Kavanaugh’s America First originalism

https://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2018/07/06/kavanaugh_the_right_pick_for_trump_137446.html

Excellent article explaining why Brett Kavanaugh is the best choice. Especially notable is his anti-immigrant dissenting opinion.

I am pretty sure that, unlike Kethledge, Kavanaugh wouldn’t have gone out of the way to give standing to some guy from India who was in the country illegally because his visa had expired.

* * *

And I am almost sure that Barrett would turn out to be biased in favor of open borders. She has no track record at all in this area. The religious cult she belongs to supports adopting kids from foreign countries, and goes out of the way to emphasize that they are neither Democratic nor Republican. I predict that she would be a huge cuck on immigration, she would be trying to show liberals how anti-abortion religious people are very compassionate for the less fortunate people from other countries.

  1. Why is it that libs NEVER have to worry about their nominees fucking them down the line but conservatives ALWAYS do? As for Bennett, women are more emotional and susceptible to peer pressure, so yeah, best to look elsewhere.

    • “Why is it that libs NEVER have to worry about their nominees fucking them down the line but conservatives ALWAYS do?”

Because liberals control the the mainstream media and the universities and they pull everyone and every organization into being more liberal.

      • “pull” isn’t strong enough. they discriminate against those who won’t be sheep. they are themselves sheep. this is why trump will keep winning. wolves eat sheep.

      • No, it’s because modern life is simply liberalism inducing. A sensible friend recently emailed me about a friend of her son’s who is going for gender reassignment surgery. This person will then be referred to as “they” and will not identify with either sex. Then I recently learned that a young person of my acquaintance is married to a transgender man! The world is just going nuts and it takes a certain kind of ornery personality (or perhaps isolated and anti-social, LOL) to resist it.

        Anyway, more good news.

When it comes to menial tasks, Latinos are superb workers, better than blacks and much better than any prole or Euro immigrant with a shameful attitude that Whites are doing de-facto, low status work that non-whites enjoy doing.

Not ironic at all, I think Trump sees himself as a friend of black Americans, and understands that immigration restrictions are good for blacks. The irony is that Trump’s dependency on the core base of 15-20% of American whites that hate blacks makes it almost impossible for Trump to get that message out to blacks and be taken seriously.

    • Because liberal judges are not bound by legal precedent, intent of the law, and constitutionality. They are free to rule according to whether or not they approve of the law. It’s essentially an executive veto. Their written opinions are just window dressing. Conservative judges are far more likely to rule in favor of a law they personally disapprove of.

  2. The RCC isn’t a cult. Catholics don’t push feminism, abortion, the rest of the degeneracy in America. People here keep yacking about the Catholic Ted Kennedy and the 1965 immigration act. Remember, that bill was overwhelmingly passed by White Protestant men. American Catholics exist in the same milieu everyone else does. If the RCC itself was the problem then Poland would be overflowing with Afros and Muslims.

The rest of the piece where they string a series of remote similarities to a novel together to make dark suggestions about the group shows why people correctly hate the press.

The same press that can’t connect today’s Antifa to 1920-30s German Antifa can nevertheless connect this nominee to a novel simply because of the presence of female mentors.

When the Irish had no country the RCC was the vehicle for nationalism, but when they got their country it faded, and the scandals helped to sink it. The same might happen in Poland, although not with the same force.

Poland in fact has one of the world’s very lowest fertility rates, which means (in Mary Eberstadt’s way of looking at the problem) that it is losing its religion. President Trump’s speech was magnificent, but it brings to mind Schiller’s dictum that history brought forth a great moment, but the moment encountered a mediocre people. Among other reasons, the US is running out of whites. Why is the US running out of whites? Easy- birth control, abortion (the latter to a lesser extent). But Barrett has no record to judge whether she would be Conservative on anything (except abortion) aside from negative statements about Roe and that she clerked for Scalia.

Also, it’s unlikely that Roberts would vote to strike down Roe. At best he would modify it to give states slightly more regulatory power over abortion. So even if Barrett wants to take down Roe, Roberts would water down any decision.

With Roberts being the new median, in practice anti-abortion Republicans are no more likely to get Roe overturned now matter whether the seat is taken by Barrett, Kethledge, or Kavanaugh.

      • America was already an ugly country lined up with atrocious architectural design in the 1950s.

These were built in the 1950s as an urban renewal project for working class whites.

      • Actually before the early 1960s there was still a lot of traditional architecture in inner cities with sidewalks, parks and open air plazas. I should find the pictures from 1940s Chicago I was just looking at recently. Really picturesque with children playing in the streets and beautiful landscaping. Of course, all of that again requires high-trust/commonweal orientation (and the decline in these traits aren’t simply the result of black/NAM violence.)
