  1. It’s bad that these people died (now up to eight). But if our commitment to diversity suffers, that will be far worse.

      • “Why would anyone want to keep working at that age, much less molesting students.”

When he goes to work, he’s treated with deference and respect. At home, it’s just his nagging wife.

Besides, it probably happens now and then that his advances are welcome. Maybe not so much any more at age 79, but academia has it’s own casting couch and a lot of young female graduate students are eager to flirt and more with established male professors in order to get a leg up on the competition. Having someone like this guy make a few calls on your behalf is like gold and could easily mean the difference between a tenure-track position at a respected university and adjuncting in Nowheresville U.

The popular narrative is that there is an epidemic of powerful men abusing their power to prey on unsuspecting young women. Which is partly true, but is only part of the story. There are also legions of young women taking advantage of their sex appeal to get opportunities out of established men. Women have been doing this for so many thousands of years that it’s probably in their DNA at this point.

I say this as a man who is a successful political activist. I regularly get approached by attractive young women looking for “advice” Why is it that young men never do this?

It wouldn’t surprise me at all to learn that the woman in this Columbia lawsuit took a much more active role in her relationship with this professor than is set forth in her legal filing.

And like this guy they cheat like crazy. They live longer because a) they were selected for marriage b/c they they have fitness qualities that contribute to long life; 2) some have nice wives; and 3) the ones that don’t cheat anyway so they are simply like adding single guys to the married sample.

      • “Studies show married men (I mean, heterosexually) live longer than any other demographic.”

That doesn’t really contradict my point. If you are a high-status man, e.g. an accomplished scholar, a prominent attorney, a respected judge, etc., it’s pretty gratifying to go in to work even ignoring the sexual opportunities.

By the way, it’s pretty likely that much of the effect you cite is due to selection. In fact, I remember reading that men who leave their wives for younger women live a good deal longer than men who stay married to the same girl. The obvious explanation for this is that a man needs to have his sh*t together to attract a girl who is a lot younger than him.

Last, I’ll just note my objection to the word “misogynist.” It’s true that I think women tend to be more childlike than men and should be accorded fewer political rights, but I don’t hate women any more than I hate children.

This is 2017 when almost every white person watches hour after hour of TV, which is an endless celebration of non-whites, and almost every white person has been indoctrinated in diversity at college or at diversity training on the job. This is a country and a society wholly dedicated to diversity, which means bending over backwards to protect the feelings of non-whites and excusing or ignoring the crimes of non-whites. Our whole society goes into convulsions when a white cop shoots a violent black criminal, and looks away when dozens or blacks kill another dozen blacks.

There will be no backlash against leftists or jihadis; we will be lucky if conservatives and libertarians aren’t thrown in prison for defending the freedom of speech and right to due process of people accused of being Nazis.

      • Whether they can or not, this one was neither constructed to be an empire nor are the two objectives by their nature mutually supportive.

Of course war goes hand in hand with American Democracy, as war does for all types of Democratic government.

The early Republic waged war to drive Indians out of the West, tried to annex Britain’s Canadian dominion in the War of 1812, and would have fought more wars to drive European powers out of Western North America if they hadn’t ceded much of it to us.

The Confederacy, if it had survived, would have waged wars of conquest in Latin America to expand slavery.

Opposing the warfare state is inimical to Republican values.

How many wars have the Swiss initiated. Jefferson envisioned a continent full of little Republics (States) stretching to the sea and composed of roughly 300-360K population each. In fact, he thought populations exceeding said numbers would make the state’s less capable as true republics. He further imagined that these small states would form their own unions constituting 3 or more across the continent. His view was characteristic of the early republican thinkers and the size and population concentrations needed for empire are antithetical to that.

      • How many wars have the Swiss initiated.

The Swiss are the only example of a neutral Republic that I can think of, but they are the exception to the rule.

Ancient Republics as well as later ones such as the small Italian crowned Republics of the Renaissance all happily waged war in their regions.

Jefferson envisioned a continent full of little Republics (States) stretching to the sea and composed of roughly 300-360K population each.

He also supported annexing Canada in the War of 1812.

This has nothing to do with whether warfare is a feature of Republican governments.

It also contradicts the fact Jefferson helped found the American Republic when it already had a population of over 4 million.

