  1. I don’t think they are banning World of Warcraft bloggers

  2. Roosh is PUA gaming guy who allegedly harassed a couple of women in the French Canadian province.

You aren’t of the same category. Roosh is also somewhat on the low brow side of things in terms of life. In other words, things that make proles tick.

    • Roosh was in Quebec to give a seminar on seduction, he didn’t harass any women while here, he did however—according to video circulated on YouTube—appear to be harassed by angry feminists while in the country.

      • Seduction? At least in the pic in this article, he’s disgusting looking. Women actually sleep with him?

He looks like a combination of yeti and hypotonic college professor.

      • “Seduction? At least in the pic in this article, he’s disgusting looking. Women actually sleep with him?”

I don’t think Roosh is a great example of PUA, but kind of the whole point is that making women attracted to you is a learnable skill rather than just a function of your appearance or other superficial metric.

      • @toomanymuce

Fair enough, I’m not really too keen on defending this guy, I like old fashioned chivalry myself and Roosh is like a stunted frat boy and can seem obnoxious at times. But having said that, we’re on very slippery grounds if we start banning people from countries for being obnoxious.

      • Men who go gaming feel as if seduction is only about game and the not natural tendency of female attraction.

      • “At least in the pic in this article, he’s disgusting looking. Women actually sleep with him?”

To hear him tell it, the answer is yes. Of course it’s likely that he exaggerates his success. But at the same time, it seems pretty clear that female perception of male attractiveness can vary quite a bit based on the context — the man’s perceived wealth, social status, demeanor, etc.

As I recall, there was an experiment where women were asked to rate men’s looks based on a photograph which also included biographical information about the man. If the man had a high status high earning job, the women would rate his looks significantly higher.

So I would suggest to you that your negative perception of his looks has been colored by your knowledge that he’s an international sleazeball.

    • Wiki says people tried but failed to get Canada to deny him entrance. But the place where he was going to speak cancelled. I’m not even sure I’d believe an accusation of harassment in today’s overheated atmosphere.

I have heard of him but I don’t know much about him.

Wiki lists no marriages (born 1979 in the US) and I don’t know why he’s considered an authority on picking up women. I wouldn’t call him good-looking but I’ve seen worse.

A rather odd guy but Wiki lists no crimes or even accusations.

But Wikis on controversial people are often inaccurate. He doesn’t get in the news much. We’d be hearing about fresh accusations.

      • I know all about him. He lives in the basement of his mom’s townhouse in in a Maryland suburb of D.C., that is when he’s not touring Europe raising his ‘high score’. He also runs a website and is trying to make a living as a PUA instructor so that he doesn’t have to get a real job. At the same time he constantly laments about the decline of traditional society, and how women are too loose.

It’s like Jordan Peterson said in his last Rogan interview. Men who do pickup too long get cynical.

      • ” trying to make a living as a PUA instructor so that he doesn’t have to get a real job”

That’s understandable, being self employed beats having a “real job,” especially if you’re not going to work in investment banking or upper corporate management.

July 12, 2018 at EDT am

      • “He lives in the basement of his mom’s townhouse in in a Maryland suburb of D.C.”

Then what the hell’s the point of being a pickup artist? You might as well use your social acumen to make a living (self-employed or not, it doesn’t matter) where you can afford your own place. Go into sales or some other line of work where you can charm people into doing business with you.

Oh, I’m sorry. I keep forgetting. A man’s worth is solely a function of how many women he scores with, and how hot they are. So don’t go college, don’t learn a skill. Just be a PUA and once you’ve spread your seed, your life’s mission is complete.

If it was up to Roosh, we’d be living in a world like “The Handmaid’s Tale,” except dudes would be wearing this bonnets.

      • “A man’s worth is solely a function of how many women he scores with, and how hot they are.”

Thus MGTOW is superior to PUA, the former don’t get their self-worth from women.

        Lion of the Blogosphere

July 12, 2018 at EDT pm

      • Lion, did you conclude from my post that I consider MGTOW superior to PUA?

