Bill Gates now critical of immigration

Breitbart reported on an interview of Bill Gates by a German newspaper.

“On the one hand you want to demonstrate generosity and take in refugees, but the more generous you are, the more word gets around about this — which in turn motivates more people to leave Africa,” Gates told the Sunday newspaper.

“Germany cannot possibly take in the huge, massive number of people who are wanting to make their way to Europe.”

Because of this, Gates stressed that “Europe must make it more difficult for Africans to reach the continent via the current transit routes”.

Entirely ignored by the mainstream media.

  2. This is very encouraging news. If there’s going to be an eventual change in policy, it’ll have to have the buy-in of powerful figures like Gates. A few pseudonymous bloggers can influence the debate but they aren’t enough to effect change.

There is no chance Gates would be saying this if the 2016 election had been another face-off between the Bush and Clinton dynasties.

  3. Huge and clearly in the right direction. Gates’s break with politically correct orthodoxy will provide cover for others who want to express similar views. But look at this, form the end of the article:

“Without a swift collective action, we can only expect more tragedies at sea,” he declared, noting that around 2,000 migrants have lost their lives on the sea route from Libya to Italy this year.

The Italian diplomat repeated calls for an “urgent distribution system” for incoming migrants and asylum seekers, and “additional legal pathways to admission”.

Translation – make it possible for lots more Africans to enter Europe and remain there and force EU nations (especially the reluctant ones, such as Hungary and Poland) to take their “fair share.” No wonder Brexit succeeded. I wonder if more nations will follow?

Perhaps Germany will take the lead here by sending some U-boats into the Med to “deal” with the problem as in 1942 – Torpedo los!

  4. I’ve been a Gates critic before but good for him (and for all of us).

  5. Too late Bill. Where were you 2 years ago when the childless hag decided, inexplicably, that it would be good policy to open the German borders to 1M+ Muslims (over 500,000 of which were young single men under 30)?

All very well for the Germans, right? It’s their problem. Unfortunately, not. Merkel’s abysmal judgement exposed the entire EU to her stupidity, and the damage is well and truly done. Even the Germans are realizing that these people are not going to assimilate into job-holding, hard-working German citizens.

This is the leader of the EU? How could anyone ever trust this woman’s judgement again? Oh wait – looks like the Germans are set on doubling down on stupid, because they are likely to elect her once again.

I suspect this G-20 is going to be interesting.

  6. That interview by Gates caught my attention, too. But it didn’t come in a vacuum. Gates foundations has been pushing access to birth control to help get 3rd world poverty under control. But the African Union just held a big conference where the Nigerian minister announced it wasn’t their goal to limit population growth. They have the highest birth rates in the world at 7.6 kids and the country announces they don’t intend to do a damn thing about it. I imagine a lot of people were incredulous at that.

    • The Nigerian minister is probably just looking for a bribe. This is why it’s useful to have guys like Bill Gates on your side.

    • Matteo Renzi has now said that Italy has no moral obligation to admit immigrants and Antonio Tajani has warned of catastrophe if the current immigration into Europe continues. So some in the elite appear to be waking up at least to some extent to reality.

    • Macron also is now saying some things that if they were said by Le Pen would cause her to be denounced as a Nazi. Macron is still pretty unknown but perhaps he isn’t just a tool of the elite.

  7. It’s not too late. Of course he covers up the bitter truths with the usual bromides about increased aid. But it represents a significant step in the realist direction. He is to be commended.

  8. Truly live and learn! Who would’ve thought? I’m humbled. People are unpredictable.
