WikiLeaks vs. the Comey letter; thank you Anthony Weiner

When WikiLeaks announced that they had emails from John Podesta and they were releasing them to the public, being a Trump supporter I was overjoyed. I hoped that finally there would be some news coverage that would make HRC look bad and push Trump ahead in the polls.

But much to my dismay, the contents of the Podesta emails were completely ignored by the mainstream media. When they did cover the story, which got a lot less coverage than the tape of Trump’s locker-room talk with Billy Bush, the emphasis was on the outrage that Russians hacked into Podesta’s emails, and that Trump is a Russian stooge. It’s possible that the Podesta emails actually were a gift to HRC because they gave her campaign and the MSM (which was acting as her propaganda wing) yet another avenue with which to attack Trump.

The Comey letter was different. The mainstream media covered it. Instead of 24/7 coverage about how Trump is a racist, authoritarian, misogynist harasser of women who’s a stooge of Putin and the Russians, they were actually covering something which made HRC look bad. They (HRC and her allied MSM propagandists) tried to do a deflection like they did with the Podesta emails, that it’s outrageous that Comey was interfering with the election and that Comey is a really really bad person and you should vote for HRC just to spite him or because it shows how evil Trump is, or something like that, but Comey simply wasn’t as effective a fall guy as Putin, because Comey is an American, who was appointed to his job by Obama, and who up until that point was praised by Democrats for his wisdom in not finding a reason to prosecute anyone in connection with HRC’s email server.

The unanswered question, however, is why did the MSM give a significant amount of coverage to the Comey letter? Why didn’t they just ignore it and bury it like they they did with WikiLeaks and Podesta’s emails?

I think the answer is because it was related to Anthony Weiner sending pictures of his penis to a fifteen-year-old girl. That made the story too salacious to ignore. If the letter had been in reference to emails which came from any other more normal and boring source, it would have been ignored just like WikiLeaks.

So thank you Anthony Weiner for saving for saving us from HRC.

  1. The pure gonzo insanity of a guy named Weiner being a degenerate texter of his own wiener, and in so doing inadvertently saving Western Civilization from cultural Marxism is truly one of the most epic stories in the political history of mankind. What a time to be alive!

It’s too bad reality will intrude in our fairyland come Jan 21. However, if Trump even reclaims some land around the edges of the swamp he will have accomplished more than any other president in history.

    • ….and in so doing inadvertently saving Western Civilization from cultural Marxism

If I believed prayer mattered I would pray that the idiot who first came up with the “cultural marxism” explanation for everything would die a horrible painful and public death.

“Cultural marxism” doesn’t exist and has never existed except in the imagination of goofy White guys who are trying to sound, dare I say, intellectual.

Hilary Clinton and her donors are rabid Cultural Capitalists. That’s what globalism is. Turn everything and everybody into a commodity and a market and gather as much wealth and profit for your corporation and friends as possible. And make sure no nation, no people get in the way.

It has nothing to do with marxism, cultural or otherwise.

      • If you don’t like the term, then this is purely a question of semantics. However, your assertion that the world’s center-left political parties, politicians, and bureaucrats have “nothing to do with Marxism” is actually absurd. Where do you think the FDR Democrats, or the UK Labour Party, or any of the rest of the world’s center-left parties got their entire political philosophy from? The question of why global capital has of late been giving its support to the center-left establishment is an interesting but totally separate discussion.

      • Nah, you’re messed up here. Bill and Hillary started out as people devoted to punishing whites for their refusal to see blacks as equals. That’s the Alinsky program, that’s CM. But it’s like the stages of feminism: now that blacks are liberated from all middle-class white norms, it’s on to becoming obscenely rich. That they’re now into this new stage of personal aggrandizement doesn’t mean CM wasn’t the animating force.

      • Cultural marxism is related to marxism in that people attracted to marxist political and economic views tend to share certain social views as well.

I don’t use the term because it’s vague, confusing and poorly defined. Some use it as a catch-all for policies pushed by the radical left i.e. feminism, promiscuity, drugs, multiculturalism, political correctness, etc. Others view it more along the lines of critical theory used by the Frankfurt School to undermine family, religion, culture, traditions, values, etc.

