San Diego shooter

Link

Sounds like a real-life Michael Douglas in the movie Falling Down. Not beta-male rage, even though the shooter looks like a beta male.

Is there a racism element? Not clear.

  1. NYMag’s series of articles about the “new far right” has a few interesting reads: http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2017/04/beyond-alt-understanding-the-new-far-right.html

Kudos to them for recognizing Sailer’s importance.

  2. Theory: there were frequent pool parties at his apartment complex, they were noisy and annoying, often including much lower-class types than the typical tenants at his complex (either invited or snuck in) and in his list of grievances (of which he had many), they were the one at which he decided to go down shooting. Probably out of convenience — he decided he was going to die today, and the pool party presented itself as a good enough target.

He clearly didn’t plan this out too thoroughly. He used a handgun rather than a more lethal assault rifle because 1. He owned one already, and 2. He wasn’t really interested in maximizing body count so much as going out with a bang. Also 3. He could hold his beer while firing a handgun (though if he were interested in maximizing accuracy, he would use both hands).

The fact that the pool party participants were mostly black is largely coincidence, except for the fact that noisy pool party participants are not evenly distributed. His views on race probably don’t quite align with those of the NYT, but he’s also not Dylan Roof.

    • This sounds like good analysis.

    • >His views on race probably don’t quite align with those of the NYT, but he’s also not Dylan Roof.

Way to go out on a limb there…

  3. The article linked to says his spouse had an Hispanic surname, so presumably was Hispanic. There was an unpaid radiology bill given to a collection agency — maybe he had cancer.

    • He was in heavy debt. I think over 100k. This definately played a role.

  4. The MSM has this covered already. Blow up Twitter. Invite figureheads of the Black community and guilty white Liberals. Round the clock coverage. Re-air documentary from 2003 about “Race in America”. Video montages of clips from the same 2003 documentary.

(This protocol isn’t meant for shooters like the guy in Fresno or Vestor Flanagan)

    • The job of car mechanic is working class, but his 2014 salary at the Ford dealership was $74,676, which should support a middle-class lifestyle. Don’t know if his wife also worked.

      • I scanned through the bankruptcy filing. He appeared to have a lot of medical debt. It is not clear if it was him or his most recent wife/girl friend that ran up the medical debt, since it is a joint bankruptcy filing. It looks like most of his debt problems were medical related. Not clear if the mechanic job included health insurance.

His wife/girl friend was listed as owing $4500 in sales tax to California. This means she was self-employed and operating some kind of business. That amount of tax would indicate around $45K in revenue, but we don’t know if that is one month, quarter or longer revenue. Also it is not clear what kind of business so we don’t know what the profit margin was. In the income section of the filing his wife/girl friend is listed as not employed and have zero income.

I think they should have been able to live on his salary, but it looks like he was forced into bankruptcy by medical debt.

      • Maybe in Iowa this is a good job. In SAN Diego he is lower class.

    • His income was well above the American median, working a skilled trade. I understand that “prole” here can sometimes describe anyone who is not both an opera critic and the Holy Roman Emperor, but “low-class loser” is a bit much. He was much better employed than, say, a truck driver.

I also don’t think that gun ownership is necessarily prole, even by the Frasier Crane standard. Handguns are more for the common man (so point taken on this guy), but in some circles, a fine Italian O/U shotgun is a mark of class and taste. Skeet shooting and upland bird hunting are the gentleman’s uses for a gun.

Even Spielberg enjoys guns, as documented by Sailer at one point. And what do you know, he enjoys skeet shooting with Fabbri shotguns, generally priced in the tens of thousands of dollars.

      • Funny you should say that. My friend the SF restaurant owner has two high-end Italian shotguns, a Benelli and a Perazzi, which are like Lexus to Ferrari. He goes shooting with a Kaiser cardiologist, who also uses a Benelli. Definitely not downscale.

  6. It’s awful. I really hope this doesn’t spiral into low level guerrilla warfare.

Look: I speak as a survivor of a nasty subway mugging back in 1981. I know what it’s like to be scared of blacks. But shooting innocent people at a pool party? No. I also know what it’s like to be tortured by noisy neighbors, in my case, a couple of white frat boys. I never seriously thought of shooting them, although I did pray for them to die in a car crash.

    • I definitely feel like shooting people, but all my guns are locked an hour’s drive away. So I can’t do anything too stupid. Owning guns is a problem for temperamental people. I don’t own a good stabbing knife for this reason either. It’s very easy to stab a dude to death, but I need to help my family out, so I make sure I can’t do anything too stupid.

So attention must be paid. He’s not to be allowed to fall into his grave like an old dog. Attention, attention must be finally paid to such a person.”

All ironies associated with the above are fully intended.

  9. Lion,

The alt right has revealed itself as a fascist mob of violent thugs who go to demos with guns. Perhaps Otis can tell us what the neogaffers think of this.

My own take is that violent confrontations between hard core left and hard core right galvanize normie public opinion to take sides. And let me tell you: the alt right will lose, and they might drag the entire conservative movement with them. The responsible left disavows Antifa. Conservatives must put distance between themselves & the alt right.

BTW somewhere here I once said a good word about that “based stick man.” I rescind them. Turns out he’s a petty thief and a thug with numerous arrests. A low life.

Isn’t that how the Left always reacts when their standard bearers prove less than saintly?

  11. The shooting rampage has not been deemed as a hate crime. With our current politics, and the yellowing and darkening of many American cities, it’s quite easy to agitate those who have a strong disdain for the current state of affairs. Every well off enclave in America are populated with East Asians — as a good example.

  12. I’d call this not so much “beta rage” but “prole rage.” And, yes, similar MIchael Douglas in “Falling Down.” Selis had no previously criminal history. Seemed like a regular working stiff. Child support obligations for three teenagers must have been eating up a large chunk of his income.

From the link, the 2015 bankruptcy shows joint annual income as $54K, but also that he earned $75K in 2014 from the Ford dealership. So, he probably earned less overtime in 2015 and the income decline contributed to his financial problems.

I read somewhere that the apartment complex is considered upscale, so rent was probably, what $2000, per month, and that’d be hard to cover on his income.

When I’ve lived in apartments, or stay at hotels, I always seek to stay far from the pool.

  13. Black male “beta rage”?

    05/01/17 – http://heavy.com/news/2017/05/kendrex-kendrix-white-university-texas-austin-stabbing-suspect-attacker-photos-pictures-facebook-twitter-motive/

A 21-year-old University of Texas student is accused of stabbing four men, killing one, in an attack on the college’s Austin campus, police say…Three of the victims are white males and one is Asian male…

Kendrex Jermaine White graduated from Killeen High School in 2014, according to his Facebook page. He says he is a resident of Killeen, originally from Hawaii. His father works for the U.S. Army in Killeen. White is a junior biology and pre-med major at the university. According to his Twitter profile, he has been studying to eventually become a doctor…had recently been missing classes. Anderson said he asked White about it and he said he “had to put academics on the back burner for a bit” because he had a “few things going on in his life”…

Maybe a case of academic mismatch. Maybe some influence from an on-campus, anti-White black Israelite group. Maybe some schizophrenia setting in. Maybe, as a proud black man, having the last name “White” infuriated him.

That Heavy.com news site is pretty good – concise and good pics.