If so, please allow me to clarify.

I don’t consider either to be superior. What I’m saying is that a man is more than his gene spreading or his sexual conquests. A man is many things. If he chooses to devote his life to that and to keep his economic/career activity minimal, I do not judge him to be a slacker or a layabout. If he chooses to concentrate on his career and establishing financial security before pursuing romantic goals, I do not judge him to be a beta cuck.

You know, maybe I shouldn’t have posted at all. Roosh wants to live with his mom and score hot chicks, let him. He’s not me. And the more I post comments on this and other blogs, the more I dislike myself for making judgments about people I don’t know.

So to the readership of this blog: do the fuck what makes you happy. You wanna eat at McDonald’s, fly the flag, and watch “Walking Dead”? Do that. You wanna eat kale salad, read Franzen novels, and drink craft beer? Do that. Just don’t break promises or initiate aggression.

And now someone’s gonna say “Don’t be an autistic libertarian. People who eat at McDonald’s do aggress against me by making me pay their open-heart surgery bills.” Well, guess what. That’s the price you pay for living in a nation. We have each other’s backs and, where possible, counsel against harmful ways. You think the human race should go back to living in tribes of no more than 150? Well, I wouldn’t hold your breath for that to be the case any time soon.

It’s tough enough to keep this human experiment going just with the male/female friction. Now we gotta add all these bullshit, made-up frictions: SWPL/prole, Chad/incel, hipster/mainstream, MGTOW/PUA.

Take care of each other, and take care of yourselves.

        Thank you.

      • I’m inviting him to my wedding in September (it’s in Nassau county on a Sunday).

The right is basically more loyal and trustworthy than the left. The right does tend to purge serious offenders from their own ranks, which the left does not. If Timothy McVeigh had escaped to South America, he wouldn’t be able to come back now and have a cushy job waiting for him.

On the other hand, you don’t see a whole lot of the right eating itself. You see this endlessly on the left. Bernie Sanders worked for CORE and SNCC in the 60s, and BLM disrupted his rallies 50 years later because he was born with the wrong skin color. Al Franken was a reliable and effective left wing standard bearer, and women who voted for him #metoo’d him so they could get attention. The BDS Movement is led by Arabs with shady ties to terrorism, but a major base of support comes from well off secular Jews living in the West.

People who are motivated by loyalty and self-respect act differently than people who are motivated by spite and envy.

  4. In spite of it’s storied history for tolerance, the UK has turned into one hell of a cencorious place. I suspect future generations of Brits will look back at the present period in disgust. Remember it was only last month that Tommy Robinson was arrested, sentenced and imprsoned (all in the space of a few hours) for the egregious act of live streaming outside of a courthouse where a Muslim gang members were being tried for sexually molesting children and then physically intimidating their families if they spoke out.

Amongst his many supporters, it is widely believed that his life is in dangers because British jails are chock full of Muslims and Tommy is a well known figure who’s despised by the Muslim community. Left wing types would likely be thrilled if Tommy ended up dying behind bars.

Let’s hope they expand this policy quickly to all sexually predatory foreigners.

        Curle

July 11, 2018 at EDT pm

      • @Curle I don’t think he’s a practioner of any religion. Wiki says his parents were of Iranian and Armenian background.

(There are a lot of Armenians in Iran and even the Ayatollahs leave them alone. There’s some ancient connection between the two groups. Armenian is full of Persian loan words. To this day, they are friendly with the nation of Armenia, who is currently occupying a fairly sizeable chunk of land grabbed from Muslim Azerbaijan in the wake of the breakup of the USSR).

His given name, Daryush, is an ancient pre-Islamic name. No believing Muslims would give their son such a name. If he later became a religious Muslim on his own accord, he’d definitely change it.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the economic impact of this fiasco was $50k or more.

Probably they should have simply detained and deported him back to Iceland, assuming for the sake of argument that there’s a legitimate reason to exclude him from the UK. Which is a different question.