His view was characteristic of the early republican thinkers and the size and population concentrations needed for empire are antithetical to that.

Territorial expansion and rapid population growth was broadly supported by most if not all of the founders and by their pre-Civil War successors.

The Southern plantation class, who widely viewed themselves as the heirs to Jefferson, were very enthusiastic for the invasion and annexation of the Southwest.

Isolationism, not warfare, is the historical aberration among Republics such as the Confederate States of America.

    • Doesn’t this attack kind of point out how useless Trump’s approach has been so far? Uzbekistan is not one of the countries covered by the travel ban. The Trump administration has never questioned the diversity visa. Our involvement in Afghanistan keeps us dependent on horrible people like Karimov (President of Uzbekistan) for favors and logistical support.

The common thread among most of these attacks is that they are not committed by devout Muslims, they are almost always committed by people of Muslim backgrounds who grew up in fairly non-religious circumstances and then latched on to radical Islam in late adolescence/early adulthood to compensate for the fact that they are losers and beta males. Psychologically there isn’t much difference between radical Muslim terrorists and neo-Nazi murderers – both loser males trying to be part of something bigger.

We should just stop issuing visas to undereducated males with poor prospects in general. If that has a disproportionate effect on Muslims so be it.

Progs value diversity over safety. They would perhaps also see it as valuing kindness and openness over safety.

But treating safety as the prime value is not “common sense”. People who value safety above all else are generally shut-ins. We’d be more likely to categorize them as “mentally ill” than “rational”.

Maybe if death wasn’t inevitable, it would be rational to take all necessary measures to avoid death. But we’re all going to die, so we might as well do some worthwhile things in the meantime. Everyone makes decisions every day that value one thing or another over safety. 12. It occurs to me that all of our country’s institutions are unraveling at a rapid pace. There is a daily loss of faith in the mainstream media, Hollywood, the universities and the intelligence agencies. Within the last month, cultural mainstays like the NFL and The Boy Scouts have come undone. Mainline Protestant Churches are imploding. The common link with all of these controversies is that these organizations have been captured by the Left and now white, middle America is utterly rejecting them. They have become pozzed beyond all belief and they no longer represent the values of our founders. This can only bode well for the right, because once these institutions are abandoned or destroyed they will have to be rebuilt. It may take another generation, but we will win. We are in the throws of the fourth turning.

For the first time in my life, I thought, “you know, maybe it’s time to practice a little white solidarity.” (I have been noticing lately the many ways blacks practice solidarity in their ordinary lives.) So I gave the white guy some money. Maybe I’m typical in my dawning consciousness.

      • Giving to beggars makes sense in a traditional real community (even if geographically dispersed — beggars drifting from town to town, sleeping in the shul basements, always moving on to the next shul basement) –where begging is a recognized, rule-governed social role (these beggars were basically barely-functional autistics), …

but everyone knows that subway-beggars are druggies who don’t recognize your personality — they have nothing to do with you, no human relationship with you, and that works both ways.

If I were homeless I wouldn’t bother people on the subway; that’s a invasion of other people’s space, a bullying intrusion. I’d eat at soup kitchens and spend my days in the park or walking around or reading in the library.

  16. Nah, the right will lose because the right is blind to the technological and material reasons that societies change. The left is winning because technology makes a lot of masculine virtues technologically obsolete. Women don’t need men for heavy labor anymore, and birth control and modern medicine have freed women from most of the biological constraints that kept them from participating effectively in public life (not just pregnancy, but even small annoyances like menstruation, chronic UT infections, cramps, etc.). As traditional gender roles crumble under the pressure of technological change it is hardly surprising that homosexuality and trans-genderism can flourish. Moreover, in a world of easy mobility, easy communication, and English as the default language for the global elite, traditional nationalism probably doesn’t have much of a long term future either. Science has pretty much destroyed religion. I am not even talking about the theory of evolution. It is hard to see how you can learn physics and chemistry to any degree of competency and still take the Bible seriously (although some do). The left is just trying to ride the wave of technologically driven societal change, the right is frantically trying to build a dam (sorry, “a Wall”), but too late.

