Mass shooting at Maryland newspaper

1. Beta-male rage?
2. Disgruntled employee?
3. Right-wing nut pissed off at all of the Trump hate?
4. Islamic terrorism? (It happened in France.)
5. Some guy with schizophrenia?

UPDATE

Suspect is a white male in his 20s without identification and who won’t tell police his identity. This is new! (But “white” could mean a lot of things. Once upon a time, the media thought George Zimmerman was white.)

UPDATE 2

SJWs and libtards on Twitter have already been busy blaming Trump and conservatives for the shooting, without knowing any facts at all.

UPDATE 3

5 dead, “several” others “gravely” injured.

UPDATE 7:07 PM

The only additional fact I can find is that the shooter shaved off his fingerprints, so law enforcement is unable to identify him by his fingerprints.

I don’t understand the stupidity of law enforcement here. Why not release his picture, he’d then be identified pretty quickly.

BIG UPDATE

BREAKING / NBC News: A 39 year old white male has been positively identified through the use of facial recognition software as the shooter at a newspaper in Annapolis, authorities say.

A court authorized search of the suspect’s home is underway. Reported with @jonathan4ny

    • The only way the shooter is a female is if it’s Islamic terrorism.

      • Journalists are pretty disgruntled, and many are female. Think of that Prof who got denied tenure. But no matter what the motive, it’s almost always the guys.

Hope it’s not a Trump guy. Very weird to shoot up a newspaper, especially something stupid like Annapolis Gazette? What manner of sad elderly loner is flipping through that every morning?

I’ve never heard of this paper. Someone politically motivated would go after a more famous paper like the New York Times or WaPo, which is nearby in DC.

Could well be a psycho with no political agenda.

Watch the House Democrats’ fearful reaction to the House Committee’s questioning, not the boneheads on Reset.

Rosenstein is about to give Trump a perfect excuse to fire him after the Republicans vote to either impeach Rosenstein or hold him in contempt.

  5. White male makes Islamic terrorism less likely. If police cannot identify the suspect, I think that makes disgruntled employee unlikely, since he would have been recognized by surviving employees.

if the guy was politically motivated he could’ve picked a bigger target

    Jason Liu

June 28, 2018 at EDT pm

    • Bigger targets have big security. You can’t just walk I to the Washington Post. Little papers often operate out of storefront offices. They don’t even have unarmed security guards.

My guess is the guy had an account to grind over a local issue.

He didn’t get inside this building but had to fire at the windows.

He could have picked off at least as many at the Washington Post if had fired at the windows or waited for 5 pm nearby the parking lot when employees head home for the day.

  7. I’m guessing it’s a disgruntled employee. However, perp is described as being in his 20s, so this means he would have worked at paper for only a short time. How disgruntled can you get for being laid off from a local paper?

    GMR

June 28, 2018 at EDT pm

  8. Okay. I am well aware that early reports are often wrong or at least incomplete. Nonetheless, if they are to be believed, the shooter (a) used a shotgun and (b) fired a large number of rounds.
I know shotguns pretty well. One thing about them is that they have relatively limited shell capacities. Typically, a pump or semiautomatic holds six rounds in the magazine tube and one in the chamber, for a total of seven. Reloading a shotgun is a relatively slow process, as very few of them have AR-style detachable magazines.
So, why did no one rush the attacker when he was reloading?

  9. I will not mourn for people who were promoting white genocide. If the shooter is a Trump supporter, I will not condemn.

I’m not endorsing violence, but we are in a war and it is inevitable. When people promote white genocide eventually some whites are going to snap and fight back.

  10. Since no one at the workplace recognized him, likely not disgruntled employee.

WSJ says he fired through the glass door.

    Frau Katze

June 28, 2018 at EDT pm

    • Also, since he performed fingerprint mutilation to avoid detection, it presumably rules out that he was disgruntled, or had an ex working there (though it is possible that he’s completely crazy). In all likelihood, he’s a stranger.

      Vince

      • Maybe they banned him from posting.

June 28, 2018 at EDT pm

      • The fingerprint business does show foresight. But by now the employees would have recognized him if he had been a disgruntled employee, the most likely scenario. Total crazies and Islamic terrorists would likely have picked a more high profile location. Possibilities narrowing.

“If you’re on Facebook, you’ve probably gotten a friend request or message
from an old high school classmate you didn’t quite remember.
“For one woman, that experience turned into a yearlong nightmare.
“Out of the blue, Jarrod Ramos wrote and thanked her for being the only
person ever to say hello or be nice to him in school.
“She didn’t remember him, so he sent pictures. She Googled him, found a
yearbook picture and realized they apparently did go to Arundel High
    together.
    — Unreported Opinion —
“He was having some problems, so she wrote back and tried to help,
    suggesting a counseling center.
“‘I just thought I was being friendly,’ she said.
“That sparked months of emails in which Ramos alternately asked for help,
called her vulgar names and told her to kill herself. He emailed her company
and tried to get her fired.
“She stopped writing back and told him to stop, but he continued. When she
blocked him from seeing her Facebook page, he found things she wrote on
other people’s pages and taunted her with it, attaching screenshots of the
postings to some of his emails.
“She called police, and for months he stopped. But then he started again,
    nastier than ever.
“All this without having seen her in person since high school. They never met
until they came to court a couple of months ago.
“Last week, Ramos, a 31-year-old federal employee, pleaded guilty in District
Court to a misdemeanor harassment charge.

  22. Jordan Peterson discusses how the Foucaldian push for deinstitutionalization has wrecked society. The left treats people as disposable swords. To be discarded when they rust, but we’ve known this since the murder or 100 million innocents in the 20th century.
