  1. He’s a republican and republicans are scum. Therefore he is scum. Aristotle says so.

    February 28, 2017 at 9:04 PM

    • He has gotten way better at delivering prepared remarks. He’s no longer adding those stupid improvisational asides (“so bad, so very very bad”) every other sentence.

      February 28, 2017 at 9:26 PM

      • I agree with Magnavox on this, and I don’t care if Otis and Co. call me neocon scum for doing so.

I didn’t watch the speech because I was scared that he would mess up and do that aside stuff that Mag and I both hate. I am an avoidant little coward. I need to get over that.

Seriously, I thought that Trump was losing control. This is “Checkers.”

        MAGA! I’m no longer scared!

      • Trump has been doing billion dollar deals since before you were born. He has the polish, but like any good non sperg non synthoid PUA striver bitch he actually knows how to be situationally appropriate and how to address the audience he is speaking.

The media complained that his stump speeches used fourth grade level words. So what? You don’t use 10 syllable words on people who work in janitorial positions. Not only does it come off as condescending and rude, but it’s also generally alienating.

It’s like the nerdy kid who interrupts a bunch of kids talking about sports to let us all know how cool the physics is.

This is so fucking basic I can’t believe I have to state it openly like this. Our society has become so nerdified and spergy that basic human interaction is foreign to most people.

That my friends is the real downfall of America. The Nerdification of the upper echelons.

        Nerdiness + swplism = collapse

  2. Is Vargas finally going to get deported?

    February 28, 2017 at 9:10 PM

    • Dunno, but this one did (Lion, I posted this in other Trump post, so if you don’t want to allow both that’s OK)

      February 28, 2017 at 11:25 PM

      • I guess he’ll no longer be forced to live in the shadows.

        March 1, 2017 at 12:21 PM

      • “I guess he’ll no longer be forced to live in the shadows.”

Whatever. Without a border fence, it’s all catch-and-release kabuki theater. He’ll be back in Los Estados less than 48 hours.

Kick ’em out, keep ’em out: Build that wall, President Trump.

  3. He sounds like an SJW talking about women, blacks, Jews , civil rights.

    February 28, 2017 at 9:21 PM

    • It’s called Preparation of the Battlefield.

      February 28, 2017 at 9:31 PM

      • The battle against who?

        February 28, 2017 at 9:45 PM

      • “The battle against who?”

It’s a preemption of a slew of Dem complaints against the speech. If he hadn’t mentioned Black History Month they would spend hours talking about Trump’s dog whistle to racists.

        Mike Street Station

        February 28, 2017 at 9:48 PM

    • He’s way way too “Democrats are the Real Racists” for me

      February 28, 2017 at 9:44 PM

      • “Dems r the real racist” is idiot when we are talking amongst ourselves or are debating liberals, but it is exactly the kinda rhetoric you need to appeal to cuck whites in the middle. And if it can get us 20% of the non white vote instead of 17%, even better.

        Otis the Sweaty

        February 28, 2017 at 9:47 PM

      • I don’t think he’s only appealing to cuck whites. He signed an EO to help historically black colleges. Is he going soft?

        March 1, 2017 at 4:26 PM

      • Arguably HBCs increase segregation and would be favored by more moderate alt-righters.

        March 1, 2017 at 9:42 PM

  4. Alcohol, cigarettes and gambling cause many more problems than the drugs coming in across the border.

    February 28, 2017 at 9:23 PM

    • It’s all Darwinian going forward. Lower IQ individuals with low future time-orientation are in the process of elimination via self-annihilating hedonism.

      February 28, 2017 at 11:27 PM

  5. NeoGaf not taking this well at all

    February 28, 2017 at 9:25 PM

  6. Interstate highway system helped create the car disaster we have now, That’s a case against govt doing anything.

    February 28, 2017 at 9:37 PM

    • You want the roads to be there it’s just a question of how much you tax driving versus other modes of transportation. European countries have less car centric societies and extensive, high quality roads.

      February 28, 2017 at 9:51 PM

    • What disaster?

      February 28, 2017 at 10:25 PM

      • 1. Car dependency –no real options to live without a car in most of the country 2. massive waste of land and resources by spreading everything out. 3 massive costs of car ownership.–it’s a very inefficient transport system 4. deaths and injuries. 5. Driving a car in traffic isn’t fun for most, unless you are a real car buff.

There was an ad in Chicago in the 1940’s that said driving is work-take the train. Not only is it work, but we have to pay for it.

A society that is built properly should give people realistic choices in getting around. Walking 10 miles to work is not realistic. And don’t say move to NY.

        February 28, 2017 at 10:50 PM

  7. Stop all the standing and clapping,

    February 28, 2017 at 9:39 PM

    • Agree. I find these addresses before Congress insufferable. A series of brief boilerplate policy points interrupted by an endless series of applause. Stopped watching them in the Clinton Era because I just couldn’t take how mind numbing they were. Tuned in tonight hoping Trump would break the mold and give a typical Trump stump speech. Sorely disappointed that he conformed to expectations.