Not that everything favors the left. The idea of “equality” is certainly coming under pressure in a world where it is primarily cognitive skills that add value. In the 1930s it was plausible to argue that a white steel worker, a black share-cropper, a Jewish accountant and an Anglo-Saxon banker were all adding real value to the economy and that a socialist redistribution made some sense to balance out inequalities from the accountant and banker skimming too much off the top. But today? The steel worker and the share-cropper have been replaced by machines. Redistribution is just charity. The left has no answer to the problem of the redundant man, other than to keep importing more of them.

      • For many secularists, science exposes religion as a fairy tale. For some philosophers, science and religion deal with two different realms. But for the overwhelming majority of mankind there is no conflict between science and religion–primarily because of their complete ignorance of not only the findings of science but the scientific method as well.

Hardly. Blank Slate and Post-Modernism are both effective religions and science has to bow to them. Want to know why women get raped? It isn’t the urge to reproduce it’s The Patriarchy! Why do blacks underperform on tests? Not biological differences but Racism.

    • Traditional values are meant to keep a lid on the inherently unstable nature of society. That was the whole purpose of patriarchy. Left to their own devices women will destroy everything as is evidenced by their voting for liberal immigration policies and behavior in the dating market.

It’s true that technological progress does not favor traditional values, but nature has always been at odds with traditionalism. Arguably it is the very reason conservative traditions were developed to begin with (to constrain our darkest impulses).

You are correct that conservatives are bad at adopting to new technological trends, but then, this to, is their nature. The whole point of a traditionalist or a conservative is to conserve.

The problem is not in adaptation, but in shrewdly using these new elements to steer the ship into a sustainable direction.

Anglin promotes “White Sharia”. r/TheDonald uses “cuck” and “soy boy” as their primary slurs against their political opponents. And Roosh and the Manosphere have been increasingly highlighting the politics of their worldview. Culture could easily combat the tendencies of technology to emasculate. The problem is that the current elites promote a culture that does the exact opposite. But the right increasingly recognizes this and I see no reason why it can’t be defeated.

      • The Manosphere, Alt Right and Trump are not “conservative” by any standard a moral white Christian man in the 1950s would have recognized. They may well be the future, but they are not going to rebuild institutions like the Boy Scouts, the Episcopal Church or the NFL into the trusted beacons they once were. I don’t see either the left or right offering a path to a better society at the moment. The right is fighting a holding action that seems to benefit only the strongest and best connected. The left is fighting for radical change that will also, ironically, end up for the benefit of the strongest and best connected.

  18. Mostly nonsense.

The liberal freedoms that you see today were common to every society before it collapsed.

An increase in the influence of women in public life has often been associated with national decline. The later Romans complained that, although Rome ruled the world, women ruled Rome. In the tenth century, a similar tendency was observable in the Arab Empire, the women demanding admission to the professions hitherto monopolised by men. ‘What,’ wrote the contemporary historian, Ibn Bessam, ‘have the professions of clerk,tax-collector or preacher to do with women? These occupations have always been limited to men alone.’ Many women practised law, while others obtained posts as university professors. There was an agitation for the appointment of female judges, which, however, does not appear to have succeeded.

Soon after this period, government and public order collapsed, and foreign invaders overran the country. The resulting increase in confusion and violence made it unsafe for women to move unescorted in the streets, with the result that this feminist movement collapsed.

We are seeing the same process play out in the United States.

I noticed, with some annoyance, Molly Ringwald jumped on the victim bandwagon with an unwanted kiss, a single erection rub against her leg (there’s a name for this right?) while both were clothed and a director ordering her to wear a dog collar in a scene. They laugh at education. They are right. If I were younger, I would have to have my own company. There is simply no other choice. My son, for example, can’t put a nail into a wall, but has a construction company. Lol. Don’t forget that I only got into trades at 48. However, my grandkids, if they have aptitude, will be taught. At the end of the day it’s your genes and the life circumstances, you know. Businessmen are crooks though, my kids included. I would rather get dirty and spit at the world fixing stuff that everybody needs but not many want to touch.

This is funny. My grandson, who is 15, wants to be a computer programmer and simply can’t fathom why anyone would prefer HVAC. The kid is very handy, but has zero fascination with tools and getting dirty. So this is how it goes: a kid grows up a little and his personality takes control.