      • Cultural Marxism is a key tenet of communism i.e. we are all equal – man, woman, black, white, minority, etc in the fight against capital. This is why the earliest tracing of it lie not in Frankfurt, but Trotsky’s writings.

This is why the USSR had one of the most progressive social programmes towards women, jews, gypsies and so on (but not kulaks and the white elite).

        Stop. Listen.

If you believe in communism, it necessarily entails you believe man is fundamentally equal and worthy of an equal share in the mode of production. You cannot have communism with CM.

But at the same time, you cannot have CM without communism. Because it necessarily entails you are depriving an equally able and gifted brother of a share. This has been used to point at whites as having taken more than their ‘fair share’ as you can see.

        Stop. Listen.

But while the economic programme of Marxism died, the social aspect lives on in its Frankenstein form. In the lecture halls of Frankfurt the creature we now call ‘rac-ism’ was born, and a thousand demons were unleashed on the world of the Western man.

        December 17, 2016 at 7:16 pm

      • Nonsense like that makes me doubt you were ever a libertarian. Turning everything into a commodity is NOT the basis of libertarianism. The basis of libertarianism is personal and economic freedom. Now, people can easily see where freedom lends itself to both the personal and economic views of libertarians. But it gets a little muddy when one look at other ideologies because they’re not as consistent. But those other ideologies have corresponding personal and economic positions as well. Cultural marxism is the set personal views that correspond to the liberal ideology. I agree with The Philosopher’s explanation of the relationship.

        December 17, 2016 at 9:45 pm

      • The basis of Marxism is hatred of the middle classes…the bourgeoisie. I think this has to do with Karl Marx’s background. He married a German noblewoman with title but no money and his poverty caused the death of two of his six children. His work encompasses the destruction of the upstarts, the “strivers” that upend the system of a small, landed aristocracy. Basically, Karl Marx was a large supporter of the Downton Abbey set and hated the new entrepreneurs and merchant classes that emerged from the industrial revolution.

Cultural Marxism simply moves the attack away from the economic sphere to the cultural sphere, where the normal practices of middle class people come under attack, like their marriages, how they raise children, how they worship, etc.

There is a very similar strain of thought in Charles Dickens’ work.

  2. In other words, everything comes down to identity politics and Anthony Weiner triggered the MSM mainly because of sexism.
Don’t forget that Putin and Russia became rogue nations because of the gay propaganda ban and their stubborn refusal to accept gay marriage. This happened before the now forgotten Ukraine conflict.

btw. James R. Fouts, the mayor of Warren, Michigan, is currently under attack for secretly recorded eugenicist crimethink. He appears to have preferred Bernie over Hillary.

    Anthony Weiner or Matt Drudge?

If the re-opening of the case had come from anywhere else, it would not have gotten the coverage it did, and the NY Post wouldn’t have had it on their front page. The fact that Weiner was involved got the event all over Twitter and Facebook, and let’s face it, it was hysterical. The Weiner investigation dovetailing with the Hillary emails was epic.

  5. Not exactly what this post was about but I’m astounded anyone would think Russia hacked the DNC to help Trump. For the sake of argument, let’s suppose Russia really did hack the DNC. Why would they be trying to help Trump when pollsters were saying he had no chance of winning? Even the DNC pollsters were predicting ridiculously high percentages for a Hillary win. Common sense suggests that if Russia hacked the DNC it was because they expected Hillary to win and were trying to undermine the future president.

  6. I think the explanation here is much simpler. There was nothing interesting in Podesta emails. The MSM covered it, but quickly moved on because they could not find anything interesting in the released emails.

The Comey letter was different. It hinted there could be something significant in the newly found emails, but didn’t say what. Why did Comey write the letter if he didn’t think these new emails were important? This allowed the MSM to endlessly speculate about the emails. Of course the emails contained nothing interesting, but it was not until days before the election that was revealed.

So much of the material involved the press scheming with the Clinton campaign. Of course, there was a lot of interesting stuff about the Clinton Foundation which they didn’t report on either.

      • 1. Revealed the DNC rigged debates, advertising, endorsements and resources for Hilary over Bernie.

Hilary is a life long Democrat who has severed as US Senator from NY. Bernie has never been a member of the Democratic party. Even now, after running for President in the Democratic primary, he is still not a member of the Democratic party.

