dupont Circle.

      Lion of the Blogosphere

      November 24, 2016 at 9:10 am

      • Are you sure about that? I think Dupont Circle is supposed to be a gay neighborhood.

      • You will hate DC.

The restaurants are overpriced and overrated for those not used to living in New York let alone a lifelong New Yorker, there are very dangerous blacks wandering around aimlessly even in the “good” neighborhoods, the area itself is small, the weather is terrible in winter and summer, and the white people are the rudest nerds on the planet.

  5. Well, that certainly is one way to profit from your astute insights.
Unfortunately, you have to go begging for it.

This reminds me of the story of Sun Tzu and the “Art of War”. He has to go begging for a job also. He’s in the same predicament: “How can you be a great military strategist if you have no army to lead? Without a leader to advise and an army to lead, you will forever be known as an unemployed bullshitter.”

Taking a page out of his book, Lion, you need to put together your own leadership book. Calling it the “Art of Triumph”. In it, you could put together some of your best aphorisms on the major issues of the day. Such as:

Abortion: Take the moral high ground but won’t waste energy fighting and overturning it.
If dumb people want abortion, who are we to disagree?
    Abort early, abort often, winning!
Free Trade: Nothing is ever free. Someone has to pay and it’s not our workers.
The Wall: Build it. Glamorize it. Make it Great!
Infrastructure plan: Spend it. Make America Great Again. Absolutely Must Make America Greater than China!
Why is China building like crazy and have all the latest infrastructure projects?
We used to own the tallest building, the biggest dam, the longest bridge, the best sea port, the best airport… every single civil engineering marvel. Now, we just own a big hole on the ground and congested roads everywhere. We are a 3rd world nation and our cities look like one. Make our cities great again! Make it look futuristic!

    … more later …

  6. I hope you’ll get a position. The problem with the rich populist is that they pretend to take no salary, “drain the swamp”, and the will growth their fortune by billions … Unpaid public service is a vey bad news. I had rather have top public servant and government making 5 M a year ….
Good luck though Lion, you’ll be worth the money.

      • If there are no more paper resumes, then send a paper resume.

Send one directly to Steve Bannon. Explain why you would benefit the administration.

Tell him what you would do for him. Say you will do all the work, and he’ll get all the credit.

  8. I would also like a job in the immigration enforcement area. Which I will do for free, but on 3 conditions:

    1. No wearable cameras on my enforcement team
    2. Lots of bullets
    3. Flamethrower and hand grenades for the lads in case we run out of ammo.

  9. LotB would make an excellent economic or jobs advisor.

Unlike many of the people there who are already wealthy, I need a good salary to afford to live in DC, no low-paying positions please.

In 2001, I turned down an $85K per year job with the DC government. At that time, I was checking out apartments near Rock Creek and thought they were expensive at $1200/mo for an old, but decent 1 bedroom.

  10. I guess you changed your mind about working for Trump. That didn’t take long.

If Trump wants a boost to his popularity ratings, here are two easy things he could do in the first hundred days that wouldn’t cost him much in political capital, but would earn him four or five percent in the polls.

    1. Eliminate Daylight Savings Time. Everybody hates it, and it’s a stupid progressive attempt to engineer reality.
    2. Eliminate the penny. People care less about this one, but the support comes from an obvious lobby of mining interests, and it would be tangible every time someone got a handful of change.

  11. Pack your bags, run to Washington and go volunteer to work for free. Show them what you can do and they may put you on payroll later. Or go meet Kushner and see if he can give you a chance. Run, don’t waste any time. Do it right now.

  12. old article from the brilliant Steve Sailer about the demographics of the electorate going forward:

    http://www.vdare.com/articles/even-if-immigration-continues-the-sailer-strategy-could-still-win-it-for-the-gop-in-2050

Our demographics are not nearly as bad as the alarmist claim. We need to destroy the immigrant community, and time is not on our side, but the situation is not as desperate as some think.

    Otis the Sweaty

    November 24, 2016 at 8:06 am

    • Demographics mean nothing.

20% of the country is latino. Latinos are probably at best 10% of the electorate and they all tilt in already heavily blue states. Same with blacks and gays. They don’t really care about politics unless Magic Negro is running.

People banging on about reaching out to illegals and latinos don’t want to win elections. They want to legalise open borders.

That is the way Master and his team of propagandists sell things like privatizing social security to ‘increase consumer choice’ and deregulate wall street derivatives trading and prop investing to ‘make the banks lend more’.

This stuff works with low IQ people. Its important high IQ people, who don’t have an oar in that swamp to call it out in plain english.

Of course the strategy doesn’t even work on its own terms….why would latinos not just keep voting dem?

      • Another thing: ID voting, E-verify, The Wall, Deportation and breaking PC embargo on racial crime rates etc will drive up GOP share prob another 5-6% in pop vote.

Ummm Texas, Florida, and Arizona (only 78 electoral college votes). Colorado and Nevada until they actually turned and went democratic.

  15. What does everyone thing about the liberal push to impeach Trump over his business dealings? I’m seeing a lot of this from SJWs on social media. They claim he’s using, or gearing up to use, his influence as President to take bribes from foreign leaders, create favorable deals to get his hotels built in foreign countries, etc. They seem to really think they can take him down over this.

    • You do realize how stupid it looks to ignore and discount all of the positive economic indicators of the tail end of the Obama presidency and then start trumpeting them the day after the election?

I understand some people predicted an immediate collapse and they are wrong. But I would rather the stock market be tanking because it would mean that investors are predicting the redistribution of income away from capital and to labor that I hope Trump brings about.

  20. Just in case it was my comment that prompted this, please consider your own personal situation before throwing everything away to take an admin job. It was meant as a general suggestion to anyone who is in position to actually do something to help the administration–say you’re a web developer who’s interested in getting into the backroom side of politics, for example. There’s going to be a lot of chaos and change and there’s no telling how things will wind up, so it was more to any younger readers willing to take a few risks.

You’ve done a lot of good work and your blog helped get me through a very stressful job period ages ago, so I’d hate to do anything bad on my account.

  24. I was wondering if this post was intended to be merely funny. But it seems you meant it seriously.

No offense, because everyone knows here that I am Lion’s only female groupie, but I think this self-advertising for a job in the Trump administration is beneath the dignity of the Lion. If some people in the new administration read this website (and they very well may) they already know about our host’s many talents. Let Trump’s employees come “knocking on Lion’s door” (so to speak) if Trump is interested in a hire. Personally, I think Trump’s gain will be our loss. I’d rather see Lion stay in blogging. But naturally, if he wishes for such a job, I hope he gets it.

    • I don’t seriously expect to hear anything as a result of the post, and I did not seriously expect to hear anything if I didn’t post anything. I think that jobs go to people that the many people already on the transition team know. But it’s possible that some of them do read this blog, in which case it doesn’t hurt to put the idea into their head.
