Orthodox Jews love the Mooch!

http://www.mcclatchydc.com/news/politics-government/article202269979.html

“Anthony Scaramucci is not just a friend of Israel and the Jewish People but a Great Friend of Israel and the Jewish People,” emailed Joseph Frager, vice president of public policy at the Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce, an organization that focuses on both business and public affairs, especially in the Jewish world.

According to Matt Brooks, executive director of the Republican Jewish Coalition, “He’s an Italian guy through and through, but he’s got a Jewish soul.”

  2. Huh?

But then Guidos share a commonality with Jews — they aren’t WASP like the Irish, and are still perceived as “nonwhite”. Jews are more WASP than the WASPs in terms of wealth and status, but aren’t WASPs from a behavioral standpoint.

    • JS, you know I like and respect you, but sometimes you just don’t know what you’re talking about. The Irish are not :Wasp” in any way. Most Irish-Americans are Roman Catholic. That alone makes a big difference. The Irish and Anglo-Saxons have always had animosity between then, even in the old countries. And IAs are not perceived as non-white or there would not have been such a high rate of intermarriage with the other Catholic ethnics as far back as the 1930’s. Where are you getting this from? White supremacy websites? Those people are not representative of Northern European Americans. I think you’re referring to status, not ethnicity. And even then, status among a certain type of person.

      • Despite the animosity the WASPs had towards the Irish, they had a lot more in common both culturally and physically with the Irish than the Jews and Italians, hence the Irish were able to assimilate and become accepted into WASP society, because “they look like them”, among a sea of blacks, Asians, Jews and Southern Europeans who were more distant from the Anglo Saxons. America was always about tribal affiliations in terms of race then culture and the Irish had both in their favor, despite being mistreated by them.

      • The Irish by definition aren’t and cannot be WASPs. Even Jews are WASPier than the Irish. At Harvard, there were 7 students in St. Paul’s Catholic Club in 1911, compared to 20 students in the Menorah Society in 1906.

Catholics in general can’t be WASPs, other than ex-Episcopalian converts (e.g. Oscar Wilde) and maybe descendants of Maryland Colony’s founders. Otherwise, the WASPiest Catholics are French-Canadians and Germans.

      • The term “WASP” is synonymous with American elitism, and not religion. The Irish were able to remove their shackles from being indentured servants to freemen within a generation who could move up the ranks quickly in American society, because 1) Irish were almost physically indistinguishable from the Anglos, and 2) culturally or what one calls HBD, the Irish were quite compatible with the Anglos from a disposition (or temperament) viewpoint.

Jews had to work very hard to attain their elite status, because they were the opposite of the Irish.

Italians have never attained the elite status granted to the Irish, who had the physical and temperamental makeup, or the Jews, who used their brainpower to rise up to the ranks.

      • “At Harvard, there were 7 students in St. Paul’s Catholic Club in 1911, compared to 20 students in the Menorah Society in 1906”

The Irish immigrants were the lowest of the low in terms of education from the Old World, but they moved up quickly, because of their similar phenotype and disposition with the Anglo Saxons. You can’t compare them to the acculturated German Jews who came to the US in the 19th century, who were already elites in their own right.

Now, a good comparison with the Irish would be the Eastern European Jews who came to America in the early 20th century. Less educated and poor, they strove for success like today’s Asiatics. But unlike the Irish, Eastern European Jews were very different in mannerism from the Anglo mainstream. They were seen as loud and surly.

    • JS are you serious? If you are jewish (don’t know) then maybe you don’t understand the dynamic between anglicans and catholics. Anglicans despise catholics. My husband had to literally renounce the catholic church to marry me. When we enrolled the kids in catholic school my mother was horrified. Every time she enters the school she acts like she’s doing everyone a favor and wants to jump in the shower afterwards. It’s even worse in england- at least, it was in the late 1990s when I was last there.

So if this is how a ‘liberal’ modern american anglican woman views catholics imagine how it was 50, 100, 200 years ago. Watch ‘gunpowder’ to get an idea what I’m talking about.

February 27, 2018 at EST pm

      • Because facts. There will be major demographic changes in the US that will not be favorable to Israel. The Millenials won’t give a flying eff about Israel. Europe is completely hostile even w/o going Muslim, which it is, bit by bit. So Israel will have to go begging to China or Russia, neither of which want this thorn in their side. That most certainly includes Russia, no matter what some say.