So far the settler colonies (US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand) have avoided this.

Plus the early US breakaway giving you a written constitution has had a huge influence. But now the NYT is having second thoughts on free speech. So far the US is holding the line. But it may not keep up if your population becomes like Brazil.

Maybe because the UK is so small geographically but has 100 million population means the people live too close together.

I doubt free speech will last that long. The left has dropped interest in free speech years ago. When Hillary declared her Presidential run, her first campaign promise was to support an amendment to the Constitution to amend the First Amendment to regulate political speech. And I remember journalist Joe Klein wanting Sarah Palin arrested for “sedition.”

Once they are back on power again, we’re going to see serious curtailments in previous US freedoms on free speech.

    • That’s about accurate. All of his controversial positions were always ploys to sell more ebooks. He wagered on the “any publicity is good publicity” approach to his business. He likes to play edgelord, but in reality would be hurt by the type of further Right politics he courts; being a Turkish looking person with a foreigner’s name. Register the irony, alone, in at once advocating for tradition and advocating for a PUA approach to life. He courts the Far Right but in practice has trouble walking that fine line in moderating his forum.

I’d imagine that the ebook sales are slow these days, but he will continue to realize the negative results of his approach for the rest of his life. It was a pretty poor wager on his part. I reckon that he knows that. Whenever his name appears, I always find myself wondering where 65-70 year old Roosh will be in life.

      Sam

    • He has very much become the latter in recent years writing a lot more about the importance of family and with a lot of honest reflection about choices he regrets in his own life. His site has also become overtly political over the past two years. Doesn’t write much about PUA at all anymore really. ReturnofKings has become a straight up Right Wing political/cultural magazine with an emphasis on the war on masculinity. This, incidentally, is why he was banned from the UK. They never bothered him during the year he was writing sleazy PUA articles. It was only when he started talking about the migration crisis in Europe and toxic feminism that he earned a ban from the UK (which has now banned a disturbing number of Conservative journalists from its shores).

    • I think more needs to be written about PUA burnout. Is it that meaningless sex gets . . .meaningless after a while? Or perhaps all those STDs take a toll on your health. Or perhaps the PUA game gets harder and harder every year when you hit middle age.

      fortaleza84

July 12, 2018 at EDT am

      • Any successful pickup goes through a series of predictable stages. The early part is the most difficult and takes the most work. You have to do many approaches before you get good at it, and even after you get good, the early stages are still the hardest every time. The best advice is to treat it like a job. Block out a significant amount of time every week, and go to work.

Once you’ve completed the first stages of a pickup, you enter the middle stages, which are called “comfort”. At this point you’re over the big hill, and mostly coasting on momentum. Yes, you’re still working your game, but now it’s easy (which is why there’s so little written about the “comfort” stage).

The last stages involve crossing the proverbial finish line. The ease of the last stages depends largely on how well you’ve done in the prior stages. When you’ve really done the prior stages well, the last stages happen without you pushing the timetable. I think that’s where Roosh is getting hung up. He wants to marry a woman who gave him more resistance in the late stages, and above all, he wants to marry one who made him wait longer.

Some choke on the Red Pill before they can swallow it, in large part because the truth of what men and women are like is too unpleasant for them, and they can’t adapt. Roosh having swallowed the red pill long ago is circling back to the same problem. He believes he’d be happier if society erected barriers that interfered with what he’s doing now.

He’s actually requesting that society shuts his game down… just not in the way that they’re trying to shut it down.

        MoreSigmasThanYou

July 12, 2018 at EDT am

      • There’s no evidence the game gets harder as you age (if anything it gets easier like most experience-based skills as long as you keep practicing it). But there is still burnout from just lower energy levels and competing priorities. The modal dude in his 50’s whose libido is leveling out and who’s already had his share of women is unlikely to have much of an incentive to go out 5 nights a week. Owen and some of the RSD guys somehow pull it off but he is a health nut with Trump-like energy levels and he has the incentive that it’s basically his job/brand. But it has definitely been discussed. Like most life stages (work, raising kids, etc.) it’s best to have an exit strategy from PUA so you’re not stuck miserable at age 80.

