In an editorial, The New York Times (of all places) agrees with you about judge Robart’s temporary restraining order. Odds are it will be overturned on appeal.

    • And why is my beloved Spain at the lowest percentage points on agreeing with the Muslim ban? It’s only at 41%.

I’m still baffled at the idea that Franciso Franco used Muslim mercenaries to crush and defeat his liberal enemies during the Spanish Civil War.

Northern European countries are failed nations and Anglosphere domains are deranged cesspits.

Poland has virtually no Muslims and it’s up there with France. Prolier nations are generally more xenophobic when there is no calling for it.

  3. NYT breaks down how demographics voted in the election: https://www.nytimes.com/2016/12/23/upshot/how-the-obama-coalition-crumbled-leaving-an-opening-for-trump.html

Trump apparently did *worse* amongst whites overall than Romney. He won them by a bigger margin than Romney did over Obama but he only netted 56% of the white vote, as opposed to the 58% of the white vote that Romney got.

For Trump to win in 2020 he needs to win 61% of the white vote. He can get 2 points just from Romney voters who went 3rd party but then he has to flip 3 points worth of Hillary’s white votes.

Honestly, it might be easier to just rig the election.

    • Also, imagine how many white Trump voters will simply die between now and 2020.

“Honestly, it might be easier to just rig the election.” Maybe they’re working on voter ID laws etc.

Trump’s margins in the rust belt states (notwithstanding OH) were pretty slim. I could see those flipping back to blue based on any number of intractable factors.

The Dems will likely attempt to re-invigorate the black vote with a VP pick (maybe Booker?). Sort of nauseating that we’re thinking about 2020 now.

For the record the term “well-educated voters” (used frequently in Nate Cohn’s article) is propaganda designed to stigmatize people without a degree who work with their hands. I know plenty of dopes with lots of college debt and a silly B.A. in liberal arts who are wasting their lives in a cubicle.

      • College Educated is just a description, there is nothing insidious about it.

“Also, imagine how many white Trump voters will simply die between now and 2020.”

How many Romney voters died between 2012 and 2016? The white vote is the white vote. Win 61% and we’re fine.

“Trump’s margins in the rust belt states (notwithstanding OH) were pretty slim.”

Because of #NeverTrump, which has been exterminated. 61% of white vote gives Trump a victory in the popular vote which means comfortable wins in MI, WI, PA and FL.

“The Dems will likely attempt to re-invigorate the black vote with a VP pick (maybe Booker?). ”

The 61% number is based on the assumption that blacks turn out at Obama levels.

    • @ Otis

I think the most effective solution for demographics problems in the US is to re-classify US citizens as 2nd class citizens when all 8 of their great grandparents were not at least 2nd class.

Extend voting rights, federal employment, benefits, and grants of any kind, only to 1st class citizens. This would exclude those who’ve not contributed adequately to the public good, and provide an incentive to marry into the host population.

Perhaps a basic income could be given to 1st class citizens, as well.

We need to shoot for something like this, as soon as possible. It would mean some of us LotB commenters being 2nd class… but it’s worth it b/c the resulting 1st class would be a trustworthy and deserving electorate, and we wouldn’t have to worry about the foreign horde destroying our gov’t and way of life.

      • Our demographic situation is not nearly so dire as people make out. Current births are about 50% white. Sounds bad, right? Well the current state of Texas is already majority minority and Texas will not be going blue in our lifetimes.

Hispanics and Asians are both undergoing ethnic attrition to whites and neither group is as bloc Dem as blacks and Muslims are. Within the next 20 years we should be able to shut down non-white immigration and then it is only a matter of importing another 50 million whites over the following 30 years to give us some more demographic breathing room. Voter suppression and gerrymandering can take care of the rest.

Remember, even with no changes to immigration, we will be able to win the popular vote in 2048 by carrying a mere 70% of the white vote.

        Otis the Sweaty

        February 8, 2017 at 12:27 pm

      • @ Otis

Gerrymandering and stricter enforcement of voting laws both sound promising, and it’s nice to think that Asian and Hispanic immigrants might be marrying into white families, if that’s what you mean. I have no problem with the racial makeup of the citizenry changing somewhat… but only if it’s through gradual inter-marriage, allowing for a continuous racial and cultural identity for the majority.

H/e given the self-destructive impulses of most white Americans, a multicultural and socially fractured future is what awaits us, if political action is not taken to avert it. SWPL2’s account down-thread gives anecdotal evidence of how little common sense many Americans have.

I don’t think we can hope to get white voting numbers like 60% with anti-immigration measures in the platform. I think the electorate needs to be reduced to core Americans only… maybe not all at once, but soon.

        (1) stronger, national voter ID laws
        (2) end of birth-right citizenship

Those are essential, and might be enough. Yet I think it’s worth considering a rules-based method of disenfranchisement, whether by selecting on lineage, prior military service, etc. It may be absolutely essential, with the 3rd world population set to continue climbing for the next hundred years.

47 million whites are not registered. I always wonder who these people are. They can’t all be semi-literate meth heads.

If we get 2M rural whites registered, Republicans keep winning. By razor thin margins, but a win is a win.

Thing is, the Dems are smarter about this than the Republicans. David Axelrod knows damn well that voter suppression suppresses rural white Republicans more than it does urban blacks, who are politically savvy. So he and his crew will continue to sign up unregistered Democrats (35M of them)….

But perhaps the Steves know this & will change things. I have my doubts, but maybe.

