Election today!

with 107 comments

I really have no idea what’s going to happen.

UPDATE: At 8:48 PM, it looks like Republicans are doing better than expected!

UPDATE: At 10:58 PM, everyone is predicting that Dems will take house. But we won’t know for 100% sure until morning.

  1. Neither do I. Even at their best, polls are voodoo. And there’s too much movement with too many races too close to call. Anything could happen. My best guess is that we lose the house and pick up a couple of seats in the senate.

    • I’m also wondering if Sessions will step down after the midterms. It’s common to see a shake-up after an election. I know this is coming out of left field but I suspect he might name Jeanine Pirro as AG. She actually is qualified for the position.

      • God i hope the GOP wins, because then…

        1. no wall, no immigration bill will seal the bannonite takeover.

        2. or there will be a wall and an immigration bill…

not to mention an infrastructure bill.

        and new trade deals.

      • Jeanine Pirro is a hack. Jeff Sessions however is a great attorney general who should have remained on board for all eight years of a Trump presidency but after today even I think he will be gone. His idiotic choice to recuse himself enabled a series of legal actions which were designed by the deep state to energize the Democratic base. I know this tactic well because it’s what occurred under the Clinton administration. Anyone who successfully challenges the Bush crime family can expect the special counsel treatment. Now that the Democrats will control the House the vital investigations into deep state corruption will vanish forever. Mission accomplished.

This better be a major wake up call to GOP types about the serious danger posed by censorship of conservative content. Even Fox News refused to run Trump’s anti-illegal immigration ad.

Massive democrat voter is the only way the Democrats took control of the House. A national voter ID system should have been enacted years ago.

That’s basically what I see happening too. It’s not going to be the D+15 blow-out the special elections were warning earlier this year, but I’ve felt all along that if it’s close the Democrats would be fired up enough to carry the day where they need to.

The communist media is a large problem. I don’t think it won’t be until the baby boomers are mostly dead, which won’t be for another 30 years or so. Though, their numbers will start declining more precipitously in another 10-15 years (and sooner in poorer regions, which likely isn’t good for us. Liberal regions have higher average lifespans). As their mobility declines, they will also vote less.

      • Cable television is definitely a dead man walking, although it could still do a lot of damage before it goes. There’s no longer any fundamental, technological reason for its existence. Like the landline telephone system, it will continue on out of inertia until the people who are used to it die. I haven’t owned a TV in years, but when I go to the gym or barber I see snippets of CNN. There’s almost always a split screen with multiple talking heads snarking at each other, something that amateurs can easily recreate on Youtube at a tiny fraction of the cost.

  5. The Democrats will make huge gains because normal people see that angry white men have taken over the Republican party.

The right wing is what happens when men are too socially inept to ever find a girl who would want to touch them even with fork. They grow bitter and look back to “happier” times when men could just demand sex and loyalty from women. The whole current right wing movement is based on sexual frustration. It’s no secret that women tend to prefer progressives to boring conservatives. Thus, these people absolutely hate the left. It won’t do them any favours with women though. Luckily, the problem will solve itself. They will die without spreading their faulty genes. Evolution in action, sorting out the trash.

      Lion of the Blogosphere

November 6, 2018 at EST am

    • ^ this is projecting. Statistically it is the opposite of the truth. Single people, of both sexes are much more weighted to the Democrats and married people of both sexes, especially married with children, are much more likely to be Republican.

Evolution does not “sort out the trash”, it simply favors the groups that are best adapted to having more surviving offspring, under a welfare state that virtually guarantees the survival of all offspring that always means religious conservatives with the more traditional gender roles will eventually outbreed all other groups. Conservative whites are the group in the USA with the highest fertility. The only group with a higher fertility are foreign born hispanics. And the group with the lowest fertility are liberal whites. This is why the Left has to keep importing voters from the Third World to stay competitive, otherwise they get rapidly outbred. And this is also why politics is increasingly split along racial lines, because Leftist whites are going extinct.

      DataExplorer

November 6, 2018 at EST am

    • I’m sure this is a troll and/or parody but it is also wrong. White conservatives have a higher fertility rate than white liberals. Their genes are being passed on. Speaking of faulty/trash genetics Iwould argue more of those genes get passed on than is natural due to the welfare safety net.

      Jay Fink

      • Never mind, I was misreading. But another thing you have to remember about k-selected vs r-selected breeders (middle or UMC vs. welfare moms) is that it’s not just about how many children people have, but how early or late in life they have them. If you have two populations where the women have the same average number of babies, but in population A they have them in their early twenties and population B has them in their early thirties, population A is going to grow faster.

        Hermes

November 6, 2018 at EST pm

      • Lion,

        Let’s review

Democrats – abortion and birth control = better family planning for welfare mother. Free college and healthcare for educated couple.

Replicans – less taxes for 1%, exploding debt. Wall that will never be built.

        99.9% Fine

November 6, 2018 at EST pm

      • Democrats – Open borders, massive immigration, will wipe out any benefit from anything else they do. Plus exploding debt from requiring every building to retrofit bathrooms for additional “genders” we never knew existed until now. Plus banning of free speech. New affirmative action rules prevent any white males from getting jobs.

        Lion of the Blogosphere

November 6, 2018 at EST pm

  21. “UPDATE: At 8:48 PM, it looks like Republicans are doing better than expected!”

Earlier, the msm was quoting polls saying Dems had an 86% chance of taking the House. Now ABC is saying 56%. The leftwing media is so full of it. They use polls as propaganda to manipulate voters.

Regardless, if they’re saying only 56% it’s because it’s going to be very close. So it’s not going to be the “blue wave” the msm was hoping for. Dems will probably only take a 2 or 3 seat majority. And one would assume that some of those Dems will be in vulnerable districts (like Manchin) where they can’t afford to alienate too many constituents. So if the Dems try to pull something, they’e run into the same problems the GOP had trying to push their agenda with only a narrow senate majority. A party has to have a comfortable margin in order to overcome the handful of vulnerable politicians who can’t support controversial positions..

All in all, not a bad showing in a midterm where the president’s party tends to lose a lot of seats. The Dems got shellacked in both of Obama’s midterms. Of course, in those instances, the msm downplayed the “red wave” because the msm are vermin who belong in FEMA camps.

  24. The Republicans are doing better than expected. When I was watching the commentators, especially the women, weird looking distinctly down. but I do think the Democrats will take the house. They were very clever about running your type of Democrat, the gun-toting military veteran.
