Racist American Museum of Natural History, part 4

In the Hall of Northwest Coast Indians.

First of all, the name of the hall is racist, it’s Native Americans, not Indians!

However, it’s racist that this hall exists at all. Why are statues from ancient Greece and ancient Rome at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, while statues created by Native Americans are housed here, next to animal dioramas? This is an example of the racist disregard for the art or non-Western cultures.

Furthermore, how were these artifacts obtained? At best, the museum ripped off the Native Americans by purchasing them for far below their fair value, and at worst they were stolen by white men. Some of these artifacts are sacred to their religion and it’s sacrilege to display them as curiosities of a “primitive” culture. Everything in this hall should be returned to the Native American tribes to which they morally belong.

* * *

I hardly made anything up, most of this was on the website of the SJWs who had a protest against the Teddy Roosevelt statue.

  1. This NYT article might have instigated the removal of statues of individuals who signified oppression and racism spearheaded by SJWs.

Any artwork that makes us uneasy should be damned!

It’s so pathetic and humiliating to be put in the position of having to invest all your hope in this asshole who sorta agrees with you verbally the half the time he’s not saying the complete opposite. Maybe we should all just start ignoring him the way his staff does?

    • The article is just leftist speculation. There isn’t one iota of facts to support the idea that Trump is inneffecfive or too lazy/does not want to do the job.

All the Bannon/Trump articles have also had sensationalist headlines that state the opposite of what actually happened (ie the media is trying to mislead the public through a headline barrage – color me shocked).

Bannon left because he wasn’t getting any traction draining the swamp there (he even said in his exit comments that he is leaving not because trump isn’t trying but because the swamp is too thick). Bannon will be more useful at Breitbart where he will be free to rhetorically savage the cucks and their liberal/corporate enablers.

  7. What a sad country you live in. The savagery going on is as bad as what ISIS did in Syria.

Interestingly enough no one in the US seems to be actively opposing this nonsense, probably because the average cultural level of Americans has been lowered to such an extent that very few people find anything wrong in destroying history.

I am sorry to say but your supposedly “high IQ” and “highly educated” Americans who should be massively mobilising to oppose these acts are showing an indolence and a lack of interest that places them intellectually at par with Africans or Middle Easterns. Things like this would never be possible in Europe (with the exception of the UK, a country with a urban population almost as regressed as the US).

High culture suggests supremacy which is very, very bad. I know this because I encounter the message that supremacy is very, very bad from the very beginning of each day through the end as delivered through a multitude of entertainment, government, media and educational platforms. Anything this pervasive must be true though I couldn’t possibly tell you why supremacy is so bad except I gather it is connected to slavery.

    • It’s a lazy article, citing only one example — and it’s someone the author admits to be nontypical (an attention seeker who says extreme things on purpose to draw in the media).

That said, it’s true that the “manosphere” overlaps quite a lot with the non-establishment right. However, instead of a fixation on cuckold porn (as Salon would have it), what probably causes MRAs etc to gravitate towards the non-mainstream right is the nature of their opposition. Feminism is not just conventional opinion on the left, it’s largely entrenched on the establishment right too. If you oppose it and want to overturn some of its assumptions, the only political forum open to that discussion is on the “Alt-right” (loosely defined).

Humans are social animals and tend to adopt the views of those we perceive to be in our group, so that’s how a guy who started out only being concerned about Wisconsin divorce law begins to worry about white genocide and fussing about how many Jews are in the 1%. If this discussion was allowed to happen in the mainstream, then there would be more MRAs with conventional political views (but also more MRAs). You pays your money and you takes your choice.

Lonely normie => finds PUA => fails at it/gets divorced/or succeeds but becomes disillusioned by the nihilism of modern gender relations => MRA/MGTOW (mgtow if unsuccessful at pua) => alt-light/alt-right/NAZI (or the Richard Spencer version of aspirational fascism) => gets married/has kids and goes back to being a “woke” normie

  10. What never seems to occur to the SJWs, is that without white people “appropriating” these artifacts and putting them in their white people museums, they would all be rotting away somewhere, tossed into the fire to keep warm, repurposed into something else, etc. The Indians themselves weren’t going to keep them intact. The Arabs were running around for centuries and didn’t so much as lift a spoon of sand off their ancient monuments until whitey showed up and started digging. Even the ancient languages were forgotten in their own lands and had to be figured out by whites (not counting American Indians, who never had a written language — THE fundamental cornerstone of any civilization).

But we’re supposed to pretend that these cultures care so deeply about their histories, when in fact all they do is use this stuff to beat white people over the head in order to try to shake more gold out of them.

Progressives have limited memories and a very limited understanding of history. Very often when I hear about university profs getting harassed for taking a nominally conservative stand on some issue or other, I’m pretty certain that the same prof was likely a radical a decade or two back.

      • I think it was in the mid 80’s when the museum was in the midst of renovation one antiquated hall at a time, and in preparation for the new wing. The neat $10 all day parking lot lasted until the mid nineties, then obliterated by the new wing and planetarium dedicated not long before 9/11.
The eskimo collection is probably molder in in their subbasement. A pity.
It was replaced by a hallway to funnel crowds around the planetarium show.