  4. The entire ban is played out on the fears of dumb proles by Trump.

Do we have any evidence that certain individuals from these countries have made attempts to commit terrorist acts against us?

You could have White Americans falling in love with the dark side of Islam and acting upon it, and then what?

    • The ban ends Somali immigration immediately. The Somali refugee scam is a huge problem in white Northern States won by Trump and he specifically promised to end the Somali scourge while on the campaign trail. People are not supporting Trump’s ban because of terrorism. They support it because of very real fears about crime and quality of life. “Terrorism” is just the most PC way of framing such fears in our society.

And though quality of life is what is driving the support, lets not discount the terror component as if it is not a legitimate concern. Everyone has seen what has happened to France. If the Muslim population of America ever reached those level (and they will if we continue on the path we’ve been going) then we too will suffer French levels of terrorism.

Correct. Even when they’re not terrorists, Mohammedans are far more likely to sympathize with such actions. And, more importantly, leaving terrorism out of the equation, Mohammedans are the most problematic of all immigrants. They simply don’t belong in Western countries.

  7. Last night I chatted with the wife of a good friend of mine. Both she and her husband are vehemently anti-Trump. She has spent a few evenings at the local airport “welcoming refugees”.

I guess she expected me to congratulate her I but I said nothing.

What can Trump supporters do? Many lefties are so far gone that nothing will convince them.

Perhaps it’s simply the nature of the company I keep but everyone seems on board with “the resistance”. I’ve hidden so many friends on Facebook that my feed is now comprised of vague acquaintances and friends of friends. The only real consolation is the realization that the anti-Trump left is having a certifiable (very public) emotional meltdown. The few Trump supporters I know are simply keeping a low profile and going on with their lives (while cheering in private).

    • My family are a bunch of libtards. I don’t bother arguing with them because they are insane. When I do argue I unapologetically say that they support immigration because they want to turn whites into a minority and that when the civil war comes we will destroy them because we are more cohesive, better armed, much tougher and have the support of the military and law enforcement. In my experience that shuts them up but your mileage may vary.

The Left are indeed melting down. They also have achieved new levels of delusion: they actually think they are winning. I don’t see them snapping out of it anytime soon either: in 2018 they will blame poor turnout and a bad map for their losses in the midterms and in 2020 they will take solace in holding Trump to a narrow win.

      • I am imagining the level of frustration + the number of beers it would take for me to start warning my friends about their impending loss in Civil War Part II. I just conjured up a mental image of the dinner party I would ruin and the dirty looks from my wife. For now I have the self-control to avoid such a confrontation but I’m only human.

“They also have achieved new levels of delusion: they actually think they are winning.” This is a reassuring thought, thanks.

Although, in terms of the educational system, they have a very firm hold. I am currently shopping around for a private school for my own child. After meeting prospective teachers and staff, I took the time to look them up on Facebook. I saw endless anti-Trump posts and links to social justice warrior causes. Not exactly surprising but still dismaying. You know your child will be indoctrinated early on — and you want them to acquire the ability to speak in those terms whenever necessary — but you also hope to raise someone who thinks for themselves. I guess it takes tact as well as leading by example.

      • Seriously, SWPL2 why don’t you do what peterike suggested?

The great thing about Trump, or maybe it’s just the times, is that we can now be rude and ask the questions which in the past we could not.

Example. A few years ago, I was presented with the then novel two-mommies and a baby family unit. I was dreadfully curious as to which woman was the birth mom. I really had to convince myself to ask. I finally did, but it was a struggle. I should say that I’ve read on websites that there is a “new etiquette” about such families. You are NOT supposed to ask this….well, I did.

Now, I would not hesitate. Fck their etiquette – it’s censorship. Emotional blackmail. They know that they are unnatural, and they depend on your -our – niceness to keep on with the bullshit. So don’t cooperate. Ask the questions.

If it were a gay male couple, I’d ask how much they paid their surrogate, whether or not the baby will have a relationship with his mother, and what he’s gonna tell the kid when the kid asks, “Who’s my mommy?”

Ask away, stop being polite. You could also ask the lady how she would feel if her husband threw acid in her face for being lippy.

  8. Many Americans like where they live and resist change. We’ve all heard of towns trying to keep out strip clubs or Walmart. It is just as reasonable to want to keep out Somalis or Muslims or whoever.

And let’s not ignore the very real problem of crime and terrorism. The experience in England, France and Germany shows such problems are very real, and right in the middle of Ohio there have been Somalis who have tried to carve people up and run them over.

  9. Although HBD is the main reason I oppose immigration from all countries except white ones and N.E.Asian ones, I have started bringing up “low trust cultures” as another reason. When you bring low trust culture peoples into a high trust culture, it is like letting a fox into a hen house and if it happens enough you destroy the high trust nature of the receiving culture. And developing a high trust cultures takes hundreds of years for one to “evolve”. This is something Leftists and Liberals should relate to since they believe so much in moral evolution of people.

    • Nah, give it to them good & hard: immigrants come here to work . . . . the system. They are a huge net drain on the wallets of working Americans. They are happy to live in squalor, happy to live in the ghetto all their lives because an American ghetto is better than their neighborhood back home; and here’s the kicker: they get it all for FREE. Back home, they must work to attain a life inferior to the American welfare lifestyle.

And they’re ashamed of nothing: they are owed everything because racism, because colonialism, because islamaphobia; and they teach these victimization narratives to their children, teach them to hate the very people paying for their existence.

Why would any sane nation let this happen? To create more Democrat voters, of course.
