Society has lost all common sense with transgender crap

Man becomes a woman and then wins woman’s weightlifting competition.

Isn’t there any common sense in this world? If you are/were a man, you shouldn’t be allowed to compete in women’s sports, no matter how much weird surgeries and hormone treatments that you’ve had.

Also, we need to stop pretending that a man can become a woman and vice versa. People can only become freaks, not the other sex.

Politics of rich people fall mostly into two categories

Politics of rich people fall mostly into two categories:

1. Those rich people who are in close or even complete agreement with the policies of Obama and Hillary Clinton, and they voted for Obama and Clinton.

2. Rich people who have the same worldview as the first type of rich people, but nevertheless they hold their noses (to avoid the stench of prole anti-gay anti-abortion anti-environment anti-immigration anti-affirmative-action stuff) and vote Republican because they want financial benefits from Republicans. Either they want lower taxes, or freedom from regulation because their money comes from industries that Democrats hate, oil and gas being most notable, but including other non-urban-based industries such as agriculture, mining, chemicals, transportation, and certain types of manufacturing.

The Koch brothers are #2 type rich people. Koch Industries are involved in all of those non-urban-based industries, including oil and gas, that Democrats hate.

The #2 type of rich people who vote Republican are NOT to be admired in any way. Since they agree with the worldview of #1 type rich people, they are only voting Republican because they are greedy. When they vote Republican they are thinking “I agree with everything the Democrats say, but screw that, I want to make more money!”

Many of the #2 type of rich people voted for Hillary in 2016. They would have voted for Jeb Bush, but the stink of Trump’s proleness was just too overpowering for them. They weren’t concerned about the Supreme Court falling into liberal hands because they agree with liberal jurisprudence.

It is very typical that there’s an older male Republican-voting #2 type whose wife and children all vote Democratic.

Some have said that the Republicans need the #2 type of rich people for their political contributions, but Trump showed that political contributions from rich people are vastly overrated. Jeb Bush spent massively more money in the primaries thanks to his rich donors, but Trump totally schlonged him. And then Trump beat Hillary who also had far more money in donations from rich people.

To give credit to commenter “destructure,” this is the comment he wrote:

If you read the wikipedia entries for the Koch brothers, who basically own the GOP, you’ll see they’re the kind of people who claim to be ‘socially liberal but fiscally conservative’. The thing is, they equate being ‘fiscally conservative’ with being libertarian which are NOT the same at all. The Koch brothers support abortion, feminism, gay rights, SSM, open borders, free trade, etc. About the only Democrat policies they don’t support are higher taxes and environmental regulation — because the latter interferes with their business. In other words, they’re liberals on everything that doesn’t affect them and libertarian on everything that does.

Now, obviously, there might be disagreement among conservatives on some issues. But, from what I can tell, the GOP are just liberal Democrats who don’t want to pay taxes. So the Democrat establishment are liberals who want to pay more taxes. And the GOP establishment are liberals who want to pay less. And conservatives wonder why the GOP hasn’t been doing what they want? There’s the answer.

The thing is, the GOP couldn’t push higher taxes without losing their billionaire supporters who want lower taxes. Those billionaires would just switch parties. After all, that’s the only difference they have with liberals anyway. And I kind of think that the establishment is already too tilted in favor of the Democrats as it is.

* * *

One of the points of this post is that when rich people say they want higher taxes, it’s not because of some hidden scam they are running, it’s because they agree with the policies of Democrats.

Certain middle-class conservative types who comment on social media and blogs just don’t seem to grasp that the rich people are liberals.

New Apple announcement

There is actually very little here.

There are two new overpriced “RED” versions of the iPhone 7 and 7+. Only difference is the color. Big deal.

The iPhone SE, the most affordable iPhone, is the same price but comes with twice as much storage as before, so 16GB is doubled to 32GB and 64GB is doubled to 128GB. This makes the iPhone SE even a better bargain than before, if you don’t mind a smaller phone.

The iPad Air 2 is replaced by a new iPad just called an iPad. It has an A9 processor instead of the A9X processor in the iPad Pro (but there’s only a very slight performance improvement with the A9X), but costing only $329 it’s a real bargain compared to the $599 list price for the iPad Pro (although I only paid $427.50 for my iPad Pro).

What do you get with the Pro that you don’t get with the iPad? Support for the pencil and keyboard, four speakers instead of only two, a better camera (as if you really are going to use an iPad as a camera), and a superior display with superior anti-reflective coating, but both models have the same pixel count. Also the pro is slightly thinner and lighter (0.96 pounds vs 1.03 pounds).

A very underwhelming announcement. The main takeaway is that Apple is making it’s entry-level iPad and iPhone less expensive than before while not changing anything about the more premium products.

* * *

Although the new iPad has a more advanced chip (A9 vs A8X) than the iPad Air 2 it’s replacing, it’s also thicker, heavier and loses the anti-reflective coating, so it’s actually a less deluxe cheaper inferior product.

Rich people WANT their taxes raised

As reported by the Daily News.

I’ve been telling your for a while that rich people want their taxes raised otherwise they wouldn’t vote Democratic.

It’s pretty stupid of the Republican party to fight for lower taxes for the rich who vote Democratic and who have now come out in favor of higher taxes for themselves.

* * *

The letter clearly states that they want the state to have more money by raising taxes only on the very highest of incomes, it’s not some scam to lower their own taxes while raising taxes for middle-class people.

