Lion of the Blogosphere

Hey Violet – This is Why

I like this music video a lot.

Thank you Otis the Sweaty for bringing this girl punk rock group to my attention. Unfortunately, a handful of music videos on YouTube is the extent of their repertoire.

  1. Is this punk? I don’t think it is, it seems more power pop

  2. Crap, reading Lion’s blog has infected me with liking this stuff.

    December 28, 2016 at 7:48 PM

  3. That’s terrible.

    • You need to open your mind.

      Lion of the Blogosphere

      December 28, 2016 at 8:52 PM

    • i opened my mind and it’s still terrible. and i didn’t listen to it. much more entertaining is the International Mr Leather 1987 on youtube. i couldn’t stop laughing. this and the above video have something in common. people taking seriously what is not serious. it’s all just bourgeois decadence and weapons of mass distraction.

      Vancouver! Vancouver! This is it!

      December 28, 2016 at 10:21 PM

      • Yea, I listen to punk rock and I thought that was terrible. only a bunch of nerds would take it seriously.

        December 31, 2016 at 12:40 PM

      • Well there you go, nerdiness is a very white phenomenon. Where do you ever see any black nerds except on fictional TV shows?

        Lion of the Blogosphere

        December 31, 2016 at 12:44 PM

      • All real punk rock fans know this sucks. And they’re also mostly white (with me being an exception).

        December 31, 2016 at 12:50 PM

    • ok i listened to it…until i knew for certain it was even more terrible than i expected.

so much energy wasted on the sex drive, a drive which none choose yet almost all take as if they had, a master of men and women neither can distinguish from themselves….especially women.

i strongly encourage you to take up drinking in earnest lion, and do some beer, wine, or liquor reviews. that’s entertainment!

      Vancouver! Vancouver! This is it!

      December 28, 2016 at 10:27 PM

      • “A master of men and women neither can distinguish from themselves . . .”

        Do not understand this.

        December 29, 2016 at 4:26 PM

      • the sex-drive is a master, it tells men and women what to do. at least in my experience it’s the most unforgiving master there is. wait…sleep is even worse. but apart from sleep…

the sex-drive is not seen as a master by men and women. they identify with it. they follow its orders as if they themselves had given them.

it’s “super-added” to human…what it is to be human.

with iv and ai…there’s no excuse for sex anymore.

of course it’s a little “schizo” to admit that one has motivations and desires which he would rather not have…which he would rather jettison.

it is what it is…the human is part animal part angel.

        Vancouver! Vancouver! This is it!

        December 29, 2016 at 10:29 PM

      • “it’s “super-added” to human…what it is to be human.”

Umm, no. Sex drive is a fundamental part of being human. It’s wired into our DNA.

        Deal with it!

        December 29, 2016 at 11:22 PM

      • women’s power is sex.

        that’s it! they’re im-potent otherwise…just the teeny weeny.

        that’s nice.

        imagine hamlet saying…

To shit or not to shit.
        That is the question.

to see things as they really are…my God!…women have no purchase…so to say….they’re whole being is that men want them…or don’t…

        i pity women!

        my liver hurts! seriously!

let’s get some bill walton up in here! seriously!

        Vancouver! Vancouver! This is it!

      • please explain how my comment can be responded to…

        before it was posted.

“Deal with it!” quotes my above comment…yet her comment was posted before mine.

        how is this possible?

        Vancouver! Vancouver! This is it!

      • Vancouver just wants a girlfriend who will let him paint her nails.

I see through you and it’s adorable.

        Deal with it!

  4. post the other video. This song has a way different sound than the one I posted and I really don’t like it.

      • never heard of it. What is it?

  6. Hey Lion, you should do a write-up of Stephen Miller, Trump’s advisor and speech writer. He’s like the anti-Wiener. 31 year old Jew from very liberal Santa Monica. Has been fighting leftism since high-school and was prominent at Duke in defense of Lacrosse players and knew Richard Spencer.

MSM paint him (at least obliquely) as a self-hating Jew in the vain of Ryan Goslings Jewish ANP member in “The Believer.” But remember, the MSM paints anyone with a non-left viewpoint as racist to begin with.

There’s got to be a real story behind Miller. He’s secular and he looks very Jewish, but he’s been fighting for the Right. In LA, all secular/professional Jews are big libs and if you want more conservative politics you gotta gotta be ortho. So Miller has bucked the trend and it can’t have been easy. I believe he’s simply a smart guy who saw the country around him and believes what he says AND he’s a canny operator and manipulator the media.

  7. Either the guitarist is near the top of the high score table of Lesbians or is actually a boy. And blondie on the left is dressed like the girl who’s president of the national honor society at my daughters high school. So does this band merit the title “girl-punk”? I hear Sleater-Kinney harrumphing.

  8. The girls smile; feminists would not approve. Smiling suggests an unhealthy internalization of bourgeoise values and norms. Real women frown.

The drummer is the cute one. Very unusual.

The guy seems to be a major league beta. I bet he hasn’t touched a single one of them though he no doubt dreams about them each and every night.

    December 29, 2016 at 4:15 AM

    • He’s in a band that has a lot of girl fans, so even if his bandmates aren’t interested in him that way, there are the fans.

      Lion of the Blogosphere

      December 29, 2016 at 9:13 AM

      • If you’re serious about the band, you don’t mess with your opposite-sex bandmates. That’s a recipe for disaster. As Lion noted, there’s plenty of fan poontang to be had without fucking up the intra-band dynamic.

  9. That guys my age song is a big hit. It’s getting some play on FM radio across the country.

  10. Interesting lack of tats for a “punk” band. Could it be that the long scourge of tattooing is beginning to fade?

  12. Lion, were you not flabbergasted that your post on the ’87 global warming study drew only 6 responses? This strikes me as the most surprising thing I’ve ever seen on this blog.

  13. They toured with Lostprophets! (a band fronted by an actual, genuine paedophile)

    December 29, 2016 at 4:25 PM

  14. Punk rock always takes me back to my teens. The difference is that I can’t stand the stuff nowadays.

    Deal with it!

    December 29, 2016 at 4:42 PM

    • NYC guys should like this classic “I love living in the City” by 80s punks FEAR. Lyrics could have been written by JS.

      This, btw, is real punk.

      December 29, 2016 at 5:32 PM

  15. Very derivative. No ground here already covered by the LA Runaways (as far back as the late 70s!), the Bangles, the Go-Gos . . .

    December 30, 2016 at 12:19 AM

  16. They sound like Paramore.

    December 30, 2016 at 1:53 AM

  17. Lion, listen to some real punk:

    December 31, 2016 at 12:42 PM

    • Yes. This is real punk music.