        Jokah Macpherson

July 12, 2018 at EDT pm

      • 90% of PUA material, of that which anyone pays any attention to, is built around being functionally attractive for women in general. This allows these guys to acquire and maintain monogamous relationships. Very few are actually going out and racking up “notches”. Many, however, go on to get girlfriends and wives. That’s my perception of it, anyway.

      • The STDs in pre-antibiotics days were wicked. Syphilis in later stages can get into the brain. I’ve read more than one historical account of some fairly high status men going insane from this. An earlier version of Roosh would definitely be a candidate.

        Wiki says:

“Neurosyphilis is an infection of the brain or spinal cord caused by the spirochete Treponema pallidum. It usually occurs in people who have had chronic, untreated syphilis, usually about 10 to 20 years after first infection[1] and develops in about 25%–40% of persons who are not treated.[2] The United States’ Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) advises that neurosyphilis can occur at any stage of a syphilis infection.[3]”

Of course, now there’s AIDS, but I don’t think it easily transmitted from women to men.

      • Jokah and fortaleza,

That depends on how much you age. Being middle aged is fine. If you’re so old that you’ve become feeble, it won’t work. The maximum age for someone to:
        * Play a male romantic lead
        * Intimidate teenage boys into good behavior with your presence
        * Be a successful PUA
        are all basically the same.

If you want a real feel for how old is too old, look at what Hollywood actors looked like in their last movie where they got to have a love interest. They go from having love interests in movies, to no love interest, to doing voice work.

Men get to play that role longer than women, but they don’t get to play it forever. Sean Connery might be the record holder, almost making it to 70. If Christopher Lee weren’t type cast as a villain, I think he could have beaten Connery. These are not average men. An average man loses it well before 70. 50s is probably right. Roosh with a gray streak in his beard has not lost it yet.

What’s this other 10% I haven’t heard of? If we’re talking about the stuff for dealing with a relationship after you’re past S3, I’d say that’s way less than 10% by volume.

The way I’ve seen people in the community describe it is like this: Men are either inclined to seek ‘notches’, or ‘the one’. The way you get to either goal is with the exact same skill set and behaviors.

From the standpoint of the coaches, this is a problem because some students try to get ‘the one’ without playing the game to get ‘notches’, and therefore don’t build the required skill for when ‘the one’ comes along. Also there’s a high rate of churn in the community because frequently a student succeeds in creating a stable relationship, and then chooses to drop out of the community entirely to spends time with his new family.

My understanding is that in the 4th Indiana Jones movie, the female lead considers both Harrison Ford’s character, and male lead playing his son, and concludes that the older one is more attractive. IMDB says that there will be a 5th Indiana Jones movie.

If Ford gets the same attention in the new movie (scheduled to be released when he’s 79), he should be considered the record holder.

      • MoreSigmasthanYou,

The other 10% tends to be the legacy detritus from the ‘early days’ which tended to imply that you were essentially going to be able to use some words, like a magic fuck key, to unlock a woman’s desire to ride a struggling beta that she just met that night.

I don’t know what “S3” is. The basics of interacting with women don’t change, whether single or married or 18 or 80. My grandfather kept my grandmother in love with him until he died using the same natural’s approach that had most women charmed by him, and that any modern 20 something cad would kill for if he were smart.

It is true that non-natural’s require a good deal of irl trial and error to learn. Though, most of the useful learning will come from relationships. Getting a girl from a bar to come home requires a comparatively trivial skillset, given enough interaction opportunity and a certain minimum social skillset that most men should have by age twenty five at maximum. Hold eye contact, a sly smile, make conversation that does not center on her life, and a minimum amount of kino. The difficult part of female / male interaction isn’t creating that illusion / fleeting desire, but in being consistent enough of a master of her psychology that she doesn’t immediately lose attraction for you within the span of a couple of later sober interactions.