Why is anyone surprised that the DNC favored Hilary over Bernie? It was perfect obvious to anyone all along that the DNC favored Hilary over Bernie.

        2. Revealed most MSM journalists send their articles to the Clinton campaign to be vetted.

Not true. There may have been a few examples of this, but hardly most.

        3. Revealed ISIS is funded by Saudi Barbaria.

It has been widely known since at least 2002 that much of the support for radical Sunni groups like al Qaeda and ISIS comes from Saudi Arabia. ISIS and al Qaeda want to overthrow the Saudi King so it is not the Saudi rulers that support these groups. The Bush administration chose not to make a big issue of this because Saudi Arabia is a big oil exporter and they did not want to destabilize Saudi Arabia. The Obama administration has generally followed similar policy.

It is well understood that there is significant popular support for ISIS in Saudi Arabia. The fear is that if the King were to crack down too hard on that support, it would result in the overthrow of the Saudi royal family and a Wahhabist government that would openly support ISIS.

All of this has been widely known and talked about since 2002. Nothing new was revealed in the emails.

        4. Revealed a paedophile ring in the DNC hierarchy.

No. This was a crazy fantasy made up by Hilary haters and it has been thoroughly debunked.

        5. Revealed Hilary is a very physically sick person according to Huma’s emails.

Hillary is 69. She undoubtedly has some health issues, but she seems to be spending a lot of time since she lost taking long walks, hardly what a extremely sick person does.

      • Why is anyone surprised that the DNC favored Hilary over Bernie?

Debbie Waserman Schultz resigned. I guess plenty were surprised, and angry.

Not true. There may have been a few examples of this, but hardly most.

I would say anyone at politico, nyt, huffpo, msnbc, cnn, atlantic and slate of any worth was.

It is well understood that there is significant popular support for ISIS in Saudi Arabia. The fear is that if the King were to crack down too hard on that support, it would result in the overthrow of the Saudi royal family and a Wahhabist government that would openly support ISIS.

Saudi arabia is a totalitarian dictatorship where the royal family own>x5000 more in wealth than its average citizen. If it wanted it could stop it tomorrow.

        it has been thoroughly debunked.

No it hasn’t. The NYT can’t debunk the fact that its a propaganda rag, nevermind anything related to the establishment.

Hillary is 69. She undoubtedly has some health issues

She has Parkinsons. Thats why she spent 200 days without a presser and did about 20 rallys the whole campaign season to small crowds. She’s on levodopa causing the seizures and crossed index/ring finger cross to hide it. Look at the videos online. She has a black nurse/bodyguard near her to provide support at all times. She sleeps 24 hours some days.

The FBI *would* have gotten to the bottom of the nefarious Russian hacking except all the staff was sent on this wild goose chase by Comey? 100,000 yoga emails!- obviously thats going to take a lot of man power to get through so fast- all agents to the pumps!

Anyway I agree with the Lion analysis except that the important difference in the Comey letter to Congress was that for once Trump didnt go rogue and start making headlines of his own. Someone told him to keep the story on Hillary and the emails, probably Alies, and for once he curbed his worst riffing impulses. HotAir had a run down off all the ways Team Hillary kept chumming him with bait in the subsequent week and for once he wasnt distracted.

He even gave a speech where he riffered that he was staying on task.

Did the Democrats have a female or black candidate as famous as Clinton, or one who had a record of real accomplishment? Maybe many Democrats aren’t complaining Clinton was a weak candidate because she was the best candidate they could find. Reid, Pelosi and Biden all have one foot in the grave and all are white and have their own records of saying stupid shit.

And she inherited control of the Democratic party from her husband.

Though Obama defeated her in the 2008 primary she still retained enough power that the DNC could be considered Clinton property “loaned” out to Obama while she positioned herself for 2016. Aware of this, Obama, who dislikes the Clintons as much they dislike him, gave her the SoS position to keep the Clinton faction inside his tent where he could keep an eye on them. What Clinton got out of the Secretary of State role had more to do about her keeping one hand on the steering wheel of the Democratic machinery and remaining in the public spotlight as she waited out Obama’s term than it was due to any serious interest in foreign policy on her part.