Commenter Aric writes in defense of rich people who have been accused of hypocrisy for not donating money to the government if they want the government to have more money:

[T]here is nothing suspicious about calling for higher taxes while not donating to the government. They rightly believe that if they want to improve the world, their money could do more good through the right charity than through the government. Even if they thought the government is the best place to donate to, it would be an inconsequential amount. The coercion of taxes is necessary to raise enough money. There is nothing hypocritical about calling for higher taxes while paying the minimum tax you are legally required to pay. Just like I don’t see a problem with calling for changes to trade laws to protect American jobs while running a business that imports large quantities of products. As players we play the game with the rules that exist, but we should also try to change the rules to make a better society.

Girls S06E06 “Full Disclosure” **spoilers**

Hannah is pressured to tell the father (the Pakistani water-skiing instructor) that she’s having his baby.

Jessa comes to visit Hannah after she learns from Adam that she’s pregnant. Hannah is still pissed at Jessa so it doesn’t go well. I think this was an especially poorly written and acted scene.

Since the beginning of the series, Jemima Kirke (who plays Jessa) sure has disfigured herself with a lot of disgusting tattoos.

Marnie’s druggie ex-husband has become too dysfunctional to perform as a musician.

Ray and Shoshanna do not appear in this episode.

Yes, it’s a pretty short synopsis, but this episode didn’t inspire me to write much.

New hero coming to Overwatch

Tomorrow is a big day. A new hero will be introduced to Overwatch, Orisa, who is a black African female robot, thus adding more diversity to the game and totally destroying the archaic notion that heroes are white male humans.

Orisa will be the third robot hero. We already have the non-talkative nature-loving Bastion, and the Buddhist robot Zenyatta who wanders the world, helping those he meets to overcome their personal struggles and find inner peace.

Zenyatta is the only overtly religious hero. Will Blizzard ever introduce a Christian hero? Don’t count on it.

Big Little Lies S01E05 “Once Bitten” **spoilers**

Kind of funny that the title of this episode is “Once Bitten” and Alexander Skarsgård who plays Perry, Celeste’s wife-beating husband, previously played the vampire Eric Northman on the HBO series True Blood.

Yes, Eric Northman beats up Celeste again this episode. And the Asian woman who appears briefly in the flash forwards says that she couldn’t imagine Madeline and her beta-male husband Ed having sex. Once again, there’s the contrast between the asshole jerk who makes Celeste have intense orgasms, and the nice-guy Ed who does the opposite to Madeline.

Someone bit Amabella at school, but she refuses to say who did it. Renata goes totally crazy psycho bitch, and she’s sure that Jane’s son Ziggy is the “bully.” But the show seems to be suggesting that Ziggy is innocent. Is Renata crazy psycho bitch enough to murder someone?

Madeline and the good looking theatre director get into a car accident that hurts him more than it hurts her. Perhaps this leads to Ed getting suspicious, finding out that Madeline cheated on him with the theatre guy, and he goes beta-male rage on him?

The episode ends with Jane being pulled over by police for speeding after she visits the interior decorator in San Luis Obispo whom Madeline believes is the guy who raped Jane. The show is trying to suggest that maybe Jane shot the guy because we know she was packing heat. But I am almost sure that’s a red herring. That would make the rest of the show anti-climactic. The murder victim is surely a character who has gotten more airtime than the interior decorator who was only onscreen a few seconds in this episode.

Why I don’t buy into the high fructose corn syrup scare

I remember back in the 1970s, before corn syrup became the primary sweetener used in commercial foods, the health food people said that fructose was healthier than cane sugar because fructose was a “natural” sugar found in fruits while cane sugar was evil processed sugar.

It’s only after mass production of corn syrup sweetener that the health food people started saying the opposite.

This is just a case of whatever seems to be the most “artificial” mass-produced food being picked on, even though all sugars are harvested from natural plants. For the same reason, soda is demonized over fruit juice because soda seems artificial and fruit juice seems natural, but they are both equally unhealthy (assuming that liquids loaded up with sugar are unhealthy).

* * *

One of the most important things I learned from Paul Fussell is that sweet foods are prole, so I have made a conscious effort to eat less sweet food in order to be higher class.

Videogames in the lives of the unemployed.

Commenter “Simba of the Blogosphere” brought to my attention a rather long essay at The Economist [link has now been fixed] about the role of videogames in the lives of the unemployed.

There’s a lot of musing about whether the gamers are unhealthfully addicted to the games, or they are benefiting from a distraction from depression, and about whether it makes sense that those who choose to work so they can buy big houses with expensive furniture are lauded, while those who choose not to work to play videogames are looked down upon.

But nothing about the future I’ve envisioned when the government solves the unemployment problem by paying people to play videogames.

* * *

Overwatch got better, but now I think I am growing tired of it. I lose more “ranked” games than I win, and my rank keeps going down and down. Down to 1071, which is in the lowest category. You have to get to 1500 to get to the next skill category (and then you probably get some sort of stupid reward like a new player icon or points towards getting a gold weapon which works the same as a regular weapon except it’s gold). There doesn’t seem to be any chance of me becoming a top player.

In this sense, gaming is just like the real world: I am stuck at the bottom.

How I discovered the reason for ketchup

Until recently, I thought ketchup was useless except as something to dip French fries into. But when faced with a rather unpleasant turkey meatloaf, I remembered that Donald Trump likes to put ketchup on his food, so I thought I would give it a try. And amazingly, the ketchup turned the unpleasant turkey meatloaf into something enjoyable!

Thus did I discover the reason for ketchup. As a condiment that overpowers the flavors of food, it will absolutely ruin high quality Manhattan food. (And that even applies to Manhattan-quality hamburgers, you don’t want to ruin them with ketchup.) But when faced with crappy prole food, which is what the majority of America eats, ketchup works wonders.