I don’t consider theirs a true community. All guys want to get laid. The “community” is more or less made up of guys who merely discuss how to improve those odds. It would be like calling a group who wanted cheaper high quality food a community. All people want that. Guys withdrawing from the conversation should, most of the time, be counted as probable successes and their withdrawal thought of as a positive thing. There is nothing more pathetic that a guy who can’t figure it out after a few years and who is thus stuck spending his life on PUA forums.

      • PUA techniques are largely re-purposed sales techniques and everybody knows that sales isn’t a job for everybody – most salesmen reach a burnout phase and/or come to actively hate the people they’re selling to.
PUAs who want to disengage can’t stop seeing women as marks which prevents any kind of meaningful emotional relationship.

      • cliff,

Yes. There are so many insightful posts here, and yours is one of them.

After a great deal of reflection, I’ve come to the conclusion that a number of the techniques leverage aspects of women’s emotions which look very much like character flaws. For example, preselection and jealousy plotlines relate to the propensity for mate stealing. While all women are susceptible to game, I believe that the ones who react best to the more extreme game are also the ones who make the worst long term partners.

One of the best pieces of advice that a coach gave me was to: Pick a type of woman, and then tailor everything in your approach to that type. The type should probably be whatever type interests you the most. As it turns out, my type reacts best the most toned down game. This works out well because, I don’t need to develop my game as much, my congruity is better, the woman is easier to respect, and I can get one who is marriage material. That being said, there are some serious non-game minimum standards that my type absolutely demands. Fortunately, with the exception of one personal grooming change, I already met them all.

However, there’s a whole subset of game micro-calibration related to the women who require the most extreme forms of game. Back in the day, when I was learning Jiu-Jitsu, my friends who were low to mid-level MMA fighters had no problem hooking up with these types. In the camaraderie of the gym, you’d get to hear about people’s personal lives.

These women are just not marriage material, and no matter how hot you think they are, you’ll never be able to force them into a healthy long term relationship. I’ve never met Jon Koppenhaver, but he and I know people in common, and I know guys who are like him. If you want a true story about unhealthy attraction/relationship dynamics, read about him.

When you radiate a certain energy, you attract certain things. Different energies attract different things. If all the people you date of the opposite gender are terribly messed up, then eventually you come to believe that all people of the opposite gender are terribly messed up.

      • Sam,

I’m trying to avoid any risk of possible vulgarity in this genteel company. Mystery breaks it down into stages which occur in chronological sequence. They are A1,A2,A3 – C1,C2,C3 – S1,S2,S3 with S3 occurring last. Once you have gone through S3, you have achieved a success. I don’t know if I can state it much more bluntly than that.

If no one completed S3, there would be no children. I consider Mystery’s stuff to be the best. From what I’ve seen of the others, if you know what Mystery teaches, the rest is kind of a waste of time. In the Mystery Method, all the detritus from the ‘early days’ is gone. He specifically tells you not to copy other people’s material thinking that some combination of words is a magic key. He repeats this multiple times and in different ways, and explains the reasons behind it.

And yes I totally agree about natural game. I have seen a successful old man do variations of the value demonstration that Mystery teaches, and I’m sure he was doing some of them before Mystery was born. As Neil Straus says, Mystery didn’t invent this, he perfected it.

Again, I have a friend who used to make his friends in high school jealous by being so successful with girls. Years ago he started reading Mystery’s book, and then put it down. He thought: “This is all common sense. Why would anyone bother to put this stuff in a book?” Well guess what. It’s not common sense for everyone.

There are people who form communities around all kinds of activates, and they keep practicing even after they’re successful. The successful old man I mentioned has been in numerous movies and was nominated for an Academy Award. He’s still doing his acting class routines, and when I hung out with him, he insisted that we wander the streets so he could chat up and befriend random strangers.

He wasn’t trying to bed any women (his girlfriend was with us), or get any acting gigs (we weren’t in Hollywood). Does the fact that he’s still making a point of working on social interaction mean that he’s bad at social interaction? No, some people just put so much time and effort into things that those things become a career, and then they end up spending time with people doing the same things, and those people collectively become a community.