Israel is stronger than Iran, and if they truly wanted to take it to Hizbollah, they could. A lot of alt-right keyboard jockeys who hate Israel gleefully point to 2006, but that’s meaningless. The Israelis just didn’t have their hearts in it. It’s meaningless… but even if they did, the cost of squashing Hizbollah would be ruinous.

Think of the ’73 war. The country’s economy was brought to a standstill and was rescued by the US. That was before Israelis had a high standard of living, and everything was globalized. Stop Israel’s economy in its tracks for a week and the country would evaporate.

        That’s why.

      • @gothamette
I disagree with your assessment because–inspite of sometimes extraordinary challenges–Jews have proven themselves to be canny survivors. Regarding the alt-right, my strong sense is that most people within it don’t just like Israel, but absolutely adore it, I certainly do. Israel’s ability to fight Islamic supremacism head-on has been awe inspiring. The point being that whatever fissures existed between Jews and Europeans historically, they must be set aside so Jews and Europeans can deal with their common enemy, Islam. Europe keeps on tilting rightward by the month (hopefully more of this to come during this weekend’s Italian election) and Israel should not stand in the way of this momentum. On this note Poland passed a law this month making it a punishable offense to publicly invoke Poland’s complicity in the holocaust and Israel right on cue chastised Poland for doing so. But, and this is very important, such division only serves those who wish to see Israel suffer. You made a good point about American millennials feeling indifferent to the plight of Israel, but truthfully millennials don’t much care about Europe being over run by migrants either. Places like Israel and Poland have to look out for themselves in a hostile world and as such it would be better for them to cooperate among themselves.

  4. What’s your point, Lion? As Karl Marx had said: Capital has no nationality. And I may add: ‘and no religion’. Gentile isn’t allowed to make that blessing, so I don’t know how he was honored with saying it, unless they omitted the words that he isn’t allowed to say, which very well could have been. It’s just business, it’s no big deal, a total non event. So I don’t know what you are posting here.

    • In the context it just means that he is very useful to this particular group and they want to say that he is like one if them to make him feel good. Nothing profound. All this is completely unnecessary, I mean there is no need to tell all this to gentiles and honor them with saying Jewish blessings and wearing a yarmulke. This is just very stupid on all accounts: religion has nothing to do with business, gentiles are not required to wear a yarmulke anywhere, synagogues and Temple included, Gentiles are forbidden to say the blessing in their standard format. Why can’t people just socialize and do business without bringing religion into it and making a nuisance out of it? That’s what I do.

  6. I like the Mooch, but let’s face it – he’s a bit of an operator. He’s kissing up to Jews because he knows what side is Challah is buttered on – if you know what I mean. He did a bit of this behavior when he visited Liberty University. He accidentally referred to Jerry Falwell Jr. as “Reverend” (Junior is a lawyer and head of the university but not a minister.) When this was pointed out to him delicately, he claimed that he needed a minister and that he could find one on campus.

However, Mooch’s 3 books are worth reading. I bought all 3, as well as all the books he recommends in them. And I believe that he’s back with his wife again, which means his two young sons will grow up in an intact family. Mooch gets my respect for this.

    • Jews, Italians and other Southern Europeans share certain cultural commonalties. Southern Europeans might have mistreated the Jews, but the experience wasn’t the same as Northern and Eastern Europe.

Italian Jews were quite assimilated into Italian society, so were Greek Jews. The Spanish Inquisition was promulgated by fellow Jewish Conversos, not Spain’s Old Christians.

  7. WASP is a misnomer created by left ignoramuses and outsiders looking in trying to stir up trouble. They despise Anglo-Saxons and Normans, just have long since assimilated them. The US patrician is Iberoceltic-Italic. Several when you get to know them claim lines back to Rome-Troy and old Galicia, and back to Scythia/North Himalayas.

Jews allied with Rome early so get a pass, but they treat them as the well-behaved and semi-assimilated Asian help, an offshoot gone wrong of the Iberians, helpful in keeping an eye on their less genetically fortunate relatives. Quote-unquote.

Damn amazing what you pick up informally auditing courses and getting drunk with their kids at Colorado, Middlebury, and Oberlin where they send the family also-rans too smart/comfortable for Harvard ( a stint in Salamanca or Harvard Extension is also a favorite).

Marx had it all wrong. He thinks the ‘upper classes’ have the money. They are the money.

Later Rome came in or some would say invited in by the rivalling factions within the Hashnonaic house and the relationship started to deteriorate but for quite some time it was very good.
