Stephen Miller in the Washington Post

Read the article. But don’t read the commenters, they are full of hatred, and I would even consider many of them to be anti-Semitic.

This bit is interesting:

When Trump solicited Miller’s opinion on Bannon, Miller told the president that he believed Bannon was leaking to the media and that he would be doing much better without him, said two White House officials with knowledge of the incident.

We now know that Bannon was doing a lot of leaking, Miller was right. Apparently, Bannon and Miller didn’t get along very well even though they were both ideologically on the same team.

The good news here, and it’s really good news, is that Miller has the ear of Trump and he’s also tight with General Kelly because they both agree on immigration policy.

Also, if the shutdown continues for another six days, then Trump will be reading a State of the Union Address probably written by Miller.

  1. It’s notable that they (the sources for this story) are playing up Stephen Miller’s disagreements with the immigration restrictionists.

  2. You’re right, I shouldn’t have read the comments. I dunno, but I guess I expected Post commentators to be on par with NYT commentators, but I guess that’s not the case.

The article reinforced that I’m glad that Miller is where he is.

    • I read the comments too & gave up. But I don’t see any of them as anti-Semitic. They are just vile, to use a favorite word of Andrew Sullivan.

  3. What was the point of Bannon leaking? I dont disagree that it may have been happening but what was Bannon’s objective

    • His objective was to make Jarvanka look bad.

      • but was that accomplished? We dont know what leaks were his but the leaks from last year just made the WH look like chaos, and how does that further his goals.

      • Bannon got fired by the Mercers, so obviously Bannon overplayed his hand bigtime.

      • I still don’t know why we should believe that Bannon was the primary leaker. Miller could have just been saying what he knew Trump wanted to hear (or the quote could be fake or misleading). If Miller is smart I’m sure he realized that Trump’s family would always win out (which is a very poor reflection on Trump).

      • Miller says Bannon was a leaker.
The Mooch says that Bannon was a leaker.
Wolff says that Bannon was a leaker.
        Leaks stopped after Bannon left.

      • Trumps family winning out even when they are in the wrong is a positive sign. It means he is a true conservative in the real sense of the word with a functioning amygdala. Trucons like Cruz who would sell their family for muh constitution can’t be trusted.

      • Fire and Fury said everyone was a leaker, including Bannon. Bannon leaving coincided with Kelly taking over and Priebus leaving.

  7. Miller should get a hair transplant. I think he’d be much more effective and get better publicity if he did.

    • you should see videos of him in high school when he still had his hair, he was even more ugly then.

The guy is hideous but that’s okay. It actually adds to his mystique.

      • It’s not about judging him. It’s about making him more presentable and effective. Look at pictures of Elon Musk before his hair transplant. There’s no way Musk would have been as successful and popular without his hair transplant. Musk has been able to maintain his businesses without making a profit by being presentable and popular, which has propped up his stock prices. Without his hair transplant, he wouldn’t have all these fanboys and positive media coverage and he probably would have had to shut down some of his businesses already.

      • Musk has maintained his businesses because the deep state pays him to. He is a puppet.

      • I wouldn’t say he’s hideous. He’s a fairly average looking guy. His problem is that he’s extremely bald for his age. His face is youthful looking and it really clashes with his hairline. He could also use a few extra pounds. He looks a bit underweight.

  8. Well, if this is anything more than MSM lies, being tight with Kelly might not be the best look right now: https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2018/01/are-trump-and-kelly-heading-for-divorce

  9. These rumors about how X is the brains behind Trump seem to be as common as every other type of Trump trope. Perhaps the truth is as incredible as it seems. He really is his own man and he is running the show as best he can. Seems like every time “another brains behind Trump” type leaves, everything continues to function. More often than not, better.

  10. Miller — who declined requests for an on-the-record interview

WaPo doing their best to (almost certainly falsely) imply that Miller agreed to give an off-the-record interview, i.e. that he’s a leaker.

WaPo are scum. Devious scum, I’ll grant them.