Then they actively pursue manipulating women into acting slutty?”

The basic theory is that the supply of sluts is perfectly inelastic, not affected by men’s behavior. 90% of the alphas could flee to monasteries tomorrow, and the sluts would just compete for the attention of the 10% who remain. In a less radical way, that seems to be what has happened in the last few decades. Men get spergier and more effeminate, and the sluts just try harder to signal fuckability to the alphas.

“Anyway, point is that in Muslim countries, male sexuality is as policed as is female.”

Nope. Muslim culture view male-female relationships in the same way that most do, that women shouldn’t slut around, but that if some are going to be stupid enough to do so, then it’s perfectly understandable for men to take advantage of it. Only traditional Christian culture tried to apply the standards to both sexes, and often struggled to do so.

      • “Imbecile, sexual license for men is destructive too”

Lol, it’s funny how predictably childlish women are in their thinking. My comment was about women not men, so of course it hurt your precious feelings. Because anything that puts women in a negative light gets women upset.

Anyway, I would agree that promiscuous behavior by men is destructive. But one of many differences between men and women is that it’s far far easier for women to take advantage of sexual license. Perhaps Roosh has f*cked many women, but only at the cost of years and years of work and study and many rejections. A female Roosh could have easily banged 10 times as many men without any effort.

This is the reason traditional societies put more effort into slut-shaming women than they do with men. Because it’s far far easier for women to engage in this kind of destructive behavior than it is for a man.

And of course like a typical woman, your main argument is “But you’re sexually unattractive!!!”

        fortaleza84

July 13, 2018 at EDT am

      • Going back to Roosh’s example, suppose an average-looking dude puts up a few Youtube videos of himself dancing around wearing tight pants. He’s not going to get 60,000 followers. He’s not going to get lots of girls messaging him with requests for sex. People may laugh at him, but the reality is that your average guy doesn’t have the kind of sexual power an average girl does.

This is a big part of the reason slut-shaming is important for the healthy functioning of society. When people have power, there need to be negative consequences for abusing that power. Women have a huge amount of sexual power that men lack. That’s why double-standards are justified.

In the same way, a man hitting a woman is taken more seriously than a woman hitting a man. Because men have a lot more physical power than women.

In Afghanistan men are imprisoned for premarital sex just as women are. If a pregnancy is involved the only way they can be released is to agree to get married.

[The basic theory is that the supply of sluts is perfectly inelastic, not affected by men’s behavior. ]

      • “In Afghanistan men are imprisoned for premarital sex just as women are”

This may very well be true, but let me ask you this: If a traditional Muslim family learns that their son had a quick fling with a girl, would they react the same way as if they had learned that their daughter had a quick fling with a boy. The answer is “of course not.” They would freak out about their daughter. They may be annoyed at their son but they wouldn’t freak out.

Why is that? Is it because traditional culture is controlled by moustache-twirling villains who hate women and want to restrict their freedom? Or is because traditional cultures realize that girls have far more sexual power than boys and therefore need to be policed more strictly?

        fortaleza84

      • I used to work with a Muslim from Afghanistan. Another co-worker was a walking Republican stereotype. One day they got into it, and I heard some heart felt apologetics for how Sharia works in Afghanistan.

Islamic law comes directly from Allah, and because Allah is holy and just, Islamic law is incredibly fair and well thought out. Of course adultery is a sin. And unlike you sinful Westerners who know what God wants but refuse to obey, Muslims actually punish adultery.

Islamic law is incredibly fair and just (have I mentioned that yet). Allah is loving and would never want his followers to unjustly punish an innocent man. So Islamic law requires strong evidence for convicting a man of a serious crime.

Let’s say that an unmarried woman is discovered to be pregnant. She must have committed adultery, and now she must be punished. Let’s say that she insists a man in the village forced himself on her. Where are the four male witnesses who will testify that they saw this happen? Without their testimony the man cannot be convicted.