      February 28, 2017 at 9:46 PM

      • He’s getting his message out while being “Presidential”. This is exactly what he need to do. I’m not watching because I also find this stuff insufferable but this speech will go over great with centrist whites.

        February 28, 2017 at 9:51 PM

  8. School choice means your white school filling up with minorities just like section 8’s.

    February 28, 2017 at 9:49 PM

    • It’s not real. It’s just talk that sounds good. And maybe we can use it to break up the teachers unions and as a bone to the TruCons.

      Otis the Sweaty

      February 28, 2017 at 9:56 PM

      • Any politician sounds good if you just assume he or she doesn’t actually mean all the stuff you don’t agree with.

        February 28, 2017 at 10:14 PM

    • That would be bad but I think that possibility is overblown. Most people go to school where they live unless forcibly bussed elsewhere. And most groups self segregate in where they live.

      Andrew E.

      February 28, 2017 at 10:26 PM

    • No it’s not. School choice is what we have to say before millions more of us are registered and we really lower the boom. Your school can’t be filled up with Section 8s and refugees from Somalia if the states aren’t being terrorized by the Feds. Please look on the bright side: A Supreme Court nominee already in the works, and a cancer-riddled 85 year old hanging on for dear life.

      February 28, 2017 at 10:35 PM

    • It could be simply fixed just by allowing schools to screen and reject students with vouchers the same way they do with paying ones.

      March 1, 2017 at 3:36 PM

  9. I am not watching that useless drivel but according to Drudge, Trump has just announced he is going to legalize most of the illegal aliens. This is a hilarious turn of events. He is indeed a clown.

    Nice blog, dude

    February 28, 2017 at 9:57 PM

    • So far Trump has not said anything like that. The media has been pushing amnesty all afternoon though, that’s why it’s headlined on Drudge.

      Mike Street Station

      February 28, 2017 at 9:59 PM

      • Yeah, apparently Drudge just linked to some CNN article based on the remarks Trump had made to journos earlier today. Anyway, this is all just drivel: articles, speeches, etc. We will see what really happens when it actually starts happening.

        Nice blog, dude

        February 28, 2017 at 11:29 PM

      • The master trolls the media yet again, floating “bipartisan immigration reform” —in the Barbara Jordan sense. When I saw the speech was written by Steven Miller I knew it’d be great.

        March 1, 2017 at 8:24 AM

  10. This is the worst I’ve ever seen NeoGaf. Trump mentioning the victims of illegals has made their heads explode.

    Otis the Sweaty

    February 28, 2017 at 9:58 PM

  11. Whew, got through another speech without selling out on amnesty. Stupid MSM for tricking me again!

    Mike Street Station

    February 28, 2017 at 10:10 PM

    • He seems to have pressed the reset button with this speech. The open contempt is gone. They’re still hostile but the tone is different.

4D chess? I don’t know. But it sure was Checkers.

      March 1, 2017 at 9:10 PM

  12. Just out of curiosity, does anyone know why this isn’t being billed as a “State of the Union” address?

    February 28, 2017 at 10:14 PM

    • State of the Union = A wanking party of red sycophants and blue @sses hosted by the President

      February 28, 2017 at 11:42 PM

    • A new President’s initial sotu speech isn’t considered a true sotu, and is therefore described with another term (one I can’t recall right now).

      March 1, 2017 at 10:00 PM

    • It’s a silly answer, but basically because no one calls it one. Presidents only started giving quasi-SOTU speeches to Congress in their inaugural year after Reagan did it, so this is still fairly new.

      March 2, 2017 at 10:09 AM

  13. Why is Tom Brokaw on the air? He says immigrants aren’t taking our jobs. He is an idiot.

They are taking jobs and lowering wages for Americans.

The guy is old and sick and yet NBC still has to drag him out,

    February 28, 2017 at 10:15 PM

    • They will drag out anyone who will deny reality about the impact of immigration on wages. The NY Times is doing the same thing.

      February 28, 2017 at 10:57 PM

    • “They are taking jobs and lowering wages for Americans.”

That irrefutable truth is denied by 99% of academics and journalists.

      Lewis Medlock

      March 1, 2017 at 12:13 PM

      • The same 99% who say that there is no genetic difference in intelligence between races.

      • When is Trump going to destroy the academia community?

        Defund those whores.

The only thing more entertaining than seeing (uppity) illegals getting deported would be seeing lines of unemployed intellectuals realizing how dependent they are on government cheese for their worthless existence. 1/2 the departments at universities Should. Not. Exist.

This will also fix a lot of problems with the youth as they are forced back to studying hard sciences and real humanities.

But we know why we can’t simply get rid of grievance studies X… Disparate impact… And those students won’t be able to keep up in a real college environment class.

I generally agree with Lion that affirmative action is good nobless oblige, but most of the recipients have been so ungrateful and don’t vote for our side anyway so fuck them. End all affirmative action now. Crush all our enemies everywhere. Let them be picking up the pieces for a thousand years.
