The Mooch joins the team

with 22 comments

I have a good feeling about this.

Trump gets along a lot better with rich business types than he does with career politics types.

Ivanka and Kushner both support the Mooch, and I trust them to know what’s best for Trump.

There’s the fact that he actually wants the job when he could be making a lot more money with a lot less personal risk in the private sector.

And he has a law degree from the Big H.

  2. Based on the clip on the NYT, the mooch doesn’t seem stupid and can actually speak smoothly to the press.

Trump hiring someone smart and with some balls for once is a good change.

  3. Lion,

A suggestion. Don’t use nicknames without a reference as to what the nickname stands for. Mnuchin?

  6. Mooch is actually a globalist finance type who was a strong backer of Scott Walker during the primaries. He dissed Trump pretty strongly during the primaries:

    • That wouldve been great if he had made Elizabeth Warren his vice president. What does it say about this guy that he spent so many years on wall street and that’s his reaction to such mild criticism on Trump’s part.

If nothing else this should show once and for all just how meaningless all of Trump’s anti wall street rhetoric really was. Just like Sanders was not anti immigration despite whatever he may have said in that Vox interview, Trump was not anti wall street.

But who would want a job where you are constantly putting out fires that Trump starts because he has no discipline? Something tells me that this guy is not going to get Trump to start sticking to a script or even an outline for that matter.

Why is it so hard to grasp that people make money by leveraging the contacts and information they get from government service?

  8. One of the few respectable guidos (depends on whom you ask) who made his career in value transference with Harvard credentials.

      • Besides being a name, guido is a derogatory term for (Southern) Italian Americans who are non-thinking.

The painter of the Sistine Chapel was born and lived in Firenze. He wasn’t a guido, because of this reason.

Certain IAs who are very conscientious of their southern roots, often wonder why there aren’t notable teroni being mentioned in the American history books. Sort of like Southerners who believe all Americans should understand who was Robert E Lee and what the Confederate Flag meant.

She’s originally from Naples, and our Cuomos from NY have their roots from the same place.

  9. Press secretary Robert Gibbs resigned February 11, 2008 from the Powerbottom Administration after three weeks because he was an insufferably glib, smug, self-satisfied narcissist who, instead of answering press corps questions, made unfunny, evasive jokes with a repugnant smirk upon his lips. In his final weeks the press corps, rather than laugh at his unfunny lames (as they had all thru the summer of 2008), directly told him to quit joking and please answer their questions directly. Gibbs was the perfect spokeshole for the Powerbottom Administration, just as solipsistic and sanctimoniously self-satisfied as Powerbottom herself.

President Trump is correct to resignfire his previous pressboy and get a real man on the job. God bless them both.

  11. Hedge fund types make money through contacts and connections that enable them to raise vast sums of money and give them information on what other wealthy people and organizations are doing. Doing some time in the upper echelons of government would be more worthwhile than trying to guess which stocks to buy.