Let us also say that when questioned by the court, the woman testifies that she reported the first man to the police, but when she was at the police station, four police men also forced themselves on her while two more watched. The six police men are brought before the court, and each testifies that this did not happen.

Since the only witness is a woman, the men cannot be convicted. But the woman will definitely be convicted. The only question is how many counts zina and bearing false witness she will be convicted of, and how much the penalty for each will be.

  21. Roosh is a good example of the unintended consequences of feminism (and anti-feminism). He was on a white collar science track and couldn’t find a girlfriend (when young women were starting to make a thing about not ‘settling’) just when the PUA stuff got started (essentially it was guys nerding out and keeping and comparing notes about strategies for attracting women and figuring out the principles guiding the process and labelling all wtih nerdy jargon).
You can debate the scale of success that he and others had but the basic idea is pretty valid (women are hard wired to respond to behaviors that can be learned) and they found some answers to the age old question “what do women want?” (for example: they like to have their emotional buttons continually stroked by men capable of both arrogance and tenderness).
The problem is that success with women is even more disillusioning than failure with women and you can’t develop real emotions for someone you’ve manipulated into being attracted to you in the first place.
If he had been able to get a girlfriend or two (including one who’d finally marry him) back in the day he’d probably be a married suburban worker bee with a couple of kids who maybe dreams about cheating on his wife but who would never leave her.
Instead he’s had emotionless sex with more women than he would have otherwise but can’t emotionally bond with a woman and won’t have any kids and has drifted into the political stuff as a result.

I can’t think of any real incentives for men to marry and settle down at present since both the work environment and home environment are increasingly engineered to make men feel alienated and unhappy. Feminists assumed men would still want to be the workhorses of the economy no matter how women behaved…. but more and more don’t.

But the screwier mind control stuff, intentional insults, trick questions will probably ruin an otherwise good relationship or attract a mentally unbalanced partner.

I once read the saddest story on reddit. These two guys, after years of not having a GF, decide to seriously embark on red pill philosophy. They clean themselves up, dress better, work out, act confident etc. One guy lands a very sweet GF and they’re together for a while but he decides to take it to the next level of alpha-ness by ignoring her and deliberately flirting with other women in her presence. Well the GF is confused and eventually shattered by this, breaks up with him, leaving her ‘alpha’ BF alone and nonplussed. This was all described by his friend who witnessed what could have been an enduring relationship ruined by misinformed hubris. The friend abandoned red pill stuff after this, and the other guy, at least of that writing, was unable to replace the GF he lost.

“One guy lands a very sweet GF and they’re together for a while but he decides to take it to the next level of alpha-ness by ignoring her and deliberately flirting with other women in her presence. Well the GF is confused and eventually shattered by this, breaks up with him, leaving her ‘alpha’ BF alone and nonplussed.”

Well, he was doing it wrong. You don’t do that stuff after the first few hours. Who did this guy learn pickup from?

    • Roosh, Style, and Mystery never offered anything significant to the PUA literature. Roosh had a trial and error blog that became a forum to discuss other things and other PUA material. The latter two only condensed other material. Most of it unhelpful because it was mostly based on psychological tricks rather than self improvement.

For helpful PUA material, look to Alan Roger Curie, David Deida, Tyler Durden, and Zan Perrion. That’s a rough order of usefulness,

    • “2) What do women want? They want to submit”

Social conservatives say the same thing, only in more guarded terms. Like the gamers, they aren’t entirely wrong. See here, for some supporting evidence:

      https://sociologistsbookshelf.blogspot.com/2017/09/review-essay-of-everybody-lies-by-seth.html

But this is only part of the story. As with everything, women’s wants are contradictory. They spurn the domesticated man for the wild man, yet dream that they will “tame” him. They want submission and control. A man who is strong, but who never tells her “no.”

  25. On the May call, Schnatter was asked how he would distance himself from racist groups online. He responded by downplaying the significance of his NFL statement. “Colonel Sanders called blacks n—–s,” Schnatter said, before complaining that Sanders never faced public backlash.

