Drudge v. Bannon feud?

For a while now (two weeks?), there’s always some sort of anti-Bannon link at Drudge. What’s going on?

  1. Feud has been going on for a long time. Bannon aides were warning Matt to go back to his hobbit hole in Miami way back in August:

Nothing I have read ever explained the origins of the feud. Could be something personal rather than ideological. Bannon and Roger Stone don’t get along at all either despite their similar politics.

  2. The Koch brothers don’t like Bannon or Breibart.

    • Not exactly a mystery. The Koch brothers are open borders/globalist diehards. Bannon and Breitbart are pushing nationalism and populism, which is clearly opposed to that agenda.

      • That’s the bullshit that Bannon is peddling. Bannon has his own billionaire backers, the Mercers. But all Bannon is offering is a more criticism of the cultural elite (who just happen to be his competitors at less bullshitty media companies) and what people want to believe is a more genuine opposition to immigration. There’s no other economic populism which is a good indication that they’re full of it on immigration and means that even if they win their election and carry through on immigration it won’t be much of a victory for ordinary people.

Interestingly both the Mercers and the Koch brothers like Ted Cruz for whatever reason, but Bannon is opposed to every other current senator.

      • As I’ve written before, I’ve listened to Bannon on the radio for several years. I know where he stands on the issues. Bannon is an authentic voice of nationalism and populism. I have my disagreements with him and he’s certainly not above criticism, but he’s the best guy out there by far. He’s solid on immigration and the Mohammadans. And he’s pretty good on trade as well. He’s able to recognize some of the drawbacks of the big international trade agreements.

He doesn’t seem to fit any preconceived mold on foreign policy, so I’m not quite sure how to characterize him. On economic matters, I’m more willing to accept the welfare state than he is. That’s where we differ most.

      • I’ve never heard his radio show but Bannon is not an economic populist. I think his brand of corporatism is more paternatlistic and benign than the dominant GOP one, but it doesn’t go nearly far enough.

  3. Drudge is gay and irked that Roy Moore won the Alabama primary?

  4. Not the first time they’ve feuded. There was a similar thing before Bannon left the White House, but they appear to have made up after that.

  5. SONOMA COUNTY, CA (Breitbart) – The U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement Agency (ICE) issued a detainer request on the Sonoma County Jail for Jesus Fabian Gonzalez, who was arrested Sunday on suspicion of arson in Wine Country fires that have killed at least 40 residents.

Breitbart News reported earlier this week that Sonoma County Sheriffs had arrested Jesus Fabian Gonzalez, 29, at Maxwell Regional Park in Sonoma County after a series of reports of ongoing fires in the region. Mr. Gonzalez was observed around 3:00 p.m. PDT wearing a jacket and walking “out of the creek area and a plume of smoke behind him,” according to the Santa Rosa Press Democrat.

Mr. Gonzalez, who is homeless and reportedly known by law enforcement to have been living under a nearby bridge, claimed he was cold and had lit the fire to stay warm. But it was a balmy 78 degrees when he and the plume of smoke were first observed.

  7. Drudge is a jealous bitch, and scared that Breitbart will supplant him as the go to for the right wing. I don’t think they really compete, but he probably does.

  8. Drudge v. Bannon feud?

Bannon also feuded with H.R. McMaster, Javanka, Mattis, Gen. Kelly, Scaramucci, and most of the rest of the West Wing.

The man has a talent for creating enemies unnecessarily.

  10. Black Gaffer explains what would have happened had blacks discovered America:

“The trajectory would be different, based on what we know of medieval African civilisations. They were sculptors, warriors, merchants, stonemasons, herders, tradesmen, artists, brilliant craftsmen, astronomers, explorers. If the builder class emigrated to America, they would have established strong trade relationships with Native Americans and the rest of the world.
There may have been slavery, but it wouldnt have been a racialised caste system pounded into social institutions for hundreds of years.
There may have been wars with Native American tribes, but I doubt there would be organised campaigns to ethnically cleanse whole areas of Indians.
There would be little to no inclination to get involved in any sort of internal European war, unless backing one European power over another meant eliminating an existential threat to American sovereignty.
I doubt there would have been an expansionist war with Mexico.
I also doubt the nation would be founded in opposition to a monarchy, there would probably be a dynastic family ruling the nation with a cabinet of appointed officials, kind of like Rome.”

  11. O/T but:

new zealands new govt (left wing), chosen by NZ nationlist party New Zealand First, is going to cut immigration by a third.

will it be the left, not the right that ushers in immigration restriction policies? definitely not in wacko countries like the united states and probably not in australia either, but this is a very positive and constructive move – far better than anything trump has done since he has been in office.

    • “will it be the left, not the right that ushers in immigration restriction policies?”

I doubt it. The left used to believe in immigration restriction, but they gave up on that decades ago. Now they push open borders, multiculturalism and political correctness. The left wing power brokers hate the cultural conservatism that many white workers believe. And the mainstream right hate the economic leverage that unions provide. That’s why populism and nationalism are on the rise. Enough people now believe that both political establishments are corrupt and unable to serve their interests. Of course the jury’s out on how all this will turn out.

    • I’ll believe it when I see it. Ditto Austria.

      October 19, 2017 at 11:19 pm

    • I’m curious why the left in NZ is going towards immigration restriction. That seems the opposite of every other leftward movement in the West.

      • to get into office they needed the backing of the new zealand first party, who held the balance between the two main parties. NZF are immigration restrictionist nationalists who want immigration levels substantially cut, citing immigration’s distortive effects on house prices (a severe problem in australia/nz right now), the economy and society.

they cant renege bc NZF has a spear to their back.

NZF are awesome. its actually great to listen to them talk about immigration bc they have coherent arguments and talk empirically about why its bad.
