Boston Free Speech Rally

leave a comment »

This is something I will be following today.

It has a much better name than last week’s rally. If you’re in favor of Free Speech, traditionally that means you’re a good guy not a bad guy.

It looks like the Boston police will be helping them by ensuring that they don’t bring any weapons to the rally. So if there’s violence, it will almost surely be only the antifas committing the violence. Which the mainstream media will ignore unless it’s some very serious violence. The best thing for the alt-right is if the antifas commit a massacre. The symbolism of a second Boston Massacre would be great propaganda. But I personally am not volunteering to be one of the people killed in the massacre.

I don’t think the police will allow anything like that. They seem serious about keeping the two sides separated.

And a possible terrorist attack in Finland

with 23 comments

Two dead, six wounded in knife attack. Suspect is “foreign-looking.” Police imply that the suspect is an immigrant.

I think that Finland needs a Finnish Donald Trump to ban immigration from Muslim countries.

So says Matt Drudge:

And now the NY Times:

Maybe this is good news. Maybe Bannon can do more on the outside. He wasn’t accomplishing much on the inside.

ACLU: White Supremacists no longer entitled to all First Amendment rights

with 39 comments

While the ACLU continues to support “peaceful” free speech, the statement implies that the ACLU believes that “white supremacists” are inherently violent and thus not entitled to the freedom to assemble.

One also gets the impression that actual facts (as to whether or not they really are violent) don’t matter. “White supremacist” automatically means violent person. (On the other hand, I do support banning weapons from protests, which needs to be enforced against both protesters and counter-protesters. We’re lucky that, so far, people haven’t started shooting at each other.)

The Jew-hating Daily Stormer website is still off the internet. The Russian internet companies joined the global crackdown. I don’t particularly like Jew-haters, but it’s the beginning of the slippery slope that will eventually lead to blogs like mine being removed from the internet, cheered on by the ACLU.

And in other news, a 145-year-old statue of Chief Justice Taney in Maryland was spirited away overnight.

How are we any different than ISIS?

VDARE targeted by corporate left

with 89 comments

This week, VDARE was cut off from Paypal and the hotel where they reserved a conference in 2018 canceled the reservation.

Luckily, I’m further below the radar than VDARE. But perhaps, to be prepared, I should look for a new blogging platform in Russia? This week, banned the anti-Semitic Vanguard America blog.

Being old enough to remember the Cold War, it does seem very weird that Russia is now the place to go to avoid U.S. censorship.

I can’t tell where this is going

Big victory for the mainstream liberal establishment?

Or the beginning of Trump finally dumping the GOP establishment and big business, and becoming the President of the regular people who elected him (because now that GOPe and big business have joined the enemy forces, Trump no longer has to appease them)?

End of free speech?

with 147 comments

Liberals used to be proud, once upon a time, that we so valued the freedom of speech that even the KKK was allowed to have a rally.

However, the reaction I see today is that, if you say anything about how the protesters were allowed to be there and they had a permit, or that counter-protesters are not allowed to attack protesters because of their speech (which were among President Trump’s points at his press conference), then that means you’re an evil racist yourself.

One of the alt-right guys, Jason Kessler, was attacked and punched by a man while he was talking in front of TV cameras, and the police didn’t even prosecute the attacker, and no one is even bothered by that. (But imagine what would have happened if a white man had punched a BLM or Muslim speaker. They would have thrown the book at him for a “hate” crime.)

Is this the beginning of the end of American democracy?

“Mark Caplan” answers:

The Rule of Law is through but democracy is vibrant in the sense that the majority of Americans are anti-Alt-Right. The violent suppression of the civil rights of the Alt-Right reflects the will of the majority.

Does anyone have an infrastructure question?

with 64 comments

One of Trump’s best conferences. The media ignored the fact that the counter-protesters were violent, but Trump keeps pointing it out. And he asks where does the statue-taking-down stop? George Washington was a slave-owner, do we take down his statues?

He pissed off the liberal mainstream media a lot with this press conference.