Schnatter also reflected on his early life in Indiana, where, he said, people used to drag African-Americans from trucks until they died. He apparently intended for the remarks to convey his antipathy to racism, but multiple individuals on the call found them to be offensive, a source familiar with the matter said.

Another unsuccessful pick up attempt from Roosh. She was probably just glad that he didn’t try to kill her.

I shouldn’t make fun though. Roosh appears to be one of the only prominent manosphere bloggers who has matured at all in the last 10 years. Heartiste/Vox Day (if you can even call him “prominent”) still act like 8 year olds and rehash the same crap about alpha and beta over and over again. Roosh’s saving grace has always been his honesty and his philosophical orientation.

Can you point to any truly original and significant Roosh contribution in terms of psychological / relationship axiom?

Give me Heartiste’s incisive man-woman advice any day over the endless manosphere politics that Roosh has adopted. Sure, Heartiste touches on them too, but for example his throwaway Laws of Poon on his website menu is infinitely more useful than anything that Roosh has charged money for.

      • Have you noticed that over the last few years, Roissy’s lay reports have gotten scarcer and scarcer? Having thought about it, I strongly suspect that despite what PUA’s claim, it gets harder for men to pick up girls as they age. Especially if they are trying to do it based on their charm and physical appearance.

I know a number of middle aged men who are successful at bedding young women, but they all are successful professionals and/or business owners. I think a middle aged cubicle jockey is going to have a hard time of things unless he is extremely good looking.

To be sure, aging doesn’t kill a man’s sexual marketplace value the way it does for women, but I think a lot of young guys have this fantasy that they can be lady-killers forever. I’m skeptical of it.

  28. “Roosh correctly apprehends that sexual license for women is destructive”

I’d massage that a little into “total sexual autonomy for young people with more hormones than sense is destructive”
The big secret of patriarchal societies is that restrictions on female behavior are not about controlling females but ultimately about controlling young men (who generally need coercion and direction to turn their lives into a positive direction).
At times this becomes horribly dysfunctional (muslim world in general) but the principle is the same as Victorian England – guard young women against their own errant desires and use them to motivate young men to compete among themselves and to achieve.
Societies where men compete in productive achievement for pretty, fertile young women will grind any other type of society into the dust (although it’s a delicate balance and generally can’t be maintained at peak performance for very long).

    • “I’d massage that a little into ‘total sexual autonomy for young people with more hormones than sense is destructive’ ”

Technically I would agree with you, but I think it’s a mistake to ignore the reality that (1) young women have far more sexual power than young men; and (2) it’s more difficult for young women to recover from sexual misadventures than it is for young men.

Traditional double-standards when it comes to sex are not the result of moustache-twirling villains who hate women; they are the result of the recognition of reality.

      • I agree that a lot of young men (not ALL young men, a lot of young men) would have as much sex as possible, but they are limited by the supply of females willing to have sex with them, sometimes so limited that they become “incel.” There are no female incels.

  29. “young men (not ALL young men, a lot of young men) would have as much sex as possible, but they are limited by the supply of females ”

That’s why I say that a lot of social restrictions on young women are about controlling young men by proxy, limiting the supply of young women and making the young men play by the strict rules if they want to have sex (by getting married). Of course some of the worst of these restrictions take on a twisted life of their own over time.

  31. The irony completely goes over your head.

    1. You want Western nations to have strict policy on immigration.

    2. You also don’t want a large influx of brown people from the Middle East.

    3. Roosh is NOT BRITISH. He’s an Iranian. Why does Britain need more Iranians?

You either support the right of sovereign nations to enforce strict policy on aliens entering their countries, or you don’t. You either support banning blacks, mestizos, and middle easterners from entering western civilization, or you don’t.

If you believe in “alt-right”, “alt-lite”, or anything like that, then you should think of him as an Iranian. He’s not white. He’s not British. Therefore, Britain has the right to ban him from entering the country.
